Don’t know who wouldn’t like this video, unless they don’t like Peterbuilt cabovers. Really good looking cabovers! Cabovers rule in my book! I miss seeing them as much like back in the 80s.
These 362 Cabover Petes are just freakin awesome! These are the 80's years models! Ya sure don't, next to hardly ever, see any year model 362's out on the highways anymore! These are the "OLD SCHOOL" classics! Love em!
I drove a 77 362, I hated that piece of junk. The heater and a/c didn't work very good at all it would keep you from freezing but you had to have a lot of blankets, or a good sleeping bag. the a/c was ok at night but not very good in the day . The shifter would hit the dash every time you shifted in to 2nd, 4th, 7th, 9th or reverse if you weren't careful you would hit your fingers between the shifter and dash not fun
Damn, I used to watch rigs along the side of the highway, just like the rail-fans do now along the tracks... My favorites were the Kenworths, Petes and the Freightliners. For some reason also really liked those International Transtars too.
Cabovers are still made, just not here in the states. Kenworth has a K200 now thats all over down under. I miss seeing them on the road. I see one every once in a while but not to often.
I totally agree friend these are some of the best looking Pete's ever!!! There what a big rig should be. Check out the one @ around 28 just beautiful!!!
The Peterbilt 362, which had just been introduced, was on show at the Peterboro Truck Festival on the Foden stand. Foden was and as far as I know , was under the Paccar banner. At the time I was an owner driver, having another Paccar owned truck, a DAF. I expressed interest in buying a 362 to one of the salesmen, and was told there was no intention of selling the unit in Europe, so I asked why the hell had they got it on the stand. He didn't really know. I think they could have taken quite a few orders that weekend, as there was considerable interest. Pity.
Fred grove who would have ever thought that Foden would have anything to do with Paccar, or Volvo taking over white which made my blood boil as a kid growing up Mercedes taking over Detroit engines. Nothing against euro style trucks but they're never the same. Cheers from Australia.
Fred Grove I take it that DAF XF 480 was a bit like the Volvo ''Globe trotter'' with a high roof etc. I'll do a search on those types I'm more into the older trucks even though they're not as comfortable. Merry Xmas
Drivers wanted more room in the cab, and you just can't get that with a cabover. I personally love them, very easy to get around in. My first truck was a Freightliner cabover, 350 Cat, 9 speed...that truck would pull a hill like it was flat.

Just a downright beautiful truck. I have always loved and drove cabovers.
A Pete 362 was the first truck i ever rode in. Brought back a lot of good memories. Wish I had one now.
