Thank you for this video. You have carefully thought out what items flatter us. I am glad that I see items that other style channels label as in or out of fashion. You are the only one I have seen that focuses on what flatters us. Bravo. You are my new style channel. Your topics are exactly what we need and your words are kind and encouraging. Please continue with your wonderful videos.❤
This is the first time I recall seeing tunic tops recommended for plus-sized petites, with the guidance about length. It’s startling how much of a difference a few inches can make! And the ‘warning’ about peplums, which generally get a thumbs up from other videos. Very interesting and effective advice here!
Thank you. My apple-shaped, post-menopause body is new to me and I've had no idea how to dress it. I used to be an adventurous dresser, but I gradually lost confidence about my looks because I simply looked old and frumpy in my choices.
My sympathies... I'm going through the same.... I feel old N horrible .. . I used to be very adventurous with my hair , jet black back with bright colours at front. I need bleached white hair as a base for the bright colours... . Dare not bleach my hair anymore as my hair is falling out tons every time I wash I dread to think how much I'd lose with bleach. So now my hair is natural, full of grey N I feel old N frumpy. I'm going to have to just blue/black the lot.... At least grey will be covered!!
I’m 71. I made up my mind that I would not confine my clothing colors to black, grey, navy and burgundy. I wear bold color combinations like peacock and raspberry. Weather permitting I wear skirts and dresses. A black pencil skirt with bold print or silk blouse, a pair of low heel pumps (never ballet flats) and statement jewelry garner me compliments each time I run errands. I learned how to apply false eyelashes in brown instead of black and I wear cherry red lipstick. I refuse to be frumpy.
I love and appreciate this video. It explains and the images makes understanding the concepts well. The only thing that would make me more happy is knowing where to find the clothes. In a world where every other TH-cam, "influencer" are trying to sell you something, or get a "small commission" The only one that I would love to shop at is the one that does not link items. LOL
I LOVED YOUR SUGGESTIONS, I have always felt better inmonochromatic outfits. You have just reinforced my reasons why. Loved your suggestions from a 5'3 size 2x 77 year old. Thank you.
I watch your videos very carefully, you pay a lot of attention to details, and I pause the video to look at them. Crosses and checkmarks make this even better, especially for those who don't know the language very well. Thank you for your wonderful work for us...
This was very informative. Of course, these are all plus size models who exude confidence....which alot of us don't have. I do wish there were links for some of their gorgeous items. At 5 foot... my biggest problem is finding the width without it being so darn long!!!!
@@lianeabeyta4515 totally agree with you! It is SO frustrating to need one size length and a much different size for width! And the cost of tailoring is high as, if not higher than, the price of the garment!
Thank you for a video for us short gals! Now, the big question - where do you find these styles? Ideally, where would they not cost an arm and a leg and your first-born?
If you look up the average height for women in USA it is 5' 4" That height is NOT short! I am short being 5' 1" You indicate having a problem to find clothes that fit being a "nightmare.". Try being 5' 1". Visulize trying to find pants if you were 3 inches shorter then 5' 4" Or long sleeve tops, or jacket/coat sleeves because the length of your arms are short for these clothes to fit right.
@@suzannelawson9215 That is what I’m saying, when I buy petite pants they measure 5’7” that’s not what I call petite . I have to get my pants hemmed, I have to roll up my sleeves on all long sleeve tops and coats so anyone shorter than me has it even worse.
I so much appreciate seeing models with realistic figures. Those runway models who look like they just strolled out of a concentration camp don’t inspire me to want to imitate their fashions.
I’m also pleased to see realistic bodies that model clothes. Flattering clothes should be available in more sizes. A size 18 petite would fit me perfectly with shorter arm lengths and shorter nape to waist measurements.

I am very short, and I will use this video to help make alterations to my clothes. I have some tops that work well for me & others that are similar but don't look good. Now I know that it is the length. Good thing I'm handy with a sewing machine! Usually I am just shortening the pants. My latest find is that capri pants usually fit just right as long pants for me. Unfortunately, around here, those are only sold in the summertime.
I applaud your use of a sewing machine. It saddens me that home sewing is no longer taught in schools. I wonder where we will find our future generation of fashion designers.
I'd like to see where one should buy these tops. I know of only one store that manufactures petite plus--Talbots. If there are more, those resources are what I need.
Thank you, I am so happy that I came across this channel. I'm 62 years old and I am in such confusion on how to personal style my pear shape body. Nothing looks good on me because of my shape, and I am always recharging clothes while getting ready for events because nothing feels right or look right on my body😢
Where can we find these clothes? Or are they plus size and then require a tailor? I echo one lady who indicated Talbots is the only plus-petite store but they have all but killed the plus size choices by trying to dress plus-size women the same as regular sizes (which is impractical). I love the styles you show here. So classy. I would also like to see some very casual styles and how to look more elegant while out having fun.

Really? I find it hard to find the longer length. Most decent-quality tops I see are 24" or less, and I won't wear them. I only buy tops that are at least 27" and they're hard to find. When I do, I buy as many as I can in different colors.
Just to add, as someone else pointed out, when she says "waist length," she's actually showing tops that hit at the crotch. Those are the ones I look for, but they are NOT waist length by any stretch of the imagination!

I have the same issue. I found that waterfall type skirts and dressy, crew neck type blouses work very well for me. If you have nice arms, the high neck halter blouses also look pretty good with plain pants. In blouses, I have to buy a 14 and have them tailored to take in the extra fabric around the waist. If you sew, it won’t be expensive. I don’t, and only can afford a couple of blouses. Hope this helps. It’s so frustrating.
