Thank you for posting the video. I am about to service my daughters Peugeot 206 cc convertible and my wife's Smart for 2 Cabrio here in England. Very few people have posted how to service European hard top convertibles and they are often cheap as chips here as so many have simple roof faults which I suspect are due to lack of proper maintenance. This has been very helpful, especially for the hard top convertible.
Great video...thank you! My problem Is getting the top to stay in a fixed position so I can work on it. I have a 2009 Jaguar XK with hydraulic lifts on the tonneau cover that drop on their own within a few minutes. Any assistance and advice you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help. I need some more info can you please show how to replace the rubber that go across the window and trunk area. The trunk rubber is old and needs to be replace. I have a 2002 SC Lexus 430 please help thanks.
My Mustang exactly like that one has a nasty passenger side squeak when the top is down I can tap on it and it squeaks any idea how to fix it? I sprayed the silicone everywhere I saw still there
Very helpful video - going to do my Saab Aero convertible this weekend Have previously used GT85 maintenance spray every 2 months - is the lithium grease better ? Colin
@@noahfield5171 my friend said that if you don't use the convertible roof you will lose it, I think that holds some true. you should lube regularly especially on the rotating cogs use a generous amount i have done a lot of maintenance on the side panel and seals to get to this section I have to stop and start my roof half way which puts stress on the moving components, I reapply more lube every year the thick stuff. Its absolutely caped in it 😂

VW say that silicone sprays/liquids MUST NOT BE USED on the synthetic rubber seals

I know this is an extremely old comment , but I have just grabbed a Saab aero convertible , have you found anything that works better?
