i have watched his klitschko fight. aj was faster, more explosive, more creative, had a bigger gas tank and did let his hand go. klitschko did land some heavy bombs and aj took them. but ruiz hit the equilibrium organ behind the ear. that can kock out anybody. aj had wobbly legs for the rest of the round, and was much more prone to consecutive hits on the head. since this fight he has some psychological problems i assume. he dont let his hands go, cause he is afraid that it could happen again. i mean i understand the fear of loosing everything in one punch - your self confidence of being the best boxer as well as all the social status taken from you, can do something to your mind. he needs a good trainer to give him his confidence back, as well as make him more hungry. i want to see him take some shots and get motivated and angry instead of trying to run from the damage and brawls
The thing is that in an endurance sport muscle are more of a disavantage. Being super muscular will just get you tired and you will loose some fluidity. Ruiz might be fatter with less muscle but he do great technique and good movement and weight transfer that all you need. Fat dont consume oxyxen and dont build lactic acid.

Don't forget speed and technique, he's a very skilled heavyweight boxer which is the scariest part of his career, same with James Toney, when some middleweight or light heavyweight guy who has very good technique comes to heavyweight, he's a real problem , because a boxer in lower categories usually has a much better technique, his technique stays but mass goes up, and if he is a puncher that is a lethal combination! Ideal example of that is match between James Toney and Evander Holified, you shoud watch that fight, one of the best, Toney shows his remarkable skills and what he is able to do even if he is so fat!

Andy is strong, fast, and a great counter puncher. He was highly underrated before this fight. Out of 10 fights, I guarantee he wins 8 of them against Joshua.

Ruiz wanted it more.. can see it in his eyes, he was more determined and more of a warrior... can tell Joshua wasn't the same after the first time he was dropped.. I think they called it too soon in the end, but Ruiz would have ended up getting a knock out regardless.

They called it because he spit his mouth piece out to get more time. Combine that will the drops and you end up with a stoppage
