Baru tgk movie ni di sg pawagam. Time sami nye scene aku masih ok. Time the last meeting tu... hujan turun. Dgn penonton yg lain sekali. Probably the movie we will only watch once. Not twice. Depressing movie.
Money is also a character that the director portraying the life of a LGBT has to face in Malaysia. For Abang, just because of his identity, he dare not even fall in love. That's so sad😢
Yes, their respective characters showcased to us the dark & cruel world they're born into. Indeed heartrending. When Abang confessed that he rather die, we cud feel his deep pain & agony ... This movie connects us to the stark reality of life here in our homeland.
Honestly, what an achievement! He's on par with world-class directors, ardently in our hearts, we hope one day he'll win us an Oscar! Perhaps, for Best Foreign Film, lol.
Kudos³! Your excellently solid review blew me away just as this gem of a movie did! Watched it twice but listened to your Oscar-winning commentary thrice! Your art of describing every single scene amazes me. U nailed it so beautifully. On behalf of everyone, We thank you. U've further made this precious film p r i c e l e s s. ❤
I do not like the plot twist because I feel like it kinda took away the attention to the stateless issue but yea since it's about the story of the brothers so any plot could pass. totally agreed with the cinematography! the first thing I told my mum after watching is the dop did very well. many slow pacing shorts but it's beautiful because of the cinematography, it's so beautiful I just enjoyed how he set the lights. I heard that he made the main characters to come n test the lighting before shoot so they can adjust the lightings according to the actors' skin tone. very professional indeed. he's a dop from India. and ofc I love the acting of the actors in the film. they made the characters alive. for the acting alone n the cinematography alone, this film deserves to be watched on repeat
Wow, I just stumbled upon your review , and I'm blown away by how detailed and powerful your analysis is! Your insights and explanations have me itching to watch the movie immediately. I truly appreciate the depth of your review. Keep up the fantastic work! 🎬👏
Very informative and solid review! Just watch! I cried at the last 15 minutes. Wu kang Ren and Jack Tan has brought so much depth into the Abang Adik characters! The only weakness of this film is the scene where the two brothers killed the social workers who are helping them. It is a bit ridiculous and odd! It spoiled the whole story telling process. This is why this film didn't get best director and best films but only get best male actor award in Taiwan Golden Horse film festival!
@@kaypohmedia Your comments are so professional and so detail ! Compared to others, they always ended their review with very stupid comment: Malay films are still better. 😅

know someone who is stateless, all i can say is u wont realize how bad it can get because of all these things that come naturally for the rest of us
I learned also in that silent moments, you could hear audiences sobbing and crying ! That powerful !!
That must be us, sobbing so loud😂

What's amazing is that it's Jin Ong's first time as a director. Good analysis!

Well said bro! Exactly what I felt of this movie, yet better than I can describe.
Hey, great minds think alike!
Just watched it just now. The ending was interrupted by a lady coughing non stop ....sighh😢
Go watch another time then. Many people went to watch a second time and reported to be still crying even though they knew what’s coming.
Best reviews👍👍👍
Thanks a ton!
