- Maybe the worst battle to ever hit youtube. I spent $100 on 2022-23 Panini Prizm Basketball Blaster Boxes and $100 on Panini Prizm Basketball Hobby Box Packs. In this video I put retail head to head versus hobby to see which product will yield better results. I will say the results might suprise you in this one!

how is there a 1/3 chance of pulling an auto if there are only 2 autos in a box of 144?
The math is based on packs, each hobby box contains 12 packs of cards, usually there is only 1 auto in a pack, so if there are 12 packs total and 2 of those 12 packs contain a auto, then the odds are 2/12 or 1/6, but since I got two packs instead of one, my odds of getting one of the two autos is 2/6 or reduced to 1/3.
I love the comments on these videos because basket ball enthusiasts never seize to amaze me with their misunderstanding of probability and statistics.
Haha, are you talking about me specifically with the probability I was stating in the video, or do you mean that basketball enthusiasts tend to be overly optimistic about what to expect inside a product in general?
So pretty much no matter what you get or how much you spend with panini you will get a dollar back in cards for every 100 you spend.

IMO it’s better to just save up until you can get a hobby box. It’s more expensive but the value is exponentially better than retail
Yeah I think overall that is what I am seeing but I also have to say there are some pretty lame hobby boxes and a couple solid value retail products that make it hard for me to say Hobby 100% of the time, but as a general rule of thumb I agree with you

Did u open 3 boxes for hobby so that was 72 cards in total while the retail u opened 2 packs pnly 24 cards in total..not a fair comparison in numbers
I get what you are saying but you also need to factor in quality vs quantity for example retail mainly has green prizms and occasional numbered cards and a whole box cost $30 while a hobby box has autographs numbered cards to 1 and more rare parallels, a hobby box cost $660 so two packs of hobby is pretty equal to 3 retail blaster boxes at $30 a piece

Bro you should try and open some Hockey Cards, they’re considerably cheaper than Football and Basketball plus you can pull really big hits even from retail. I’d consider Series 1 and 2, SP Authentic, The Cup and Artifacts Hobby(not retail). Thanks bro love the videos🔥

Why would you buy individual packs from a card store? They search all the packs before they put them out on the shelves have you guys never heard of oack searching lol
I have heard rumors, whether they have been verified and apply to every single store either local or otherwise I have not found concluding evidence. I agree with you it’s easier to trust a sealed box from the manufacturer but would you have said the same thing had I pulled a Paolo auto from that pack?
