Hi Jesse! Thanks for your review! First, apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We are dedicated to ensuring our user's 100% satisfaction and would make it happen. So thanks for all the feedback and feature requests, we'll definitely pass it on to the MOZA App development team to resolve all these issues.

Hey! I’m really glad you were able to watch the video and accept the feedback. I really hope you are about to address these issues.
However I would also hope you’d have that same level of commitment to all the users in the comment section who have expressed issues with products not functioning, and customer service not responding accordingly. I’m sure they would be happy to get a reply from you.
This really could be something special, and I hope some day it is.

Honestly, the biggest thing would be the ability to do segmentation beyond 30 minutes. I love this product for a lot of legacy cameras that aren't shutter compatible. @Gudsen MOZA.
I love the product and have used it with the AirCross 2 to make basic trailers for 3d printed items (th-cam.com/video/pTDxbmQxS_0/w-d-xo.html)

@@JesseDriftwood Did you try using the 4 way cross above the XY grid with the waypoints? That's actually a nicer way to set your waypoints and less sensitive.
The issue with this app is that it's goddamn terrible to figure out all the features... I think someone should sit down and go through the app like in English.
The reason the segmentation hours is set to 0 is because you cannot create a segmentation path longer than 30 minutes (it's something to do with the minimum move speed)
Edit: You can also double tap a point to move the camera to that point to check your composition before ruining your shot. This app just needs someone to re-design it.

@@JesseDriftwood This right here is why I am a HUGE fan of your channel. Not only do you give us an AMAZING review which just looks great - as all your stuff does - but you then put the company on notice AFTER they reach out to you. That is the best. I wish more TH-camrs/Inlufencers would do this...I had a recent situation with a particular camera bag from a particular TH-camr (you might know him....) and it was NOT the case with him. The bag was promptly returned (after waiting a year for it) and the money went to better things...(a new turntable for my records!)

Being a software developer and knowing that the shortcomings of our workflow software allows project managers to create "Development Tasks" versus "User Stories" and QA only tests "User Stories" regardless of how much code is changed in a "Development Task" ... it wouldn't surprise me in the least that certain aspects of a product's testing get ignored.

Great honest review. Recently I bought the Aircross 3 and send it back after a few days of fiddling around with it. It could not support the advertised weight and thus constantly went into sleep mode. I also had the follow focus. What a mess! The attachements only work for a particular style of lenses (focus ring at the front of the lens), the motor gets loose all the time and you have to reconnect and calibrate the follow focus each time you turn the gimbal off. I wasted sooo much time on a shoot, until I finally gave up. Luckily a friend brought his Ronin. It worked right away.
I didn't even use the App much, it felt more like a gimmick.

I just came from a review of the same setup but then 3 years ago. In that review, the reviewer was slightly frustrated that the marketed combinations didn't work as advertised.
Then I saw this review and being that this one is 2,5 years later I hoped and expected that the issues had been solved and the company now delivers what they promised. But that was not the case.
I think that if a company can't solve these problems in 3 years then you can forget that it will ever happen. They will probably come up with a new product and the promise that this new product will solve it all. However, the slypod in this review (the pro) is already the next generation over the normal slypod.

Fantastic review! I also have an Aircross 2 (not the Slypod). It’s an ok gimbal (it does drift sometimes)and the app is an absolute nightmare. But both have so much potential!
I reached out to Moza because I ordered something directly from their webshop and they had put an incorrect label on the package so it was refused when it arrived here in the Netherlands and was returned to sender. I got the weirdest responses from them, their website doesn’t really function, they don’t have anyone that can speak English and I have no idea where my package is now.. so I get your frustration. That whole company seems to be a mess. But that’s such a shame, because the concepts of their products i think are awesome and they ALMOST work fine..

This video is awesome, thank you Jesse, I think one alternative to add motion to your timelapse or motion in general shots, is the Edelkrone JibONE thak Daniel Schiffer had used in some of his videos, it is expensive, but maybe it could work better for you. Keep this amazing content!

The JibOne only solves the rising part of the equation. It needs to be paired with the HeadPlus One to get the effect he's looking for but, man, the cost of that combination...whew

    Hey Jesse
I love the videos they are inspiring for my stuff. If I may let me troubleshoot this.
If you had a basic 48" rhino slider or similar you could use that for your shots.
You would just have to make an accessory for yourself.
Going with the 48" length you would hit the local hardware store and purchase a stiff channel. In the balanced center of the channel, you would mount the male end of the hot shoe. That hot shoe would go into the slider. The next step is to add weight to the opposite side of the channel that would be the same weight as the camera you are using.
Now you got 48" of an obstructed slide for the shot.
I hope this helps or spurss a BETTER idea.
    Thanks Again!

for the loop issue. you can try press + and - buttons for seconds. it will loop without app involved.
think it will fit your workflow.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Edelkrone gear. Mind you my stuff is the older hardware. They stole my "power everything with a V-Mount battery" approach when I was working with support on troubleshooting. I had to go there as it would take so long to get a reliable setup that it would kill 2 canon EL batteries. The V-Mount approach gave me enough time to get things working.
Now, Edelkrone has provided a wired setup to multi-component reliability *should be better. They've also added a V-Mount power option to drive all the components.

Brilliant review! Would love to see what you could do with a collaborative robot. The motion can be taught with a hand movement (no programming required). Should be able to put you in contact with Omron for a TM5 loaner?

Very refreshing review. I have so much gear like this that drives me crazy and would never recommend but still need to use. 'Reviewers' are much too lenient on bad physical and user interface design, they need to be savage to convey the frustration people feel using these products, especially when you're trying to rely on it in the field professionally. If they say 'you have to get used to it', that means 'poorly designed' to me.
Thanks again and just to add my own personal recent gear advice....avoid the Gopro 10 for the same exact UI reasons.

Hey Jesse, have you checked the Edelkrone stuff? I have plenty of their motion control hardware, and they are totally reliable 100 % ... no frustrations...
Man, I had a laugh with all your honest comments about the moza app and the issues with the hardware.
Anyway, great work. Admire you and your work here on TH-cam 👍
