      Thankfully the concept art isn't what the ship looks like. I made a video detailing the differences between the concept art and what actually showed up in the film.

      Yeah some people do and some do not, it seems that the warp nacelle position on their pylons is just awful! that is why i altered this area on my model, also the Sean Hargreaves concept has put a lot of people off this ship, luckily they did alter it for the movie.

    • @MichaelWilliams-star-trek
      @MichaelWilliams-star-trek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like your improvements on the model. Your model looks more like the screen accurate model not the concept art. Love the shuttle bay doors.

      Ha Ha me too! i have read on various forums that they might not due to poor sales of the previous kits from like Revell into darkness, however i thought these into darkness kits sold very well, at the end of the day it comes down to how much money they think they will make then there is the license issues, apparently Paramount "CBS" charges a lot for the licence, we just have to keep believing they will produce a kit although it will not likely to happen for another few years yet once Star Trek 4 has been released!

  • @andrewdiez8353
    @andrewdiez8353 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Now this is a fitting successor to the Kelvin Enterprise. Did you make the kit from a kitbash or is this a Revell/Polar Lights kit etc? Because this ship does the film ship some much needed justice.

    • @ptaylor5014
      @ptaylor5014  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is scratch built but with some of the Revell parts used like the bridge and the deflector dish etc which were modified, i was going to fully do it 100% from scratch but time restraints on doing other clients models meant that i had to make some sacrifices and use kit parts from another kit.

    • @andrewdiez8353
      @andrewdiez8353 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Epic Job done. Hell they should've consulted you to design the movie ship...or at least tweak it where it needed it

    • @ptaylor5014
      @ptaylor5014  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha Ha maybe they should of, a few others have said almost the same thing you have said, perhaps i should contact Paramount and CBS with my work portfolio and what people have said about my models, who knows they might like them and take me on board! i can only dream lol.

    • @andrewdiez8353
      @andrewdiez8353 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd hope they'd see the Logic in such a streamlined vessel. Hell your design is like the modern version of Andrew Proberts' TMP refit from 1979. But hey I hope they check out this video and contact you for it. I'm sure lots of fellow Trek fans would agree that this should be the Enterprise - A...And not that God-awful wannabe Apple Spaceship mockery at the end of Beyond.

  • @marcoesposito8935
    @marcoesposito8935 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi PAUL TAYLOR, your Enterprise is...magnificent indeed. How much is it long? Do you...sell this model or it's unique? And how much would it costs? It's just fantastic, I have no words to describe it, good job. I hope you will answer me as soon as possible ;).

    • @ptaylor5014
      @ptaylor5014  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi sorry for late reply i have been busy, thank you very much for your kind appreciation, this model was a one off the only one in the world! it measured approx 22" long and i sold it for £1250 which come to think of it was a little cheap compared to the models that qmx sell for $6000!

    • @marcoesposito8935
      @marcoesposito8935 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price is really cheaper instead of the Qmx one. So, you do model on commission or it was..just one? And the price would be the same? :D I know it was the only one but you don't make other model because it's a bit challenging or you can now? I don't know if I am clear. I know it was unique (so the price is logical) but on a comment you wrote that you "do the occasional commision" and this "occasional creation" would cost like the old one? Do not get me wrong, I'm just curious.

    • @ptaylor5014
      @ptaylor5014  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still do commission builds and i am building another 1/500 enterprise for a client, then possibly a 1/350 polar lights Enterprise for another client, this model you are interested in is very hard to make because there is no kit available so i had to make it all myself, i can do another one but not yet as i am very busy.

    Very beautiful ship. But it does not look like the "A" shown at the end of the movie. Warp Nacelles dont quite match, and the secondary hull was more pointed. At the same time, your design looks better than the one depicted at the end of the movie.

    • @ptaylor5014
      @ptaylor5014  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Horsing Naturally, yes it does not look exactly like the one in the movie, my intention was to build it close to it but add my own take on it, i hate the front of the warp nacelles on the movie one as they are stuck right on the end of the pylons and the shuttle bay is not seen either so i made my own up, lots of people have said the same thing about my model looking better than the one in the movie.

    • @horsingnaturally2244
      @horsingnaturally2244 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PAUL TAYLOR You are welcome. I wouldn't mind having a model such as the one you built. I of course being an old treckie, I still love TOS Enterprise the best and even her refit design. The JJ version seemed out of proportion with its over sized nacelles which were to close together. And the primary haul was too rounded at the edges. The other feature I disliked about the JJ version was with the neck joining both hulls as it was connected to far back to the secondary hull which put the deflector dish directly under the primary hull sensor dome. Man, am I a geek or what? LOL

    • @AvengerII
      @AvengerII 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No,
      A lot of people don't like the JJ-Prise. I think it's disproportionate and there have been a LOT of ugly Starship designs since Star Trek III (1984). JJ-Prise is possibly the most disproportionate Enterprise since they introduced the Excelsior-class in Star Trek III.
      The Refit (1979) was just about perfect proportionately and nobody's done a better design, IMHO. I do like the original TOS Enterprise (production version) and the Reliant quite a bit but have no use for the Enterprise's beyond the Enteprise-A (1986).
