I got into sewing because I'm plus size and (no offense to anyone else) but yeah, plus size clothes are an eyesore. We want baggy clothes like everyone else. We want oversized sweaters with arm sleeves that are our actual length and collars that aren't suffocating or sooo baggy it looks bad lol. We literally want the same clothes as everyone else, but they never do that for us. We get shapeless florals. I've never sewn for anyone else, but going from knowing zero to sewing a basic tshirt for myself took a few days of learning. That's ALSO without ever touching a sewing machine in my life. I say this to say, If I can figure out, why hasn't target? Simple answer - because they don't want to. We aren't forgotten, we are discarded. * for anyone making patterns for themselves, use your belly measurement for your clothes instead of solely relying on your bust line*

Yesss I love the care and attention that gets put into making these pieces! I wish more brands would learn from her. I also love Zoe Hong! So happy that you also like her videos!

I don't find clothes too bad and I can make my own. The real problem is shoes. In the mind of shoe designers, a wide foot means old, matronly woman. Try finding wide fit high heeled shoes.

Yep! And heaven forbid you have any other foot issues such as bunions, hammer toe, high arch or being flat footed 😑

This is a really good explanation for how plus size brands can be thoughtfully designed. I hope the Marc Alexandrin brand continues to be successful.

For decades fashion designers dressed plus-sized women in what was basically sacks. Sure the item may have come with a belt or some design embellishment, but it was still a sack. I believe the fashion designers did this so we wouldn't be seen. Their thought process was if you weren't a size 0-6, you didn't deserve to dress in nice things.
