Another tactic to blow up pontoon bridge was to cross it, use Nebelwerfer rocket artillery and then sail back across river by driveable pontoon. I based my modified H&D Deluxe Ardennes campaign on its MOHAA Spearhead counterpart thats why i added Nebelwerfer and Flak 88s. Earlier version of this mission featured Stug III guarding the bridge. I also added more collisions to Winter tree models in the whole Ardennes campaign, so enemies cannot see and shoot player through dense foliage anymore like in vanilla mission.
Good work. Is there another way to deal with that Flak on the opposite side? .. The operator is well hidden, and I'm not sure if it's in a safe firing range for rockets. The zigzag run could be faster and safer on the jeep.

As the Panzerchreck has max effective range of about 150 meters (the same as the visibility / detection range of the Flak88 gunner) you could try to use that rocket launcher to destroy the position without being shot at. Anyway, meanwhile I looked again into the mission and replaced that particular Flak 88 with a pair of static Flak 20mm AA guns. It was unfair and unrealistic for the player to be targeted like that while crossing the pontoon bridge not being able to retaliate at the same time. Like you pointed out, it was not obvious what to do in that situation. I also added a ladder on the pier to get to the driveable pontoon more conveniently. I posted the update on H&D forums and I plan to update the mod on ModDB as well in a near future when time allows.
Thanks for playing the mission and checking out new weapons. You used Panzerchreck very well. This is one of my favourite missions from H&D Deluxe and it offers few possibilities for placing new stuff as you saw (artillery, tanks, etc).
Yes, Ardennes missions are my favorite too. The enemy AI behavior is much improved overall in H&D Fight for Freedom, and the campaigns have different experience from the first game.
In the Ardennes 2 mission you will encounter heavy tanks and artillery too, so watch out. Flanking attacks can be usefull to deal with them, but keep in mind about the various minefields in the area. Anyway, i hope you enjoyed seeing new equipment in my modded missions. Those custom artillery such Flak88 are also usable by the player, you can fire from them too.
@@p.jakub88 Great job here adding more enemies and artillery while maintaining the original enemies with variable behaviours. That applies to all enemies in the Ardennes Campaign.
