I think there's something really important about putting the effort in and saving what we can- physical media and restoration is an artform unto itself and can be just as important as what's on it
I would take a risk and pay a tenner. My priority then would be to see what the vinyl conditions is, and if it could be straightened/cleaned up to be able to play. Edit: Potlatch is the second album from Native American rock band Redbone, 1970 release. On Discogs the album with the media mint and the sleeve near mint is going for €28. Yours is a uk first press
It’s heartbreaking, so many fab records.. I would try cleaning them all and see what could be salvaged. Worth a tenner for the Paranoid Vertigo Swirl alone.
Gnidrolog : In Spite Of Harry's Toenail. Very rare RCA album. Even if the sleeve is trashed, if the vinyl is nice that's well worth keeping. There will be collectors looking for better copies of it for sure. For salvageable albums, you didn't do bad there. The Pete Atkin l.p. is a very pleasant listen. Clive James, the lyricist became a T.V. personality years back...
Oh man, that kills me seeing Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends in that condition. I've been wanting to find a copy of that myself for years but haven't over here in the US. Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
I would a bought it too!! 10 P is a bargain, plus I have a machine that would fix the vinyl, but I'd throw most of the covers. Decent purchase in my opinion
Just dismissed Easy Rider, one of counter culture’s most important movies and the first to have a soundtrack made up of existing and commissioned songs! 😂. Some great albums there, shame about the condition
This is heartbreaking, but an abject lesson in storing and protecting vinyl. Keep your albums in poly sleeves (not PVC) and put them in poly lined inner sleeves. I know that hindsight is a wonderful thing, but those sleeves and inners would probably have protected this collection. I would have given the poor bloke a tenner and took a punt on them like yourself, to have offered him a fiver would've only rubbed salt into his wounds. My heart goes out to any fellow record collector whose collection has been destroyed in this way. Though I have bought a job lot of albums and 12" singles before that were flood damaged, but miraculously the records were ok, except for a couple that were badly warped and the sleeves were trashed on a lot of them. But to see some classics in there is gut wrenching...
Keep black sabbath and deep purple sparks blind faith and one or two others . Where the inner sleeve stuck onto the record or where mouldy you might be able to clean those up. Unwarp some by storing them under a heavy weight for a few years! 😂
Heartbreaking to see quality records like that in such dreadful condition, but for £10 you did well..no wonder the seller was choked..! At the end of the day you have managed to get a few gems, and some will just need some deep cleaning. At least you can keep the better condition vinyl and wait til you find decent sleeves and then you can Frankenstein them. Earlier this year i was given a mates' entire record collection of singles 12" and LPs..he'd kept them in a cabinet inside a metal storage container for over 10 years, sadly many had been destroyed by mould and damp and i had to trash about 60% of them..loads of punk/ new wave British metal 45s and metal/ rock albums..gone forever... In Search of Space is a fantastic album, in good condition and with the Log book, those can fetch up to £100. The Sparks album is a reissue of their debut that was first released in 1971 and reissued in 1974 due to their popularity in the UK and the success of Kimono My House..produced by Todd Rundgren it's quite quirky, a decent listen. Heavy Metal Kids was Gary Holtons' band ( he of Auf Wiedershen Pet fame) Interesting to see a follow up video to see which ones you could save and keep. Thanks for showing.
The GNIDROLOG lp is fantastic have a listen have seen this go in good nick for more than 100 but its an incredible listen to prog fans also the beefheart lp might be trashed cover but really worth listening to also savoy brown raw sienna but there is plenty of brilliant music to listen to there is a massive musical journey there , bumpers is probably the best various artist compilation from island
Buyers beware. I did shed a tear or two over some of those records. If you are storing them in an unsafe place keep them covered with a heavy blanket or tarp. I had to split up watching your video due to it's length but I did see everything.
You don't need me to tell you what a tragedy this was. Some very collectible titles in there. Probably a four figure number on that crate were it not for a leaky roof!😭
Hi mate I don’t know if you’ve binned these or not but there’s definitely a few I’d pay a few quid for just to fill gaps in my collection condition bad or not 🤟🏽
Even in that condition the Black Sabbath album you should easily get your money and maybe a bit of a profit. I have the Easy Rider album but the album is full of scratches
I would have paid £10 for that lot. I’m pretty sure I have had some that look in the same state and needed a good clean, disinfectant, prayers ect..but they have come up alright until I find a better copy… it yeah well worth £10 just to have a look
Label Island Records - IDP 1 Format: 2 x Vinyl, LP, Sampler, Stereo Country: UK Released: 1970 Genre: Rock, Reggae Style: Folk Rock, Pop Rock, Prog Rock, Avantgarde, Reggae-Pop, Psychedelic Rock, Acoustic, Classic Rock
The captain beef heart and the rare doors la woman cover. You should at least take the plastic cellophane picture of the doors from the die cut original curved corners LP and if the yellow inner sleeve is there, it has Jesus or Jim Morrison on a telephone pole instead of a cross
Interesting video, but the black Sabbath album is probably worth more than you paid, some of the other ones would probably be okay, but you would have to clean them a few times, I'd check all of them just to check there nothing really rare in this lot, but I'd say you did ok, and it was interesting content for a video, keep up the good work, cheers, Dave 😊
Fun and yet painful to watch at the same time. I suppose you'll get people accusing you of purposefully ruining a box of minty records just for views 🙄 It was well worth the tenner 👍
Maby just give the bad ones away to someone? When i see records in this bad shape i do everything in my power to save every record. Like to do that, to bad i live in the Netherlands... would have love to pick those up.
I have btw a way to get stuck covers of from other sleeves. (after they are already seperated). If laminated is stuck use sticker-remover if not use saliva (i know it sounds weird but it really works). And when there is mold on the covers i use an special homemade solution with bleach and most of the time it will completly disapear (but it takes alot of time and effort).
Black Sabbath - Paranoid; The pink writing inside the gatefold - if it has the Jim Simpson & Big Bear credits on it then DON'T throw it out as it is rare. I can tell you, however, that this is NOT a first-press copy because if you look at the vinyl on the side that has the song "Hand Of Doom" on it then first-press copies appear to have just 3 tracks on it when in fact there are 4. I can see that your copy appears to have 4 songs so this is a later pressing. But still - Don't throw that cover away if it has the print I describe. Please let me know if it does. Best regards
Big shame about the condition considering the classic titles and pricer bits. At least the Sabbath is decent and looks like an early if not first press? Clouds Scrapbook is a really nice lp and worth a few quid. I bet the track you like by Jethro Tull is Dharma For One, heavier beats. Gnidrolog is quite left field prog and worth a few bob. Their 2nd lp is better and even more sought after. Terry Reid is well regarded. Checkout Superlungs My Supergirl. You'd like the Ananda Shankar lp....funky sitar tracks with beats....great version of Jumpin' Jack Flash. Shankar & His Music lp (Indian only release) is even better... Streets Of Calcutta and Dancing Drums. Check em' out on YT....funky stuff for the beat heads! Cheers Nigel
That blind faith lp had the naked underage little girl holding the chrome toy plane. A very rare cover but totally destroyed. Some people would think that is a good thing because it is now politically incorrect
So sad to see this, even if they were all VG condition it'd be a great haul. It's heartbreaking to see originals of Doors debut, Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman end up like that, as well as a tasteful collection that was once loved just ruined. It's a shame you always seem more interested in money and the value than the music, you've had plenty of copies of Paranoid and it's far from the only good one. On the plus side, even though there's a ton of good music in that collection, there are no major rarities, thank goodness! 🙂
It was sad to see what rain has done to all that classic vinyl, a 10er could be something in there, take chance you never know, but the rain played havoc it is ashamed, Sorry, Steve. Hope the bootleg is something.
What a shame! Bad luck! Luckily Deep Purple got away with this shitty rain! Also Black Sabbath got rather good away with it! That's the debut album of Creedence Clearwater Revival, what a shame! Debut album also from Roxy Music, pppfff José Feliciano good artist, I recommand his album A Bag full of soul! Great album! I discovered that album last year when I bought a collection of vintage records. Ooo The Doors, best band ever!!! Redbone had big hit with We were all wounded at Wounded Knee. Yeah Easy Rider great soundtrack also Jimi Hendrix Experience with When 6 was 9. And Steppenwolf of course with Born To Be Wild!,but here we can talk of Born to be Wet! The Doors Strange Days of Water Damaga! I have that lp of John Mayall and mine is a split lp with another album of him in the other sleeve of that double sleeve. That Orson Wells is a rare album I guess. Deep Purple got rather good away with the water luckily! Morrison Hotel, what a shame pfff! But after all, you can put all the good vinyls in sleeves and search the right sleeves from these albums! Check my 2 latest vinyl record videos on my channel also! Greetz Jason from belgium
Ha ha ha, love the way you picked up Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends and just put it away without comment!
Yeah jimmy page and John Bonham
Thanks.
What is it?
I think there's something really important about putting the effort in and saving what we can- physical media and restoration is an artform unto itself and can be just as important as what's on it
Brilliant video!!!... Great fun guessing the album from the mullered cover.... I see a brilliant niche TV game show idea here..
Glad you enjoyed it
Wooowww....the guy knew very well what he was listening to...only gems !!!
The Black Sabbath on Vertigo is quite collectable just check the matrix run out number clean the record and try and source a sleeve
Feel his pain. Had a load of old punk vinyl sitting in a garden shed for 12 yrs. 😢 I lost so much.
It’s heartbreaking, so many fab records.. I would try cleaning them all and see what could be salvaged. Worth a tenner for the Paranoid Vertigo Swirl alone.
Great video I would of paid a £10 loads of vinyl that can be cleaned and saved white card outers with the name on
Gnidrolog : In Spite Of Harry's Toenail. Very rare RCA album. Even if the sleeve is trashed, if the vinyl is nice that's well worth keeping. @iainneville7137 used to be rare gone way down in price still£60 tho

I'd have given a tenner aswell..unless your trying to sell them on you can still play most of the vinyl
Only watched this halfway so far, gotta watch the rest after the football...bloody hell mate,Ziggy Stardust wrecked, what a choker 🎶
And worth a tenner for the Sabbath tho, hold onto it a sleeve will come up sometime 👍
I think the rainbow colored sleeve one is Stage Fright by the Band.
Thank you.
you cant go wrong for a tenner, if the records are alright, all you need to do is find a decent sleeve.
You win some, you lose some. I reckon that debut Sparks lp might be worth holding on to even though it’s 47 years overdue!
Use what you can for some original art design or scrapbook idea
HI, Wow, very old Records. But nice Albums. 🤩
Oh dear - Blind Faith one of the greatest rock albums that have ever been issued.
The gnidrolog album is quite rare mate!
Still very cool to see, many thanks 🤘👍👊✌️
Glad you enjoyed it.

Many record covers are so damaged that you can't save them. I think you were lucky with Black Sabbath.
Keep black sabbath and deep purple sparks blind faith and one or two others . Where the inner sleeve stuck onto the record or where mouldy you might be able to clean those up. Unwarp some by storing them under a heavy weight for a few years! 😂

Ones for sure you want be buying a water damaged box of records again. At least you have entertained us.
That's right all in the name of entertainment!
That album is the band stage fright good album!
Buyers beware. I did shed a tear or two over some of those records. If you are storing them in an unsafe place keep them covered with a heavy blanket or tarp. I had to split up watching your video due to it's length but I did see everything.
LOL, this is brutal, everything valuable stuck - except for the postit that supposed to stick...
39:22 The Band - Stage Fright

No joy, I’m afraid - he had to return them the next day/shortly after filming :)
Even in that condition the Black Sabbath album you should easily get your money and maybe a bit of a profit. I have the Easy Rider album but the album is full of scratches
What a bummer 😔
What were the grooves on the records like?
I would have paid £10 for that lot. I’m pretty sure I have had some that look in the same state and needed a good clean, disinfectant, prayers ect..but they have come up alright until I find a better copy… it yeah well worth £10 just to have a look
Tenner sounds about right for a gamble. (I’m saying that at start of the video..let’s see)

the Sabbath was a good find... as a hip hop collector i'm interested, do you still have these records and what were you faves?
If there's a hell,,, this surely is it,,, good ol'Sabbathvertigo for the win,,,
The Lord sutch album has half of LED Zeppelin backing him up jimmy page and John Bonham

Hi! I am interested in buying the whole box if you want to sell it.
the gnidrolog is very rare
You have a sense of humor near mint😂
Ananda Shankar is a sick record
That blind faith lp had the naked underage little girl holding the chrome toy plane. A very rare cover but totally destroyed. Some people would think that is a good thing because it is now politically incorrect
I ALWAYS SAY 🎵 DON'T JUDGE AN LP BY IT'S COVER 🎵

5 I would of grabbed them also
The beefheart record goes for hundreds
Thanks for letting me know.
Can I buy Gnidrolog?
I don't think they swing that way!
What’s the blurring of the video all about?….starts with the Black Sabbath vinyl around about 6:40. You on the run😂
40:18 Osibisa

You're getting brave showing the vinyl 😂
Don’t worry about that - our intrepid provider has had a brass neck for quite a while with most of his “finds”
Im going to have nightmares ! Wanna donate the paranoid ?
This is hard to watch for a vinyl nut like myself
Every week’s a hard watch fella - until you see the funny side!
I would have paid nothing. They are ruined, personally I would not have even taken them to a boot sale to begin with .
True, I did wonder why they brought them but then I bought them so I am not sure who is worse lol.
I would have took a gamble at $5
No it was on the right side
50 quid for an Alice Cooper album?!
Are they.
...after all its all plastic and paper...clean the better records and put them in generic sleeves...you can still listen to them.
Agreed, thank you!
No comments? How odd . . . 😶
Wot, no comments.
I think it was the band?
I love Black Sabbath if you listen to Metallica For Whom The Bell Tolls parts of the song reminds me of Faries Were Boots .
Thanks for the info. I will look into that.
I’ll go to thousands boot sale vinyl shops auctions . NO way in a million years you could buy them for £10 They don’t exist
I guess I get lucky or maybe I make an effort.
Easy rider soundtrack is classic don't dismiss it!!!
I’d give you £50 for them straight off the bat
Are the records still worth the full price despite the bad covers? I think so, because the vinyl is still in good condition.
Depressing.., such great records... all trash...
I know, so sad!
Hard to see this Covers in this Bad Condition 🥲
