    This was the best wiring explanation of this install. too many you tubers skipped over the wiring of the Growatt and the transformer as though it was taken for granted we would know what we were doing.

    Will the grid provide power to the circuitry in grid/ line mode if a battery is connected?

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not quite sure what you are asking. There is a menu that lets you decide which to use first.
      AC, battery or pv... So I guess which ever one is providing the juice to the inverter is running the circuits? That's overy my pay grade , you will have to ask the manufacturer..

    I have an important question about the Growatt inverters are the L & N both 240v each or 120v each to equal the 240v on these units I wanna buy a SolarEdge midpoint transformer for my single phase 240v Inverter but I need to know what voltage should be on the neutral and the line before I I triy to install one

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will have to call their tech support to get specifics on the growatt and the inverter. The growatt out puts 240, the transformer then makes120.

    • @diysolaradventures7894

      @@FreeAmericanSpirit right that what I'm trying to do with my Inverter it's 240v to but I'm hearing issues with some of these Inverters I'll call signature solar and ask them since they seem to know a lot about them

    If i wanted to use a 240volt dryer, could i use it on the same panel as your set up here? Would i have to shut off the transformer to do this?

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. To use a dryer you would need two growatts. Just one growatt can't handle.the amps.

    Did you ground your 5000 es, batteries, solar panels and batteries using the residential main panel ground? Or did you use an independent grounding rod? Thanks for the video!

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you watch my video on the pannel installation, you can see how I grounded those.
      The sup panel is grounded to a ground rod, and the batteries are grounded to that same rod. I do NOT have any AC connected to the inverter so the system is off grid.

    Great videos - thanks for sharing! I'm wiring up a similar setup (Growatt 5000 and SolarEdge Transformer) and I'm concerned about what might happen if the transformer fails or the breaker for the transformer is turned off. If this happens, would the inverter continue to send power to the sub panel, which would send fluctuating voltages to the 120 circuits?

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting.
      I am not sure but I believe that in that case your breaker would trip. I'm not sure but if the sun come.out.tomorrow I will fire up the unit, then I'll turn on only the transformer and the 120 20 amp breaker to the light bulb.... Then I'll turn of the transformer and see what happens. ... I'll get back to you...

    hello sorry if I disturb you or just installed my growatt 5000es or connected the lithium battery 48 volt 100ah with voltage 52.5 volts or tried to turn on and it did not turn on you can help me please thank you.Then or connected the 230volt network and it turned on but at the output it did not give me the 230volt to power the loads, and despite the battery is connected as soon as I remove the 230volt utility it turns off.

      Go to signature solar in TH-cam. Watch their battery video. You have to set the dip switches on the first battery. Then you have to go to the inverter (shut it off) and configure some settings.. they explain stuff pretty good.

      hello the problem of turning on the inverter and was solved it was a disconnected plug on the motherboard now it works correctly but still another problem The inverter charges the battery to 50% and then stops charging maybe you have to configure some parameters?

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can change settings. You'll have to call signature solar or watch their videos. I don't remember which ones they are off the top of my head. I believe that you have to choose lithium ion from the menu first (item 5??). Before the program will let you access the menu option to change them.

    • @FreeAmericanSpirit
      @FreeAmericanSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if it is the best brand but it will be hard to find a comparable unit with the features this has at this price. If you go with a big name like solark it will cost about three times as much.
