I wish they would keep the vanilla lightning bolt animation or least make an option to choose. (in Cata they "updated" it into that 2d abonimation..., which is why I don't wanna play my shaman anymore :( Great video mate! boom boom! :)

yoo i was ranting about this too.. i hate most updated spell effects , like chain heal to water effect, ugh.. the 'thunderfury" lightning is nice.
New lighting bolt animation is insanely better lol. The old one looks like a lightning miniature testicle more than a bolt

Couple questions:
Why drop windfury even if you’re in a melee group? Wouldn’t that raid buff be provided by a frost dk or enhance?
And how strong is tailoring? I thought it still has the lightweave cloak attachment which was bis but I can’t remember
1: if someone else is giving WF, don't
2: the cloak enchants are busted for casters in general but they benefit arcane and elemental the most

Small difference is precast a lightning bolt on pull before you flame shock, may not be much but an extra bolt (or more with mastery proc) could separate a 99 parse from a 100

@Beranin One spell cast is normally never the difference between a 99 and a 100.
You should always precast if possible though, all though the standard (Pre Phylactery WOTLK opener excluded) would be as followed :
Prepot > Precast LB > Flame Shock > LvB
This takes advantage of your clearcasting damage bonus for your first LvB, however this bonus is removed in Cataclysm, and so the opener is the same but with a little less wiggle room to squeeze in extra damage.

Multi spread flame shock + nova while keeping chain lightning is a better dmg ratio in mass aoe (6+ targets) than earthquake, so even then you never get it.
What do you think of taking herbalism for the haste, so we have an even stronger burst window, and we sacrifice a little int?
I used that with troll racial and steps of time + insignia. So 2 mini BL's to extend burst period and 2x 2k haste procs. I found it only helps having 1 or the other, the flat intell on your initial burst is just so strong late game.
I don't think that would be min max for ele or any spec... int is just that good.
@@naejimba intell is a double stat, both of which are the best stats for casters. Disregard what tauri veins says about crit being bad. That only counts for BIS when intellect is gonna passively contribute all your crit needs anyway. Till you get there intell>crit 20%>haste/mastery
@@meusana3681 , well I was talking about the haste from herbalism vs. any of the intel buffs, and in that instance intel always comes out on top.
I disagree completely with ever placing crit above haste or mastery for Ele, and I don't know how you can justify this. Lava Burst is our most damaging spell, and it is a GUARANTEED crit with Flameshock up, so most of its value is simply wasted. This is further compounded with the CD of Lava Burst being reset at times, so it makes up a larger percentage of our rotation in Cata.
If you have an argument to present, I'd be happy to hear it.
@basorry, but you sound like every theory craft ive ever heard that completely gets shut down as soon as I ask them to link a recount. Lava burst just isn't making up the majority of your damage. Yes increasing its damage does boost dps, but your dps isn't solely dependent on lava burst, nor is it ever your top damage dealing spell. Saying crit is useless because a spell that made up 20% of my total recount doesn't benefit from it, is simply moronic, and parroting 9 year old meta analyzers.
Am i saying go reforge your haste/mastery to crit, ofc not. But till you get 20% crit either passively from intell or from gear, no other stat comes close to it in regards to a change in dps apart from hit rating. Again, this very quickly isn't the case as you enter 390+ territory, as t13 set is very mastery dependent and again, you start passively critting anyway. Your theory kindoff falls apart for the very reason we're arguing for intellect>haste. Intell is as good precisely cuz it lets you crit.
I noticed Fire Nova was not mentioned in your AoE rotation. Any reason why?
Chain Lightning does more dmg, fire nova is only viable on huge pulls 10+ targets, as it is not target capped.

Why would you not use Earth Ele if you can just summon it together with fire ele? sure to be an dps increase since the Earth Totems dont do that much for you ?
I believe both elementals share a cooldown, so only one at a time. also earth ele casts a taunt, not ideal in raid. i only remember earth ele being an oh shit button
@@jerseyjunior as of Cata they dont share cooldown anymore and they are unable to taunt Bosses, only generate high threat.

Torn between playing boomie or ele shaman boomie has been my main since tbc but ele looks fun
The good news is just about any spec works if you are good at it, and both ele and boomie basically fill the same role in a 10 man where you are the one who swaps for any three heal fights. Hell, Cata is the most alt friendly expansion in WoW's history, so you can have time for both. =)

Troll hands down and it's not even close (there are also a good deal of beast bosses in the expansion and you get a small dmg increase for that as well). It's such a small difference and the skill gap is the highest in Cata/MoP that you can play what you want, but if you wanna sweat Mt. Dew go troll.

I swear fire elemental is meant to be the main fire totem ?
It has a cooldown, you use it when it is up (preferably with heroism and pot/trink) then you go back to searing
You just treat it like a CD, and 99% of the time when you're not using the CD you will go searing. Magma can be a DPS gain on AoE fights, but if you have to move to place it down it is usually a DPS loss.
What about best racial for horde?
bloodfury (orc) or berserking (troll) are both very good and better than anything the alliance has, but I'd go for orc personally
@@sanmedina berserking is better because you fire more lightning bolts so you reduce the cast time of elemental mastery which makes you cast even faster and so on
@@kysfggt , on top of that, since mastery and haste are REALLY close you can favor mastery a bit more and not have to worry about hitting a haste cap during CDs/lust. Then there is the fact that they do just a little more damage to beasts and there are a good amount of mobs that are beasts. Orc isn't bad at all (AMAZING if you wanna do PvE and PvP) but min max is troll hands down.
Goblin have the best racial of the game.
1% flat haste + a jump which can save you of almost any deadly situation.

I agree, and don't know of any raid bosses in the expansion it can be used against. Now for any adds, that might be a VERY different story.

Earthquake is not a channel spell anymore. Cast it and let it do its thing, much better

Unleash Elements is a dps loss in pretty much every scenario as Elemental. It's not worth the global cd. For enhancement its a different story since it triggers 2 enchants.
