Are these women really petite? When I go to buy pants now petite is 5’7” I’m 5’4” it’s a nightmare!
Try being a true petite…..4’10”!

If you look up the average height for women in USA it is 5' 4" That height is NOT short! I am short being 5' 1" You indicate having a problem to
find clothes that fit being a "nightmare.". Try being 5' 1". Visulize trying to find pants if you were 3 inches shorter then 5' 4" Or long sleeve tops, or jacket/coat sleeves because the length of your arms are short for these clothes to fit right.
@@suzannelawson9215 That is what I’m saying, when I buy petite pants they measure 5’7” that’s not what I call petite . I have to get my pants hemmed, I have to roll up my sleeves on all long sleeve tops and coats so anyone shorter than me has it even worse.

I love and appreciate this video. It explains and the images makes understanding the concepts well. The only thing that would make me more happy is knowing where to find the clothes. In a world where every other TH-cam, "influencer" are trying to sell you something, or get a "small commission" The only one that I would love to shop at is the one that does not link items. LOL

QVC is a great place for Petites!
Pencil skirts may look better, but they're like high heels, really uncomfortable to wear.
You seem to have confused peplum with empire waist style. A peplum is a flared segment that starts at the natural waist or a bit lower, it’s usually around 6-8 inches that falls over the hips. The photos are showing empire waists that are just below the bust and flowing out from there. Also, I note that the length of the tops you say are ending at the waist are actually ending just below the hip and actually covering the crotch of the pants. The waist, even on those of us with an apple shape, is far above that. There are some good ideas here, but the conflicting ideas between the narration and the photos just causes more confusion.
I agree! For example, at 5:58, she's talking about waist-length tops, but the example she's showing is low hip, an entirely different thing!
I have found these videos to be very helpful. But I don’t feel comfortable tucking in shirts. I know that’s supposed to give you a more defining shape. But I hate the way I look from the side. I wish there was someone on TH-cam that would also focus on the side view. I have no confidence in how I look from the side, and videos like that would help tremendously. It’s always about the front view.

Thank you. My apple-shaped, post-menopause body is new to me and I've had no idea how to dress it. I used to be an adventurous dresser, but I gradually lost confidence about my looks because I simply looked old and frumpy in my choices.
A fake line of buttons on a skirt: great! Real buttons? No-either they gape open or rip right off when we with thick thighs sit down!

Go Women’s Petites, aka Petite Plus. I got older, disabled and chubby,not TALLER. And I still have a waist, a large bust and booty.
I'd like to see where one should buy these tops. I know of only one store that manufactures petite plus--Talbots. If there are more, those resources are what I need.

I really like the dark color skirts shown on the models but NOT the white skirts at all! Not slimming color to wear be it a skirt or pants.

I didn't see anything that I would wear. Tight and revealing isn't pretty.
I do not think the choices would make the ladies look slimmer, they shows all the bumps...now if the clothes are about showing all the bumps then those clothes shown are perfect!
Peplum is not usually cut right under boobs like babydoll but cut and slimfit at waistline highlinghting this part as slimmer.
Where can we find these clothes? Or are they plus size and then require a tailor? I echo one lady who indicated Talbots is the only plus-petite store but they have all but killed the plus size choices by trying to dress plus-size women the same as regular sizes (which is impractical). I love the styles you show here. So classy. I would also like to see some very casual styles and how to look more elegant while out having fun.

This is the first time I recall seeing tunic tops recommended for plus-sized petites, with the guidance about length. It’s startling how much of a difference a few inches can make! And the ‘warning’ about peplums, which generally get a thumbs up from other videos. Very interesting and effective advice here!

My problem too. Diagnosed with lymphodema a few years ago. Changed my life in many ways. I always wear trousers/ pants to hide my legs and the compression stockings I have to wear. So, advice would really help as you know your 'stuff.'

I found it interesting that all your models were smiling. They looked as if they were enjoying the look they were showcasing and they felt so classy and were happy to be seen.
So different from major catwalk fashion shows in which the models try to convey a lack of emotion. These top models do not show that they are enjoying the fabulous fashion they are wearing. This detracts from the outfit.

What about advice for flattering dresses for petite plus sizes.
I find that as a plus size woman, some peplum tops are flattering to me as I am an hour glass with a flat tummy…a longer peplum is too much for my hips.

Waist length or high hip tops are SO hard to find! Especially in Plus. They slim and lengthen, but where or where to find them?

Really? I find it hard to find the longer length. Most decent-quality tops I see are 24" or less, and I won't wear them. I only buy tops that are at least 27" and they're hard to find. When I do, I buy as many as I can in different colors.
Just to add, as someone else pointed out, when she says "waist length," she's actually showing tops that hit at the crotch. Those are the ones I look for, but they are NOT waist length by any stretch of the imagination!
This was very informative. Of course, these are all plus size models who exude confidence....which alot of us don't have. I do wish there were links for some of their gorgeous items. At 5 foot... my biggest problem is finding the width without it being so darn long!!!!

FYI: an empire waistline is not the same thing as a peplum. Button front clothing works only for those figures that are conventionally proportioned. Most of these suggestions are unflattering and frumpy, tbh.

I am very short, and I will use this video to help make alterations to my clothes. I have some tops that work well for me & others that are similar but don't look good. Now I know that it is the length. Good thing I'm handy with a sewing machine! Usually I am just shortening the pants. My latest find is that capri pants usually fit just right as long pants for me. Unfortunately, around here, those are only sold in the summertime.

I am gonna be 60 soon. I don't wear belts at the waist or under the bust line. I tend to wear nice tops but not the pants that are shown here. I am only 5 feet obe inch tall. I tend to like more loose girly stuff. I cant wear heels anymore. I dont like anything that really shows my tummy. But some good styles here

Thank God there are other designers for us 5’1 and over weight. They are beautiful pieces, but not my style, I have many pieces like the ones you are showing, but years ago and with a more expensive piece!
