6:45 It would also help if Horizon was standing with his chest out, confidently looking at the gate where his opponent will come out of, just to see Peril and shrivel up, slouching and over all looking scared and pathetic
I really hope that the violence doesn't get censored compared to the novel and the graphic novel. Shows can get away with a lot as long as it isn't showing _humans_ experiencing violence.
That's true! We need to consider all audiences, so having a tone-down version of the scene would be good to limit graphic scenes and to still maintain the scene's message
It is a valid concern. Having to balance the writer's vision, scene's message and intended audience is extremely hard - I guess we'll just see what's happening with the show!
I can see opening scene being Hvitur taking skywing egg and then desperately trying to fly away and be unnoticed by guards then hiding from sandwings in storm but ended up being caught. What you said. Killings in TV series could be depicted by shadows and sounds, slashing, blurs, flashes... basically like in Lion King, while still remaining age appropriate for younger audience
Yeah, something that isn't too graphic would be good for all audiences. There is a fine line of showing some depictions, especially since the graphic details are used to show the power of Burn and the world's hostility. I do see what you mean by keeping it family-friendly though!
I also hope that the show dares to stick to some book descriptions that the graphic novel never did. Such as Queen Scarlet's intricate bejeweled chainmail, Burn's enormous size compared to her, or the architecture of the SkyWing palace complex. All were rather stunningly described, yet all official art so far has let us down in this regard. And while the events in the SkyWing prison above the arena are very well depicted in the GN, the way the prison itself is depicted also doesn't really make that much sense (though it is at least better than the recreation in the unofficial roblox game, that one makes _no_ sense and is completely underscaled).
One thing I'd really like to see is the design of the NightWings, especially Morrowseer! It may be difficult to capture a darker design with small details, so I'm really interesting in how they approach NightWing models.
I believe one of the biggest changes would be the fighting scene to meet our Dragonets 2:28 It would be very captivating for the audience as an action scene. But what do you think? How would you introduce the Dragonets?
I think each part (because each book usually has 3 parts) should be its own episode. Each arc could be its own season and maybe Dragonslayer and Darkstalker could be movies or smth.
my first reaction was: saw the vid on my feed, the '2 weeks' was shown like '2...' so I thought it was like, 2 years ago, and I was like :(, but then it was 2 weeks and I was like 'huuuuh??????' and then you said there was a new one and I was like :0 AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I am so exited, I really hope it does well. I hope it isn't like a 'how to train your dragon' and completely avoid the plot of the book tho
I really hope the show doesn't get delayed or outright removed. I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen more predictions even when the show was first announced. Maybe they flew under my nose or something
A neat way to heighten the impact of Peril's first onscreen battle would be to have the score completely fade out the moment Horizon throws himself at her, meaning we fully get to hear the sizzling and his screams of agony. This can further be contrasted by following this up with the cheers from the audience and the triumphant fanfare that you mentioned, underscoring the barbarity of Scarlet's arena. Cutting to Clay's reactions at key points could work both as a way to not overwhelm the viewer and make economical use of screentime. This silence/sounds of the gruesome fight -> triumphant cheering and fanfares transition probably works for several of the fights, now that I think about it. Messing with this pattern once established can also be a useful tool.
I'm glad you agree with some of the cinematic/sound choices I suggested! Film is such a hard medium to tackle because of the amount of ways the story can be portrayed, so seeing some similar ideas is a reassuring sight!
Yeah, I think that'd be pretty good, that idea reminds me of the Dune: Part Two arena scene for some reason. And it'd be more realistic, hearing the slashes during the fights and the sizzling.
Ooo, that's interesting. Dune: Part Two's arena scene was also a very good display of character and personality. I really hope we get the same level of character in Queen Scarlet’s arena!
@@DatOneDragon yeah it'd be nice. Worth those almost three hours although I felt like death getting home. XD I also hope they take things like Glory and Deathbringer, Tsunami and Riptide, Clay and Peril, etc, and develop those relationships. I really like romance in media. *-(laughs in being a hardcore Paul and Chani shipper which is mah otp ship after seeing Dune: Part Two)-*
Thanks for letting me know! I really want to make more predictions about the WoF show - it just takes a lot of time and effort to actually make these videos, haha!
I really hope they keep in the part where Starflight is forced to fight scavengers. It feels like such a throwaway scene, but if you pay attention it really helps establish that yes, scavengers are really capable of killing dragons if they try. At first it feels like it's just because it Starflight, who's flighty and non-confrontational, but it acts as both a show of character as well as well placed foreshadowing for the truth behind Queen Oasis' death. Because she really was killed by a scavenger.
It definitely plays well into the story, and the actual power that scavengers have! Having Starflight (and Tsunami) experience this in the arena would definitely shine more light on scavengers as a whole while expanding the DoD's character
The part where Clay and Tsunami meet Scarlet should be the same as the book, it seems pointless that the scavenger was there but it ties in to the Dragonslayer legend, I believe that scavenger is Mushroom, Thyme's brother, this I believe ties into when thyme steals from the skating palace (this is just a guess but why else would scarlet appear right after they found the scavenger if she wasn't hunting it down after it stole from the palace)
I think 10 episodes for the first arc is plenty, especially if each of them are 40 minutes long - so 2 episodes per book for Arc 1. Maybe extra episodes for Winglets may be introduces of the team is given enough funding, which would be super cool!
I am curious about how much, if at all, the studio executives and script writers would try to incorporate events from the Dragonslayer book into the series, since much of it runs parallel to the events of Arc 1, but they never really cross over to each other. Plus Dragonslayer's plot and characters only really become 'relevant' by the time Arc 3 comes around, which is going to be a long time to get any kind of payoff.
Someone suggested that Dragonslayer would be turned into a movie rather than a series, which I agree with! It would probably release... maybe before Arc 3? I'm not entirely sure. It helps clear up a lot of plot in Arc 3
Thanks! I wanted to find a balance with appeasing the WoF fandom and new cinematic twists (like the adjusted practice fight) to add to the world and characters!
I could imagine seeing clay straight up annoying the hell out of fjord fan questions this leads up to what happens here 8:50 similar to the original novel version
I just realized I have always seen the series as a live action but I doubt it would be because I would imagine it’s hard to make an entire series about dragons in live action (I absolutely love most live action movies so I do have a slight hope it’s like one of those art styles when it’s almost as if it’s live action but it’s not) Thank you if you read the entire thing
Live action would be interesting for the series, it gives us a real view of Tui's vision of dragons that can't be shown through graphic novels. The amount of detail in live action films are amazing. I don't know much about the fan-base's view on it though. It would certainly be an interesting mix! Thank *you* for commenting and you're very welcome! I absolutely love reading and responding to comments! I hope seeing this made you feel better! :)
Haha I'm far from it, but I'm glad you enjoyed it and felt immersed! I like to pick apart the best parts of film, and I decided to put the best elements into the Wings of Fire episode! Of course, my ideas still need improvement haha
Ah that's a shame.. Maybe the first episode can be released on other platforms like TH-cam? And then the rest would be on Prime. It's a small solution but very very small
It would be the biggest honor to have Tui watch even one of my videos! But I know I'm such a small dot in the sea of internet that I won't get noticed at all haha. However, I do appreciate everyone who's tuned in so far!

Me too! Although it's a taboo topic, it helps illustrate the hostility of the world which is a great contrast to the DoD's family-like bond
I think blood would be fine... As long as fjord's death in the arena is a little toned down. That might be a bit much...
