I think the oil cooler spot looks great. My only worry... what happens if the cooler gets damaged from tires tapping while doing tandems? Understandably... your a Pro... and drive with other Pro’s.... so you’re all superb drivers and can plant the car right on point... but in the event someone makes a mistake diving in... could the cooler end up getting damaged... potentially leading to oil starvation? Just a thought. Rad job though!
Thanks for the solid question. I honestly would rather have awesome oil cooler cooling without impeding on the radiator air flow over a safer oil cooler position. If you get hit hard enough to punch through the front fender and hit the cooler hard enough to damage it, you are having a shit day either way. Just bring a -10 AN union fitting to the track to by pass it if you end up smashing it that bad.
Frenemies very wise words. Yeah, with the radiator predicament, placement in the fender is perfect... and you’re right, front end collisions run the same risk with a cooler mounted there. Thank you for your reply/clarification. I absolutely love the channel!
Would be interesting to see how much the front tires throw at that oil cooler. Could potentially have a situation where the front tires cake a bunch of tire rubber over it.
Glad to see the car all one color Car lookin two tone af man 🤦♀️ Cool build though, you'll wanna ditch the s chassis after some quality seat time slidin the vette
Hey Odi! I’ve been curious about installing a 160 degree thermostat in my car like you did in the video. (2014 mustang v6 tuned N/A to 300whp). The coolant temp on the return (cold) side of the rad gets up to 200F towards the end of a 1 minute drift run. It gets back down to like 130 by the time my next run comes up like 8 minutes later. Stock thermostat is 190F, and I’m Wondering if a colder thermostat (along with tuning for the fans) is really going to help me keep temps down or if it’s more of a band aid? I do have a mishimoto radiator already, and I am adding a 25 row mishimoto oil cooler with a thermostatic plate this week as well (just waiting on hoses and fittings). I’m kinda running out of cooling mods. Trying to keep temps down so I can get more runs in at events. Sorry for the long question! I wish you luck at St. Louis in your new car and with the new double header format!
Yes a cooler thermostat will help it cool. The 190 keeps the water from getting from the radiator to the motor until it hits 190, and by that time it’s already climbing and opening won’t do much right off the bat. Another thing you can try is getting a few water sprayers from Home Depot and swapping the windshield washer fluid reservoir line Over to the sprayer line whenever you’re on track. Spraying cold water on the radiator will cool it down quite a bit
I've seen those stock oil cooler setups sell on the Corvette forums pretty quickly when they are a whole OEM kit. instead of just tossing it. might wanna post it up.
sophear prek I was thinking the same thing. I’m building a c6 right now as well and I wouldn’t be comfortable putting an oil cooler right there. There is definitely limited room in this chassis though, so not really any other viable places it could go.
If you think you will smash that hard, bring a -10 AN union fitting incase you have to by pass the cooler. If you smash that hard, it's a bad day either way.
Loving that fd guys are doing the youtube thing. It helps those of us who want to get into the sport
I absolutely love it. I remember the days of cable, when car shows were soap oprahs with vehicles in em.
Happy Birthday Odi
Just catching up on these man! AWESOME!
Awesome project
Can’t wait for episode 4
thank you a lot of useful information
Happy birthday odi 🎉🎉
Imagine Odi participating at Klutch Kickers with this Vette.
Should happen !

What did you make the inner fender liner out of? Looks awesome!

Any reason why you didn't run a thermostat for the oil cooler?
Odi is gonna start selling that bolt on solution.
Great series, I want to get into drifting and was looking at this platform, what do you think you have in this car dollar wise, not including the car?
Glad to see the car all one color

Can we get more info on the ghetto fab paint booth? Harbor freight gun I think but what compressor set up?
Just hooked up to a tall big boy compressor from Lowes. Just dial the paint gun really well and it works awesome.
Anyone know the specs for the oil cooler? Size
What up Odi
Yo!
Simple but,you know what i mean 👌🇵🇭

What size/thread pitch was the bolt you used for the seatbelt on the bracket?

Nice 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Question about the oil cooler placement. Is that a high risk area for tandem drifting?

Connor Grant perhaps make some type of bash bar for the oil cooler.

@@Frenemiesdrift Thank you, sirs.
