#118 1976 98ci stroker shovelhead motor rebuild case repair flywheel balancing harley tatro machine
this is a motor that has had alot of issues in the past and was not very reliable. it has been waiting in line to get repaired and the time has come. it was in for a topend redo but i decided to go right to the heart of the motor and take it all the way down so that i cam make sure everything is good to go. it also gives me the opportunity to see what is wrong or not up to my standards.

Tatro, Back in the late 70's My buddy dropped off his Harley at a bike shop/machine shop in El Monte for his engine to be rebuilt. I remember the old mechanic asking my buddy, "Where do you want your vibration, top end or bottom"? I thought what a weird question, why any vibration. Thanks for your explanation, now I understand why..

Who's flywheel assembly is balanced better Ultima or S&S?
they are about equal in quility. ultima uses a little bit lower percentage. ultima will also do cutom percentages for you to or balance to your weights. s&s does no custom work anymore.

@@TatroMachine cool, thanks for sharing. I love my 4 5/8" Ultima Flywheel assembly. It really comes alive on the highway when cruising at 60mph. The top end is unbelievable! I still haven't seen what it's capable of, 120 + easily

Tatro was wondering if your drill press is three phase power, did not see you switch on the single phase too three phase converter.
for now the only 3ph powered machine i have is the milling machine. all my other machines are in storage for now.
