Ok. Now going to rewatch the Bodyguard for the 214th time. When Whitney is singing Jesus loves me, it’s so pure🥹 Thankful we have her music to listen to again and again. And Kevin Costner, man I like him in movies but never really saw him in interviews, so I’m didn’t have an opinion of him one way or the other, but when he just said that about music, “it doesn’t feel right” he got a great big ole check mark in the pro column, anyone that feels music is awesome!
Love Kevin Costners sense of vision on every project he takes on. A great director who knows " what sticks". He's also the best horseman I've ever seen on film - he picks healthy, well bred classy horses for film - not necessarily easy rides. But Horses trust him and will do anything for him. That means "He rings True". Like Clint he is a personally quiet thoughtful person and horses prefer/ trust that more than anyone who is the life of the party.
This was a great portion of the interview. What an awesome question to ask an awesome actor and delve into a well we otherwise would not have gotten a look into if not asked.
It's kind of amazing, 32 years later. That song drove me nuts back when we listened to radio all day. But then I grew up and discovered the great Whitney Houston. The greatest one of all. Kelly has many favourites - she's an Aretha and Mariah fan. But Whitney had the most beautiful and powerful voice of them all, and the most charisma when she performed. Everytime she sang - it looked like a scene from a film. Kevin remains as respectful to Whitney as he was the day he delivered her eulogy. He knew her at her very best. And most vulnerable. He remains her champion. ❤
I will say this to Kevin Costner on his idea for Whitney's a capella intro, he was right for letting her do it. Many radio stations like Adult Contemporary, Classic Hits, Adult R&B, etc if "I Will always Love You" is in their playlist will have that part. Other stations chose an edited version sans a capella. When the song originally came out in 1992 Top 40 or CHR stations also had that option in addition to the AC and R&B stations. If I ran say an A/C station, like a local WEBE 108 (107.9), I WOULD include the acapella...because that would be the beginning of a song that when the key change happened, and Whitney's voice went beyond the heavens, it would become as the NY Times' Stephen Holden put it "Houston transforms a plaintive country ballad into a towering pop-gospel assertion of lasting devotion to a departing lover. Her voice breaking and tensing, she treats the song as a series of emotional bursts in a steady climb toward a final full-out declamation. Along the way, her virtuosic gospel embellishments enhance the emotion and never seem merely ornamental." To say the song was a smash hit...THAT'S PUTTING IT MILDLY! It would win nearly every music award possible, including a few Grammies, American Music Awards, and so on. But then, in 2015, "I Will Always Love You" was named the No. 1 Song of the Rock Era in the book "The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era: 1955-2015" by author Rod Couch.

I heard the "big people" didn't want him to do the "Bodyguard" after he pushed for the movie, then they wanted Diana Ross. Kevin refused to do the movie without Whitney. I'm sure they felt small after the success of the movie. It's one of my ten favorite movies of all times.

He has had a conservative facelift and more than a few hair transplants. I think he has the best work of any male celebrity. He doesn't look young - he looks like an older version of himself. Men should never get their eyes done - think of Burt Reynolds or Kenny Rogers - so Kevin kept the eye bags but got the facelift and hairline help.

I'm glad you made this video, I can recall when I was homeless and faced with many things in Life until $75,000 biweekly began rolling in and my Life went from A homeless nobody to a different person with good things to offer!!!!!❤️
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my daughter's surgery (Joey). Glory to God.shalom.
What do you mean they don’t play it on the radio? In the Philippines, that’s an anthem even before the movie The Bodyguard came out. We love Whitney Houston! RIP❤️

Maybe she did it as a "Look at me NOW, you jerk!" because she is doing great now. She got rid of a horrible money-grubbing husband, & looks better than ever! All while HE is going through another divorce, his second, hehe.😊
It was "probably" him, but she never revealed the person's name. A man named Graeme something on here did some research & checked dates of her interviews & it was mist likely Kevin, plus he's on his 2ND divorce now. I hope it wasn't, but it was probably him...
There was so much taken out of the movie because they were trying not to show too much chemistry to avoid being controversial, considering the movie was interracial. Which kind left the majority of the movie dry. Their loves scenes were left on the floor because they were so intense. That's what Kev said🤷♀. That's why to me it felt like in some parts it was choppy and rushed. Their behind the scenes were more interesting relaxed.🤷♀
Love Kevin! so charming and humble! and he look good!
Kelly looks amazing. LOVE her. Always did. Kevin looks great as well. He seem like very genuine guy...
Okay but Kevin Costner still looks handsome ❤
He is. The bodyguard is one of my all time favorites.

One of the best songs ever!
Oh I love that song 😢❤
'The Bodyguard Soundtrack', to this day, is still the best selling soundtrack of all time and the best selling album by a female artist.

This was the first interracial kiss and relationship in a major film. Thats crazy it was in the early 90s
How ? It was not a big deal
@@lexkanyima2195 It was a big deal back then. That is one of the reasons why Whitney didn't want to do the movie. It took her a year to decide.

Liked the movie a lot. Cute plot but the chemistry between them wasn’t quite there. Could just be because it was her first film.
The lies you tell they have one of the best chemistries in cinema history🤡
