TH-cam is like a hybrid of active and passive. You need to keep posting so TH-cam promotes you, but each post you make has a flow on effect as new viewers watch your old videos.

Joined the Navy at 18 with 7k in the bank. I did janitorial and smoked a lot of pot in high school. Left the Navy after months with 32k in the bank. Invested 29k in the S&P in late 90. Started working at UPS, Exide Battery and did concrete on Saturdays. Invested 1k a month every month into it, Cashed out 250k from the S&P and invested with my Financial advisor Lucy Maria Koss. Cashed out and Semi retired at 31. Took a year off. Traveled. Came home and started working part time for the insurance, entertainment and pocket change. Work isn't work when you don't have to work. Becoming wealthy can be done in few years. It feels like 60hr work weeks. Feel the pain of discipline early or feel the pain of regret later. I wish everyone well!

Something I’ve been meaning to get back to is writing crochet patterns. I’ve posted a few but only one of them actually sells. I’ve had it posted for about 8-10 years and I only sell it a handful of times a year at $5 but it’s still a random $5 coming in without having to put any more effort in than I did 10 years ago. I’m sure I could come up with some more patterns that would sell for more if I just took the time towards it but I haven’t crocheted much since I had kids 6 years ago. I keep waiting until my kids are older and I have more time.
My mom earns a lot simply from writing textbooks for elementary school pupils. She earns about a dollar per book let’s say but since tens of thousands of books are sold, it’s worth it. Maybe she earns even more but I am conservative with my numbers

Completely different. Setting it up and letting it work for you is different than going to work and getting a bonus.

I love hearing your personal journey. Although I do not believe that most of these examples are passive income. I see them more as delayed income. You still have to put in a bunch of hours making each video and they slowly pay you back later giving you the illusion of passive income.
Yeah I think about passive income as a model of income, not about effort. It's the idea of putting in the hours upfront, and getting the ongoing stream of income after. :)

My you tube channel here is no monetised and my other TH-cam channels don't have enough 1000 subs and 4000hrs views, so no money there. Wrote a book it is on Amazon kindle. No sales. I'm thinking to actually make this passive income I will have to market it. That will cost money. So not really passive.

£1500'ish ($3,000 aus) per month for all that prep work......I get paid between £400 ($800 aus) & £700 ($1400 aus) per day as a freelance contractor & the most important factor is I massively enjoy what I do, every day is different. I now work just max 6 months of the year after paying off my mortgage 16 years early. To me "passive income" looks like an extremely dull way of making money. Learn a trade, or specialise in a certain field, then charge top dollar for your time & skill set.......too many poor bastards thinking they can make easy money sitting in front of a screen these days.

Western-Australia is in some ways more of an Island than Tasmania, (Population 2.5-Million, and It's a five-hour flight to anywhere) you just have to be inventive...Cheers-All :)

£1500'ish ($3,000 aus) per month for all that prep work......I get paid between £400 ($800 aus) & £700 ($1400 aus) per day as a freelance contractor & the most important factor is I massively enjoy what I do, every day is different.
I now work just max 6 months of the year after paying off my mortgage 16 years early.
To me "passive income" looks like an extremely dull way of making money.
Learn a trade, or specialise in a certain field, then charge top dollar for your time & skill set.......too many poor bastards thinking they can make easy money sitting in front of a screen these days.

You have no idea how many times I've seen videos like these that are just like "YoU ShOuLd StArT A SiDe HuStLe" and then not give any examples of stuff that worked for them, or they just say "Yeah so I started off by buying an entire apartment complex"
