I think that I finally understand your photo reviews. Perhaps the audience is under the impression that they are competing to win recognition for the week's worst picture. If so, that explains everything.
You can make a camera lens out of cardboard tube and a magnifying glass (smaller glasses work better, larger are good only as super-teles). Stack glasses to decrease resulting focal length. Just tape the tube to the body and focus with your legs or use two sliding tubes. No mount actually required, just need to tape everything to prevent light-leaks. A fixed aperture can be made out of cardboard too. Stop buying lenses.
That first photo is as in focus as almost anything you produce. Hats off the the photographer

Is 3d pop maybe just a result from a lens being sharp in the center, less sharp in the mid frame and even worse in the corners? That would explain why modern lenses with corner to corner sharpness are so flat.
how about a contest of people sending in their "best" slow-mo clips (say, up to 10 sec)? Just wanted to bring this up, you could start it and begin in 5-6 years when your're done with the pictues.

If you put one of these tape-things on a 3D camera, it becomes a 4D camera which you can use to travel through time. Be careful tho, I went to a marine-themed school dance with my folks and now my sister is a quadruple amputee.
We all know why that first shot won, it used a plastic disposable camera lens that's a single element... Can't get more 3d pop than one element lol
However, adapting a disposable camera lens to mirrorless doesn't work perfectly, which you can especially see in the corners, as they correct the lenses distortion by curving the film back itself, so you can't totally recreate the disposable film camera look on digital just by using the same lens.

I made one of those tape lenses for my sonya6000. You just gut a old disposable camera and put it on a lens cap. Cheap 3d pop.

Question for the next Q&A: If I were shooting a time lapse of a plant, how frequently should I take the pictures if I wanted to match a high quality high frame rate for a "normal" video? What would match slow motion if sped up to a great frame rate?

I would look heavily on the right tripod for this work.
And it depends on the plant growth too, some would need 1 photo every minutes while others 1 every hour or more to be smooth
