And to be completely fair to DC, they are really putting some effort into the quality of writing and art in their books. And their price points encourage new readers to give them a go imo.
Nice haul...well I'm biased as there's a load of DC goodness there 😊. Star sapphire first appeared in 1962, her alter ego carol ferris is hal jordans (green lantern) on off girl friend...who first appeared in 1959...shes looking good for someone over 60! Here endeth the comics history lesson. Nice to see marvel ripping punters off with another 'anniversary' issue.
Aaah, thanks for that. And yes, she must be using some 'Super-L'Oreal' to look that young - I need it!!😜🤣 As always, thanks for watching and yes that Hulk 800 had the great main story but it just shows a lack of effort to not properly celebrate these anniversaries (and also make some more money by making more of a fuss?). They did same thing with Captain America a year or so ago, it just came and went and was all a bit mehhh.
@@geekyolhog yeah, i want to honestly love marvel more but they keep dropping the ball, in the 70s,80s and during the Jemas era late 90s/00s i used to like marvel equal to my loyalty to DC. But omg they frustrate me nowadays.
Erick Larsen gives more on his ever 25th issue than Marvel does with their books. Sure, they'll add the price but yeah. Marvel doesn't care about anything anymore. :(
That's such a shame for me because I still consider myself a Marvelite but the reality is that I'm increasingly a fan of the older stuff because not a lot of the new output is aimed at me...🥲
@geekyolhog I think that's somewhat natural. Certainly your disappointment. I'm a guy that's changed hobbies a lot over the years. I tend to go cold turkey when I move on and it could be for any number of reasons I do. Comics could be done overnight for me next week if I feel put out enough. Being in this hobby for as long as you have (not an age joke but would have been a good start) it makes sense you're invested and hurt. But the good news is that it's not the old days and comics have a hundred different avenues to explore if fans want. From back issues to different publishers. While Marvel experiments (I don't blame them. Things have changed) you can explore comics in a hundred different ways. But you know all that. I'll shut up now. 😉
@@DCPatrol hehe no way, shut up! I totally agree. At the moment, comics have never offered such a diverse array of genres and characters - its still the best hobby ever!
Wicked stuff! Fun variety of books!
Thanks, as always!
"We're going to have another look. I wanna have another look" Heh heh
I do love seeing all that DC! You're buying more than me! ;)
Wow, I can't believe that, you are literally their Patrol! I am honoured, sir!
im more of a marvel guy but this week was a huge week for dc for me as well

That's a mega haul, I do like it when you do a bigger rundown.
You like me waffling MORE? wow...
@@geekyolhog ill be totally honest and say yes, of course. Your comic knowledge and opinion well appreciated and I'll take more!
You know I made it this far!
You The Man if you got to 'if you've made it this far'!!! Love ya!!!😜

Good to hear that West Coast Avengers is at least worth taking a look at. And couldn't agree more that Bryan Hill is crushing Ultimate Black Panther
He really gets on with the storytelling, enjoying it!
