I'm not a religious person, but if they played more songs like this one in churches, even if they were only half as beautiful or performed with a third of the passion, nobody would be able to make me leave them ever again. I don't think there is any way for words to describe how incredibly beautiful and perfect this song is! Thank you so much!
Faris Badwan is for me one of the most talented musician of his generation. The last Horrors' album is an underrated masterpiece (listen to "Change Your Mind" or "Sleepwalk").
trying to recover from the overwhelming emotion of listening to this for the first time. it literally feels like faris ripped me open and pulled out my heart, then subjected it to the most beautiful organ/choirgirl arrangement i've ever heard, then stuffed my heart back into my body. FUCKING GORGEOUS.
just breathtakingly beautiful. faris has really found himself and you can hear and see it. I have so much respect for them both, they are amazing musicians.
Imagine hearing this live, with the brilliant acoustics involved... I am content with just watching this video though, thank you for making such beautiful music.
Incredible. A beautiful composition. Sometimes the organ compliments the human voice in such a way that one can really sense how the voice itself is a wonderful instrument. Compliments to Badwan and Zeffira and smiles to the chorus. I visited the website, can't wait for even more than what's been recorded thus far. THX Cats Eyes. You made the day even better than it was.
as much as i love the horrors, faris is not nearly the star here, but i would never had found it if he hadn't played his part. this takes my breath away. so good...
@AiMuiNoodle just because it was played in a religious place doesn't mean it is a religious event. try to appreciate the beautiful architecture and acoustics. I personally am not religious, but i can go into a church and recognise how beautiful it is as a building. x
God, her feet just dance on those pedals.....I truly love this performance today as much as I did when I found this by accident all those years ago. (and on top of that I've still got an adult crush on the fourth chorister along from the left)...
I knew it was over before you told me so before you looked away before I begged you not to go I knew it was over I didn't have to ask why I knew it was over before you said goodbye
If you want the story, you gotta listen to "The Story" podcast. Rachel tells all! Its the second story from June 28, 2013. "To Score Holy Gig, Singer Deceived - Then Confessed" Since I can't post a link, You are going to have to search!
@VranaCista Who do you think allowed them? The band would have been veted inside out. I know next to nothing about the lad doing the singing but the music is impressive and what a venue in which to debut your work. Did he burn a kitten hostel down or something?
Rachel Zeffira had a way in cos she's a classical singer, not really immersed in the traditional music industry as we know it. She had some contacts at the Vatican/knew someone who made it happen I believe
This is so unexpected. I feel like a woman going to a restaurant for my birthday to find out I'm really going to Rome. And how on earth does one hire out the Vatican?
Well, Today 2017 in México someone played music from Coldplay at the Church mass and the catholic priests from this country call it "HERESY"... when in 2011 Cat´s Eyes played here and many artists at the VATICAN the biggest place of this religion... so, WTF!
It is heresy. A church is a place of faith and devotion to God. Not everything can and should be sung inside of them. That being said, in this instance, their rendition of I Knew It Was Over was in the vain of what is typically heard in churches, this is why it's so beautiful.

Possibly the most beautiful song/tune/performance ever
just breathtakingly beautiful. faris has really found himself and you can hear and see it. I have so much respect for them both, they are amazing musicians.
Holy crap it's like Danny Elfmann + Philip Glass + lyrics. And beautiful voices. Can't wait for the EP!
It's criminal how so few people have heard this
Imagine hearing this live, with the brilliant acoustics involved... I am content with just watching this video though, thank you for making such beautiful music.
I'd have given my left leg to be there! Can't even imagine what it was like.
conny lake 🤣

No words can actually describe the way I felt while watching this. Absolutely beautiful.
Mesmeric in every way possible. Perfection.
Faris' voice is so beautiful. I don't usually cry at videos but this brought a tear to my eye.
St Peter's Basilica - incredible. A beautiful performance.
This is incredible beautiful. Indeed, a song for the playlist of The Lord. Many thanks, Cat's Eyes, many thanks Rachel, many thanks Faris
I'm going to see cats eyes next month I live in one of the three selected cities they are appearing...
The Orchestration is truly beautiful in this song. Ethereal to say the least.
Gorgeous sounds and beautifully shot. Wonderfully lush and moving music to come across at 4 AM.
Fucking beautiful. I couldn't move while I was listening to this. I was just paralyzed by how amazing it is. Thank you Faris!
So much love for both of them, honestly.

@AiMuiNoodle just because it was played in a religious place doesn't mean it is a religious event. try to appreciate the beautiful architecture and acoustics. I personally am not religious, but i can go into a church and recognise how beautiful it is as a building. x

xPeAcEx
In the Vatican? This really is a surprise.
Faris is an interesting, but very cool musician, he can be erratic then be performing at church's, what a diverse artist.
@lewisgardner93 that was rob, you know the guy off the bing advert
super.
@lewisgardner93 your my hero!
What happened to the upload of I'm not stupid,, also videoed at the Vatican? I'd love to see that again too, but it's disappeared
perfect
God, her feet just dance on those pedals.....I truly love this performance today as much as I did when I found this by accident all those years ago. (and on top of that I've still got an adult crush on the fourth chorister along from the left)...
Good vibes. The intro reminded me of the more religious Spacemen3 tracks. x
Beauty
I can't believe she can play that thing with both her hands and feet!
Does anyone know when the album will be released in the United States? This is too incredible not to own.
nice location i think
malditos crazy....excelente canción ;)
@inevercamester That's exactly what I thought when I first heard this!
I knew it was over
before you told me so
before you looked away
before I begged you not to go
I knew it was over
I didn't have to ask why
I knew it was over
before you said goodbye
@Skapete I'm not crude but she is just stunning. Love the album was beautiful.

Jay Neale four years later! Thank you :)
@merryberry21 Couldn't help but agree with you there!
faris badwan is hauntingly cool, this song sends a shiver down my spine.
p.s watch the backing singers at 1:45, hahaha
@pikeyvideos cheers joseph x
how is this ten years old
reminds me of Danny Elfman's music on Edward Scissorhands.
HOLY SHIT!!
@VranaCista Who do you think allowed them? The band would have been veted inside out. I know next to nothing about the lad doing the singing but the music is impressive and what a venue in which to debut your work. Did he burn a kitten hostel down or something?
This is a religious experience every time I see it
lo mas extraño que escuche en el 2011...
How do I score a gig in the Vatican?!?!!!
@mymanismarc- of course you would Megan ♥Kassy
does anybody know how they make those ping pong noises in the end?
@IndieKid45 Sorry fella, they definitely were. One of the choristers put all of her photos on tumblr and there is no doubt. It definitely happened.
how could they be performing in vatican ? anyone got sum stories behind this ?
and they performed at buckingham palace too
Rachel Zeffira had a way in cos she's a classical singer, not really immersed in the traditional music industry as we know it. She had some contacts at the Vatican/knew someone who made it happen I believe
could someone tell me the lyrics i do not understand everything?? please!!!
This is so unexpected. I feel like a woman going to a restaurant for my birthday to find out I'm really going to Rome. And how on earth does one hire out the Vatican?
genius.
Why he has performed at the Vatican ?
Anyone knows?!
@JousterinJudge im was thinking the same but with: "death at the chapel", jajajajajaja
belter mate
@jungleguns That's the principle of organs. Every organ player does. And, anyway, she's fantastic and that's all. :D
what is this and since when was faris badwin in it?
@jungleguns That's how an organ is played.
reminds of "the end of the world" by skeeter davis
how the hell do you get to perform in the vatican? geniuses.
@IsItOnTab oh my god whatA
@Joel354vanfanel
Winning comment
I can't believe she can play that thing with both hands and feet?

I wonder if the pope has seen The Duke of Burgundy
