    Euchre is not very popular in the US and mainly played in a small area of states like Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Awesome to see someone outside the states playing it 😎

    Here's what I would have liked to have seen- picking up all 4 hands and assessing whether to pick up or not and then a few rounds where you are playing each hand based on what's been played.

    11:00 I'd go alone in Diamonds. You will most likely Trump the first trick with your King or take it with the Ace of Hearts, if hearts is led. If your opponent Trumps in with the Ace you can take with either Jack and draw out the rest of the Trump with the remaining two trump in your hand. Then Your Ace of hearts should be good. The Queen will likely ride through as well.
    Your opponents will hold their Aces and are more likely to take out your King on the last trick.

    • @elijahmorrow1984
      @elijahmorrow1984 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you go alone hearts you are gaurenteed 4 tricks in almost every scenario, and then that lets you lead in the least trick, which would mean unless an opponent has the ace of diamonds and kept it until the last trick, the king rides through

    • @kingrex1931
      @kingrex1931 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elijahmorrow1984 Either way you are getting a point, the idea of going alone is to get all five tricks. If one of your opponents has the Ace of Diamonds, they will likely hold it until the end or Diamonds will be led it on the first trick. This is a likely scenario. In order for you to not take out the Ace of Diamonds if Diamonds is trump, one of your opponents would need to have at least three of the remaining four Diamonds in the hand, an unlikely scenario. To take out the non-Trump Queen of Hearts, an opponent would need the King of Hearts, plus a second heart. They would also have to hold both hearts until a heart is led, which is less likely than someone holding an offsuit Ace.

    My biggest question with Euchre is what do you do when you only have low cards of a mixed suite? A hand of 9 jacks and hearts seems hard to rock with

    12:09 You should lead the 10 of hearts and hold the King until the end. The 10 should draw out the Ace and after you use your two bowers the king should take the last trick.

    • @kingrex1931
      @kingrex1931 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RonnyDonny13 You can be burned with any strategy. Leading the 10 is the best strategy because your partner might take that trick. You have two hearts and one diamond, so it is less likely your partner has a heart, which would allow him to trump in on the trick or they could have the Ace. You have to play the best possible strategy. The King is the worst possible lead.

      I'm fairly new at this game, but I was thinking throw out the 9 of diamonds to reduce the amount of suits in my hand, my partner could have the highest diamond or trump it with the 9 of spades, but since "I" ordered up that 9, wouldn't the other team have the lead? Anyway if they take the trick and lead anything but the ace of hearts I can take it and put down the two jacks that's 3 tricks

    • @kingrex1931
      @kingrex1931 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stag6161 If you played the 9, you would void yourself in Diamonds, but it is unlikely that diamonds will be led again. The idea behind leading the 10 of hearts is to draw out the Ace, if this happens you would be left with the highest heart. You have both bowers, so that is two tricks right off the top. If you end up with the last lead, which is likely, Trump could be exhausted and you would be left with the King of hearts as your last card, making it good for the last trick. There is also a higher likelihood that your partner could trump in and take Hearts than Diamonds since you have two out of six hearts in your hand but only one Diamond.

    Are there any specific videos on how to read your partner? I'd have a competitive edge if I wasn't always trying to get all three tricks myself and making inefficient use of my partner. But with some partners, you do want to try to get the three tricks yourself, either because your partner is just getting bad luck or because they're not totally with it.

    • @howto...solvepuzzles

      Good question. When I'm calling, I try to have at least two good cards in my hand and hope my partner can win one trick. This is usually successful 80% to 90% of the time. Perhaps discuss a strategy with your partner before the game..

      One thing to look for is if it's an early trick and your partner throws off, they are probably voiding a suit or throwing away a card below an Ace. For example, If Spades are Trump and hearts are led, if you partner throws out a diamond or club, you should lead that suit. Lets say the Ace of hearts was led and your partner threw out a diamond. If you take the trick, lead a diamond if you can, they should be able to Trump in or have the Ace. It doesn't always work out, but it will a lot of the time.
      You can lead to give your partner a chance. Some people will lead their bowers out first, pulling all their partners Trump out. If you don't have offsuit aces, you don't need to pull out the trump cards. Sometimes it makes sense to lead you worst card, like an offsuit 9 or 10, especially if it is the only card in that suit. Don't play it like a loner if you aren't going alone.

    Few things he missed. Your not playing to beat your partner, don't steal a trick they already won. I disagree with his K lead with the spades as well. I would throw 10. I know I get atleast one more if not 2 more leads with the right and left, and I want to pull that ace, so when my Jack clears Trump, my k can walk. Right Left, and k off are the 3 needed tricks. If you're lucky your partner has the A off or can even Trump the other team who had it in the first play. Give your partners hand a chance to play if you don't have a guaranteed 3. Also I might lead a Trump with an A K Q of Trump in my hand. Gotta play Trump to get Trump. You already have almost half of them, maybe your partner has the r, and if not, maybe you pull both right away. That hand depends on your offs if you got two aces or A K , A Q suited offs, I'm definitely leading that trump

      Trump means that ear beats any card of another suit. If more than one trump card is played, the highest card of the trump suit wins the trick. I hope that helps.
