Raja ampat is expensive (even for us indonesians) cause it's under government policy to keep the minimum of people who go there, so that the marine life is not destroyed.

Wherever human goes, we destroy the nature. Only way to protect environment is all the human beings have to be gone. One day, I wanted to see how much water I used for my shower. Almost 20 to 30 gallons water. I contaminated 30 g water to wash my body. Oh God
Imagine if raja ampat was not that expensive, u gonna see a lot of dead coral and sad things, and we won't that happen to our country

Raja Ampat, Papua is literally a piece of heaven on earth. I'm glad to born as a Papuan, be one of the guardian of this paradise.
I've been to many places in the world even within the Indonesia and whole Papua and Islands surrounding. Nothing can beat Raja Ampat on biodiversity level.

Genealogically, culturally, linguistically distant.
West Papuan in general are closer to their Pacific islands neighbors than to the Indonesian. The reason why West Papua are within the Indonesian legal boundaries is due to both were Dutch colonies.

To all the people wondering why does the cost really really expensive there, as he already said its one of their ways to keep Raja Ampat exclusive and they wanna keep this place not overrun with people and might end up poluting the beautiful dive site.

That’s not true. The reason is that the fuel there is controlled by some private people there. The government can’t really control it there because West Papua has a ongoing conflict.. that is the only reason!! I was there 2014 living in a family house on a remote island. So beautiful! Don’t go to these resorts mentioned. Go to private homestays where the money really ends up in the hands of the locals!!

Raja ampat is quite hard (and expensive!) to reach even for us indonesian. But man, it's really an underwater paradise!

Raja ampat was the reason I started dive lesson. Everyday when I dive it's just don't feel like enough. You guys are lucky since the Kri is closer to Waisai. My resort kinda far, far away from Waisai. 2 hours trip with boat but it paid off with some exciting little baby sharks play right under our jetty, sometimes with the whales and mantas, etc... I think the term of, heaven on earth is truly exist and that's what is called Raja Ampat! 😍
The papuan people really kept this paradise prestine.

MAN I ENVY YOU!! I'm Indonesian but I have never been to raja ampat. It's one of the most expensive destination in Indonesia. I reeally really wanna travel to raja ampat but i still can't afford it yet. But your video gives me more motivation to work harder!

u should really do it considering that u dont need to spend so much on plane tickets, I am from Costa Rica (Central america) and a plane ticket for indonesia is around $2000 or less if lucky and depending of the season
@@fabiolazamora773 I live in Java island, the ticket to raja ampat is more expensive then from Java to Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand 😂 & the cost of living too.
But hopefully, can get there someday
@@fabiolazamora773 most of Indonesian people are only get paid 2 - 6 milion rupiah per mounth (150-450 USD per month). That is why most of Indonesian people can't go travel like what you do. We mostly travel only in our island or fly to the other near our island that is not expensive. Like me, I only travel in Java or Bali cause I'm from Javaa and I hope next year I can go to Kalimantan & Sumatera island. If we wanna go to the other country, most of Indonesia people are choose Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand cause the flight are very cheaper only 50 - 200 USD.
Yes expensive, that is why my friends and I starting saving money in one group bank account for Insya Allah 2020 trip to Raja Ampat.
The Underwater World is UNBELIEVABLE GORGEOUS! Like another dimension! We hope we can film some diving soon, too! :)
It's a scary place to bring a camera but sometimes it's worth to risk it for the biscuit

They are nice just to foreigners, especially white people, not for people who have Indonesian vibes (look alike). This is quite sad but I'm telling the truth. They wouldn't even give some respect to their people sometimes, kept fighting over money, religions, and stuff.

when i go to raja ampat, i stay at cove evo resort. its the best place in there, food is good, the owner and employee are super friendly. she said raja ampat nickname are lost paradise. gotta love cove eco resort.

Carlos..if you dont have dive license, you can take PADI Course for 3 days in Gili Trawangan on your next trip. Snorkeling and Diving is a must if you want to explore the eastern paprt of Indonesia.

I come from the island of Papua, but not in Raja Ampat, I really respect you, because I can explore one of the tourist attractions on the island of Papua, because there are still very few people know about tourism in Papua, due to lack of publications. I suggest you to Nabire one of the tourist attractions there is swimming with the whale shark is very beautiful and challenging, and also many small islands that can be visited.

Raja Ampat is the best!!! There are lots of places in Misool and Wayag too which are the icon of there. You should travel to those places, recommended! We got the travel vlog there.

I used to lived in Sorong for 7 years...
Everytime When the school off, me and my friends, most of them have boats... So we just went from Sorong to Waisai with boat, less than 2 hours with speed boat.
We explore raja Ampat for hundred Times... Yeahhhh that Made a good memories of life...
Next summer i might bact to Sorong... And go explore raja Ampat again

There are many diving Course in Indonesia and you can get diving license in Indonesia... You should try to find out in the Internet, maybe you can get a good price than in your home country.

Its expensive to make it exclusive, Yes! besides the remoteness of course. Its underwater is the highest biodiversity in the entire world. Should keep it like it is. Thats why as well not much advertisements about Raja Ampat done by Indo government. Only the hardcore travellers /keen scuba divers would make it as far to Raja Ampat.
yoko tanza Or Indonesian divers generally. Some people who live in Indo (expats included) take their diving tests in Raja Ampat. Personally I feel that is the wrong choice because it sets the bar WAY TOO HIGH after one of the most amazing diving places in the world (Komodo Rivals this, Bunaken is also quite nice and has good food
