Hi, I have EOS Lux 2009 with RNS 510 dynaudio first generation. it has no bluetooth nor back-up camera; however, it has parking sensors. I want to know if it's possible to upgrade to a newer generation RNS 510, (like the ones on the B7 Passat SEL) I would like to have seamless integration of bluetooth and possibly a back-up camera that work along with the sensors. Thank you in advance.
I have RCD510 in my vw sharan, but I would like to upgrade to RNS510 that has nav options, I don't know if it is worth doing it or should I just buy a navigation unit. Do I have to install any extra cable such as gps antena or anything else?
Yeah, theoretically you can. They are both the same generation. If your 2014 is not NAV enabled, you will need to transfer the antenna, and possibly even bluetooth.
Hey Ricky, my unit is being shipped, do you need special tools to get the surround bracket off, can I use a screw driver covered by a cloth, & did you end up damaging any tabs, are they delicate ! Any advice is useful, will let you know how it goes !
HELLO.. I HAVE A RCD 510 UNIT IN MY 2013 VW CC BUT IT HAS NO BACK UP DISPLAY.. HOW DID YOU GET YOUR TO SHOW THE BACK UP MONITOR.. DO YOU THINK IF I ADD THE BACK UP CAMERA I CAN USE THIS STOCK UNIT TO MAKE IT WORK LIKE YOURS?
Look under drivers seat - a foam box with the BT module in is there? if so the new headunit will need coding. If not there you will need the BT module as well - in which case go 3rd part Double Din solution instead of VW as cheaper and better.
Craig Ragpot There's nothing directly under the seat unless it's beneath the fabric floor as something has been wired or cut out there by previous owner but I think you're right. Am looking at a third party double din radio with Bluetooth but was not sure if it meant the radio has Bluetooth built in or it's supposed to work of your cars module if that makes any sense to you ?
This was one of my first attempts at filming. But wow, you are right.. the viewing angle captured nothing! Wish I can re-do this but I no longer have the car. Contemplating thumbs down my own video

I've found all the mic's on these after market radios are horrible and never as good as the mic built into the car.

I had the OEM Badge camera retrofit. You will probably need the OEM
