Not been to Spalding since 1990 (born there ages ago) so it was great to see my old town! You probably know this now but the Coronation Channel was opened in 1953 (hence the name) and built after the 1947 floods...it's the main flood defence mechanism for the town because the river Welland is tidal up to there
Looked like you had a jolly Easter weekend. We were in South Wales and had a lovely time at Barry Island and visited Gavin and Stacey’s house. Very glad that at least one swan was featured in the video. There is a BP garage on the A5 just off the M6 junction 12 that has gas and is where we filled up in our way back from Wales. Hope this helps. Take care Gill
Like it. It’s Easter, if you don’t like then f…off -brilliant👍. My Mrs insists on saying - not all Lincolnshire is flat , we are in Woodhall Spa, edge of the wolds, not exactly the highlands but…
Looks like you had a great Easter. Good that you could arrive there early. Such a pity it wasn’t dog friendly. It’s certainly been very wet. LPG can be hard to find these days. It’s why we got our diesel heater. At least then it’s just gas for cooking /water 👍😊
As I think you’ve said in a previous channel, if garages selling LPG at the pump are dwindling hopefully we’ll see some of the large campervan outlets providing it instead. I remember during the pandemic that there was a shortage of cylinders as opposed to pump fed LPG.
£3.50 a pint, yep a few pubs up here have them offers on, and the social clubs, get ready for York when the prices are £6 a pint and upwards 🙂 The pub looked very nice, defo worth a second visit 🙂 Beer and birds, mmmmm lets see, yep, do it 🙂. Take care and see you next week 🙂 Trev

We didn’t know that! Thanks 🙏

We keep meaning to try to get to Barry, gas is a struggle but hopefully we’ll find some, we get on the M6 at 16 unfortunately but thanks Gill 👍
That little pup looked nice - Black Forrest Gateaux cider sounds delicious. And I agree - it will always be Easter. =D
Cider is too sweet for me (R) but H likes it, it was a great weekend though we really enjoyed ourselves
@@RickandHeather I just noticed I typed "pup" instead of "pub" - I should take my own advice about proof-reading ....
@cathrynbagley8005 I thought you were on about the dog H gave a biscuit to 🐾
@@RickandHeather ha ha - he was cute too =D
I like those meet-ups where you can arrive early, leave late and get the whole day! Heron's are my photo nemesis!
Yep much better than a camp site arriving at 1pm and losing half a day. I’m the heron king!

H says it as it is, I’m a little wary for when we return to Scotland 🤣
looked like a good weekend, I spent a happy winter around Spalding working on the bypass constuction, back in the 90's.
We really did enjoy it 😊
As always a very enjoyable video guys and Poppy.
Thanks as always 🙏
Glad you enjoyed Spalding. It’s not too far from us. There’s usually quite a few swans there so you were short measured 😂
We’re happy if we see “just the one” but yeah Spalding was great!

Yep, we’re thinking of doing what you did and adding a diesel heater as a secondary heater to save gas

Hopefully so yes. We’re thinking of adding a diesel heater to only use gas for the cooker
