The first time I tasted it was on Saudia airlines flight. It was so good that I asked the hostess to bring me more and she gave me a mug full of it the second time. Bless her soul !!
The first time I tasted it, when I was living in Saudi Arabia, I didn't like it, but now I miss it so much, so delicious with good dates. Great memories from when I lived in this wonderful country.
I agree with Ryan Ireland, many Southest Asian people like Vn, Philippines, Myanmar or South Asian like Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka cannot return with their family or even dead there
This is a beautiful video, we in Qassim use a crushed roasted coffee with cardamom only, and we leave it to boil on fire for about 15 minutes, then serve with dates and desserts.
I'm only 14 and I drink Arabic coffee every day, it just gives me a taste of nostalgia for some reason. But I use Nestlè packets for this coffee. Saffron is my fav
I had it for the first time this weekend at Crepes and Karak in Vienna, Va and it was delicious! Will be back for more. It is clearly a work of love to make this lovely drink.
Enjoy this with a Twix. Seriously. Bite each end of the Twix and pull coffee through it like a straw until it hits your lips. Then take a bite of the Twix. Then take a sip of the al-qahwa. Incredible.
I remember i had a good friend who got his mum to prepare some and got some dates too and we sat in a scenic place and was awesome as we also brought some crisps too and it was one of my favourites even though i burnt my tongue.lol
I had Arabic coffee ( Kahwa ) at my Saudi friend house ... it tastes great......tried to make it at home but couldn't get the same taste ......will try you recipe......thanks for sharing Jazakallah khair

I wanna say thanks for this video, I tried it and it was so yummy, I recommend to people who never drink this type of coffee , {{{{ just try at least once }}}.
bunny gene dear bunny you can add as many as you want, if you like the strong cardamom flavor you can add up to 2 table spoons of uncrushed cardamom pieces, usually i put one table spoon on one liter of coffee. you can put your cardamom in plastic bag and crush them with any hard object, thats what i do usually to avoid cleaning the grinder:) p.s. be careful to mush cardamom can cause stomach ulcers. Ramadan kareem :D
Actually in India there is a place called tamilnadu her panalam same procedure it's very traditional drink it's not a coffee it's common drink for all even tea lovers also can drink.once you try that too.good drinks keeps you happy.thankyou
I tried this so many times and couldn’t stand it during travels Found be flavour odd and just too spice centred and the coffee not deep enough Fast forward 5 years had it again and surprisingly liked it,so much so I’m here trying to figure out how to have it I think it’s part changes to my pallet and partly nostalgia
Or also that Saudi coffee needs to be made with High quality ingredients to taste good, the ones serves in the airlines are poorly made, like even just a bad quality saffron would ruin the whole coffee
+Ale Vogel there is no specific label, it's a yemeni coffee beans that are roasted until they became golden or light brown, it is hard to find it in the U.S am not sure about Mexico though, thank you for your comment my dear, here are some websites that sell saudi style roasted coffee www.tomoorona.com/ground-arabic-coffee/ www.hashems.com/store/coffee/saudi-light-roast-16oz always go for light roast :)
It's "Arabica coffee beans". Buy it green, unroasted, and roast to a golden color, light roast. Grind coarse to help filter the beans afterward. The recipe is precize except for the ginger. Ginger is used in some regions only but mainstream it's without ginger.
Arabica beans is the variety most available in the west ( its a Columbian hybrid of the original yemeni blend) go for a medium roast and if not available get the raw green bean and just toast them on a non oiled/non stick pan for 15 to 20 mins on low heat until you get the roast grade you prefer( mind you Arabic coffee varies with the country and there is no such thing as a single standard) then grind and boil with fresh cold water then reduce to a simmer and add your aromatics ( clavo de olorx3, Cardamomo x 6, azafrán x 6) and salute enjoy.
zainul777 hello my dear the coffee beans that am using is just a regular coffee beans, the difference between arabic and american coffee for example is the way of roasting, for arabic coffee especially in the golf area the raw green beans are roasted until becomes golden yellow unlike coffee beans that is used to make different espresso drinks, such as americano, where they roast coffee until beans become dark brown. where to buy depends on where you live however you can always find raw coffee beans and roast it at home until becomes golden yellow:) please let me know if you have any questions.
You have filter it by using a strainer, you could also use a coarse grind to prevent powder from entering the cup but after letting the pot set for 5 minutes, most of the coffee would've settled at the bottom
This has a totally different taste, I didn't quite understand your question, but to make this arabic Saudi style you need a golden yellowish coffee beans.
