"Sailing To America" is one of my all-time favorites. Saxon fan since I was 10 years old. At 18 y/o I joined the US NAVY. Soon after I got deployed to the First Persian Gulf War in 1990. I remember vividly the voyage back to San Diego, CA returning back from the Persian Gulf. I sang this song and played it in my head from the moment we found out we were loading food and water for the return trip back home (ALIVE and unfortunately sick) all the way to the day docking on Pier 2 at 32nd st Naval Station, San Diego. Seeing Point Loma, Ca in the distance thinking "Sailing To America" felt incredible...
I'm proud to say that i'm a fan of saxon since 1980, i love the way saxon goes AOR, i mean doing light rock songs that could be a hit, the last time i saw saxon live was in 2012, i really want to see them one more time, a great song from a great album, thanks for sharing.
Love these guys, they're so down to earth with their fans & really appreciate us. They are fantastic live even to this day NOV 24th, 2018. Huge fan since I was 15yrs old in 1979! :-)
@@husq48 Yep, loved it all, i thought the whole record flowed and the track arrangement was done well from Crusader till Run For Your Lives the 2 of which capped both ends of the LP with a similar theme.
@@husq48 A decent injection of pace and tempo between the title track and probably my favourite Saxon tune Sailing to America. This was my 1st Saxon LP i was 11 at release and i quickly got WOS and DAL after. you may not " Fancy "it and many dont even like the album but i do.
Happy Thanksgiving 2016! I have been sure to play this song every Thanksgiving for years now, originally for myself and now sharing it on Facebook. Thank you for making this video!
Love this band and song my son is seeing them tonight in 2024 legends
