There is a problem with your intersection on the highway,in cs2 they change lanes just at the last moment, cuz you have a two lane system an enitre industrial traffic will be stuck on one lane while the others are trying to go down switch it to 3 lane,or the whole of it will get jammed when you up the population
I think you should either have no highway since not many cars and do high speed train or intricate subway system. If you really have to do a highway I think you should do a completely underground highway with stops popping out here and there like little subway stops as exits.
The freeway would look better on the ground. Make trumpet on and off ramps on both sides. Then build overpasses that don't connect to the freeway in between the on ramps. You could also sink down the freeway by 5 where the overpasses are, so the overpasses only have to go up by 5.
Soooo you could have used the parallel road tool :p. And to be honest, i dont even think a highway is needed. I dont think you'll have anywhere near enough traffic to even make use of it. I would just expand the subway system if you were that worried about the traffic.
Am I the only one that hates the obsession with “lane math” it’s just so unrealistic. When there is a proper mass interchange it can make sense but when would a highway ever reduce to a single lane for a simple off-ramp. That makes it not a highway.
I think you should redo that center part of the city. That is the first thing new people will see coming into the city by boat. And its just a double grid of office buildings. Thats prime real estate for a park or something beautiful to walk around
I like the idea of the highway, lots of the smaller islands like Grand Cayman and the Canary islands all all those point to point highways but I kinda like how they have the roundabouts on them.
looks great its a good start plop a ton of trees around the highways along with the sound barriers and that should help , not sure but buildings might work as well going to be sick to see the highway connect all the way down to the campus and out to the other side of the island with the city building up there going to look so good cheers mate

The intersection that looks off... you built the off ramps 2 grid tiles away on the close side, and 3 grid tiles on the far side (the highway was covering up the closest row of tiles, so it looked the same until you changed camera angles)
Honestly, a simple national road would do, but nah, this is an oil town-gotta flex that cash to show who's boss. Now we’re stuck with more pollution where there should’ve been a forest to keep the smog away from the neighborhoods. Classic move. 😆😆
those highway junctions should of been built onto roundabouts. think that would help traffic flow better just a idea. also your on ramps don't need to be 2 lanes.. just need to be one
Is there a problem with using the parallel road build button? It keeps you two highway directions perfectly distanced from each other. I’ve had good luck with it. Lastly, that anarchy button is best used sparingly. Still a very entertaining series!
What do you think about deleting conection to main road form cargo and make conection directly from highway? Than all your cargo could go directly in any destination they want to and in same time it make more space for your buses since in main road will be no trucks basically. Only downside you just need make highway 3 lanes cuz it might get bit busier.
Can you double-check your bus stops since some got deleted when you reworked the roads? One got removed near the final interchange in the industrial zone.
Build a tunnel to outside like u did in fools kingdom between koreas beacuse this is how game works you need connection or pretty damn good public transport

I don't like 90 degree bends on roads myself as a driver so I'd definitely explore other options.
