This is hilarious! I'm white British and spent one summer at university living with Chinese students. Their English was great, but I often had difficulty understanding their accents (and vice versa, ofc). They all had Western names alongside their Chinese names (this was 20 years ago!) and I spent ALL summer calling one student 'Derek'. Until the day he left and I saw a letter addressed to him - 'David'. 😂 He pronounced 'David' in the exact same way you do here!! Brought back fond memories. That was a fun summer!
Why is this so relatable. My parents torture all names. They love my husband and try so hard to pronounce his name, Bre. It comes out Ble or Blian and he responds. 😂
I remember my Thai housemates years ago, they saw me walking and the kept shouting A-jek!!! A-jek!!! I thought they were just arguing or something, didn’t know that’s how they pronounce Jake 😅
Haha I used to be friends with a half Thai girl and her mum was exactly like this. Your shorts brought back a lot of nostalgia, I miss them and thanks. ❤
Bro when was watching this video my Thai mom heard the toe mat one ant said why is the video talking about toe mat and I was rolling on the floor with laughter
Ngl, i absolutely love the Thai accent. It has such a nice sound in my ears, does that sound weird? Anyway. My name gets absolutely butchered in the United States, I'd love to hear how you'd pronounce it. Please?
The " you knorr " was perfect 😂
You're too good with the accent. It's dangerous.

Most of my Thai friends pronounce my name as "Walentine " (Valentine) apparently to the best of my understanding Thai sounds have no 'V' (wee)😂
I laughed so hard at "hello my name is tehlee" coz it sounds so similar to thaili which means a polythene in hindi 😭
My name with a Thai accent 😅
Having a Thai partner definitely has it's fun side🤣

They're more like these:
Na-ta-lee นา (rice field) - ตา (eye) - ลี (lee)
Kiss-ton (คิส-ตั้น)
Cher-laew (เชอ-เลว) (tip: Thai turns every "L" ending to "W" sound)
Sa-tee-fend (สะ-ตี-เฟ้น)
Gew-berd (กิว-เหบิด)
