Aeirth is 100% perfect for Cloud. Tifa looks like a prostitute, or someone with very promiscuous inclinations. I don't care how nice, if you dress like that, all show and no imagination, then you're def not going to be on the marriage list, or at least not to a good guy. She was even willing to sell herself to Corneo, like what? And no one bats an eyelash. She's also a depressive, needs medicine, always talking about the past, past, past - she's too melancholy, even in Advent Children. Poor Cloud, to be left with that as his only choice after the girl of his dreams (literally) dies by the hand of his nemesis. A girl who was cheerful, flirty, fun, silly, cute, friendly, sweet, wise, intuitive, tastefully dressed, a real princess, and a powerful mage too boot. Fate is evil, as they not only cut short the most beautiful flower of all FF7 characters, inside and out, they pulled the dirtiest trick on Cloud that they possibly could in taking her from him. Fate [i.e. SE Devs] suck donkey's ass.

何が正史かはおいておいて、日本ではクラウドとティファのカップリングの方が歓迎されてるようです。ただクラウドとエアリスのカップリングが好きな人も無視できない数値です。

何故ならば原作ではカップリングに関して最終的にティファと有るか無いかの二択になるからです。
ですので、私の様なヴィンセントとユフィが推しキャラ、つまりエアリスやティファを特別推してるわけではない人からすると、普通に全員の好感度上げてったらティファと結ばれて、そういうストーリーだと理解してしまうわけです。その後クライシスコアでザックスとエアリスのイチャイチャを見せられてそういうカップリングだと思うわけです。
長文になりましたが、結論を言うと、原作時エアリスが好きだった人はエアリスとクラウドをカップルにしたい。それ以外のキャラが好きな人はティファとクラウドがカップルだと思ってるという感じです。
仮にエアリスの方が人気でも、クラウドとティファがカップルだと認識してる人が多いのだと思います。

個人的にはクラウド×ティファ派（観覧車イベでその想いも強くなった）だけど、エアリスとの仲も色々と切なくて好きなんだよな
異常事態の為に生き残ったザックスが、どうか同じく異常事態の真っ只中にいるエアリスを救って欲しい
Aeirth is 100% perfect for Cloud. Tifa looks like a prostitute, or someone with very promiscuous inclinations. Poor Cloud, to be left with that as his only choice after the girl of his dreams (literally) dies by the hand of his nemesis. A girl who was cheerful, flirty, fun, silly, cute, friendly, sweet, wise, intuitive, tastefully dressed, a real princess, and a powerful mage too boot. Fate is evil, as they not only cut short the most beautiful flower of all FF7 characters, inside and out, they pulled the dirtiest trick on Cloud that they possibly could in taking her from him. Fate [i.e. SE Devs] suck donkey's ass.

多分違うと思います
英語版だと
「Whatever happens, don't blame yourself.」です。
日本語に訳すと「何が起こっても、自分を責めないで」です。
ACではクラウドだいぶ自分を責めてましたから
全然違いますよエアリスはクラウドが真似してるザックスではなくクラウド本人が好きですし
罪悪感はクラウドが自分がこの先いなくなっても罪悪感を持つ事がないように願っていると英語版見るとわかりますよ
