I was sacked in December 6th 1980 (Saturday morning) for missing work the previous night as I'd seen Saxon live in Coventry on this tour. I was jobless and skint..............was it worth it? Fuck, yeah!
SAXON. Truly it is criminal how underappreciated they are. Give me them before IRON MAIDEN. SAXON brings the music. I don't need a stage show. If I wanted to see a musical I'd go see one. All I want is to ROCK! THANKS FELLAS!
@@traceytepper4620 In one small way I like that SAXON isn't all that well known here in the states, it's like being in on a kind of secret. The only kind of secret worth knowing. I don't want to know if my neighbor is cheating on his wife. I don't care. But SAXON... I know what to do with that kind of secret...ROCK!!!
@majudaem To this day they're better. Bruce Dickinson's voice nowadays (especially live) sounds like a cat crapping broken glass, but Biff's voice is still strong and true.
I was 14 when a friend called me and said that he knew in which hotel in Zürich Saxon were staying (it was the Nova Park. We had tickets for the show, but decided to give it a try and just hang out at the hotel, maybe we'd meet the band. And we did. None of us young 'bangers spoke english, but the band took excellent care of us, invited us to have lunch with them and gifted us with free merch. Later on stage, Biff kept pointing at us, waving and making jokes. I never banged harder in my life.
That opening guitar riff....first riff i ever figured out on my own just by listening to the record. When I started doing it, I was like hell yes, check this out. My friends were impressed. Life was good. The early eighties was like living in a John Hughes movie for real.
Oh my, the bloody memorizes from this band WAY back in time. Remember seeing them a few times at De Montfort Hall., brings tears to my eyes. I always remember when the giant eagle slowly came down, looked like feet from biff and the boys. Man, do i wish i could go back too them days. Happy, happy memorizes indeed. So glad i can say i was there to see Saxon grow and Grow. Older now and certainly cant be arsed with all the gigs we went to, but the memorizes will never fade.
seen Saxon with Armored Saint in a small club back in the 80s with my little brother we head banged stage left front the whole show "I miss you every day Bro" one of the best nights of my life!🤘
Saxon had so many great tunes. It is surprising more of these songs didn't get radio play. I live in Canada and the only two Saxon tunes I have heard on radio in the 80s was Denim and Leather and Power and the Glory. Denim and Leather remains one of my top songs of all time.

I saw this band in Colne(!) back in the early 90s. They were VERY loud but brilliant. Biff is an amazing frontman. I was on the balcony with my boring boyfriend and our mate Prof got 'into' it at the front - nearer the stage - only for his specs to fly right off his head with the momentum of the crowd. Why I remember that I don't know but it was a great night...and yes, he did manage to retrieve his specs! Never seen so much denim and leather in my life. Crystal clear sound and underrated guys....love this song it’s just timeless
I saw them a couple of days ago (April 2024), and they still ROCK!
Fell in love with this group in ‘83. Came home from a party with Saxon “Strong arm of the law” in my car. So thankful.
My favourite Saxon song 🎸🤘🇬🇧
This song oozes Weekend Heavy Metal madness all the way!
This and "Dallas 1PM" were the best songs on that album. I had a friend in college who also liked metal and we used to play guitar to these two songs.
Dallas 1pm if Led Zep had done that everyone would be throwing Grammys... what a band what a sound what musicians .
Paul Quinn is an underrated Guitar GOD !

Just saw them here in Dallas, and after 20 years of going to the shows they still put on a great one.
If heavy metal music had an anthem, this would definitely be it !💪🤙🔥
Love that Biff ! Awesome band ❤

billy barkly SAXON FODA DEMAIS. LEGAL PRA CACETE. BRASIL.
I was listening to the music on the radio (*)
I had a feeling that something's not right
The music was loud, we could still hear the crowd
From the gig that we played that night
We pulled into a motorway restaurant
Stopped awhile, fooled around
But I still had a feeling that something's not right
'Cause we're standing in a whole in the ground
Stop, get out (**)
We are the strong arm of the law
Stop, get out
We are the strong arm of the law
Into the night came a blue flashing light
A blast from the siren to make sure
But it came to a stop behind the motorway cop
Who'd been tailing us for more than an hour
He pulled us out of the car on the side of the road
He questioned us one at a time
Where is the gear that we know that you use
We said the only speed we use is on cars
[Repeat **]
You should've seen the stupid smirk drop from his face
It was a negative exercise
The way that we dress and the things that we do
They thought it was an easy bust
That whole in the ground ain't right. Must be "as we started our homeward bound"
