- There are many challenges to living on a narrowboat, living off-grid and continuously cruising canals and rivers. Add filming and editing into the mix and you’ll end up with an interesting picture. To balance some of the negatives this episode has some of the most amazing nature shots we filmed yet. Enjoy!

Well done for filming difficult moments, struggles with the chimney and the drone mishap. These are hard to film but lovely to watch. It s at those hard times when your beautiful personalities shine the most. Part of the adventure is dealing with obstacles, but if you didnt love it you would living on the land working 9-5. Keep rocking!
I am watching your videos and those of others who live on narrowboats because I'm considering buying one. Viewing is usually a slightly queazy, intrusive, voyeuristic experience. I don't feel this with your postings. You are honest, generous and open, within reason. I thank you for that and wish you good luck with your endeavours.

That's it, I have just watched all of your vblogs in about a week. I have found them entertaining and informative, however I'm 67 so I don't think I'll be doing it, as much as I would love to. The question is when you eventually get to London, what then? Do you stay put or head north along the canals.

A delightful log of your journeyings, Reading and Henley are old stamping grounds for me, as I went to school at Shiplake, if you are continuing up to Sonning you will go through Shiplake lock which was an ordinary manual lock back in the 60's, the school is about half a mile upstream from the lock on the starboard side, then you pass Lynch island on which we used to camp on summer weekends. Lovely to see and hear the old seagull outboard. Your photography is Devine. Guy

Here in the States cruising is a bit different. We did travel what they call the Great Loop here that took us on the great rivers and up the East coast of the United States.
Our problems were a lot like yours. Our shower sump stopped and dumped all the grey water into the bilge. Smelly.
I just love watching you both. Another wonderful vlog. Glad the drone is saved, sorry you guys lost a memory card and footage but you can always get more great footage. So so happy your shower is fixed. Wow 3 months of not having one. We should all be thankful for what we have. Watching this I am truly blessed. Thank you Miles and Marina. Had a right laugh as a kid growing up and playing in those meadows between Pangbourne and Mapledurham. Swimming, fishing, boating in the summer. In the winter they would quite often flood a freeze over. It is horrible for some local houses, but we would get our own massive ice rink to play Ice hockey and ice speedway on our bicycles. Painful but great times, I seem to remember!😊👍

Another beautiful vlog! So glad the drone was saved! It sounds like a big insect! The Mosquito! I hear you are on lockdown again. We are going back to where we were in May. Strict masking and distancing too. Most businesses closed. No gatherings for Thanksgiving! But it looks like there is hope for next year! All the best to you two!
Hi Susan, yep same here, but we are hoping it is only until the beginning of December and hopefully it will be relaxed for Christmas, will see. The drone luckily is fine, we've lost one battery and a memory card with some footage, but it's not a biggie. I am learning to fly it too now 😊 Take care 💜 xx

Oh no......I have had a drone bought for me by my daughter. Its been in the box for a month. Scared of losing it. No point asking Myles for a lesson then. Love your vlogs.

Good Nz morning Alba crew. Showers or lack of. First world problem. Lol. Probably worth considering purchasing a 20lt solar shower. As a standby. Yeah seriously. The only part of the Thames I've seen is in London. So that area you are cruising on is a real eye opener for me. Beautiful scenery too. The year i rented a Narrow boat, I was advised to avoid canals running through cities. . Unless one likes buildings. Loving ❤ your channel guys. I've been trying to persuade my mates down here to view and subscribe. But it's hard work. Anyway keep them coming. Take care and stay safe. Atb.

how are you coping with lockdown...we have gone into our second lockdown..pubs opened for about two weeks then went into lockdown again....some shops open but many still closed...just have to survive and keep out the way that is why I have been binge-watching canal cruising vlogs...aprt from walking my dog and shopping as and when I stay put...not taking any chances...keep up the videos ...keep safe and well and get yourself a dog....great company....

@@MylesIsAReallyLongName My wife and I (she is Russian) saw the flag, and wondered if it is the Russian flag that was first the Ensign on Russian ships, why is it flying vertically and not horizontally, as it should be. We thought perhaps it was another countries flag.. Good vids bytheway... We enjoy.

Love the angry person face, sums that fact they are the loosers and you are not. We try to think up ways of compressing our recycling. Most containers will compress a bit, even just taking the bottom out of a tin can and stamping on to flatten it will help. be careful with ali drinks cans, as they can produce very sharp edges. Try seeing how much plastic rapping you can get in a plastic drinks bottle, youll be amazed, then your only having to carry 1 {slightly heaveyer ) bottle.
Oh wow thats a great idea to stuff plastic bottles, We do compress tins and cartons etc but this is a good tip! 💜 xx
