The Thomas and friends trains actually looks pretty good tbh! I’d visit Japan had I not been a broke af college student.
Japan would surprise you at how cheap it can be. Good quality capsule hotels and incredible cheap noodle shops, or food from vending machines, or 7/11s that you would not believe! Many things are free to enter, or have a very small fee. The biggest expense is the JR PASS. But it's worth it and no-one needs first class on the clean, efficient, spacious Shinkansen trains!
