Journey from Bangalore City to the Airport using Suburban trains | Quick & Easy

- I took the newly introduced suburban train from Bangalore Cantt railway station to KIA airport in Bangalore on Jan 6, 2021 and reached in around 80 mins. The experience was very good but still there are no takers for the service due to lack of awareness.
Good Video. Several enhancements required in the train services, but before we expect those, we need to patronise the present services. As more and more people start using these 5 Trains, better services at suitable timings and from more stations, can be provided. Doddajala will need to be upgraded from Halt to Crossing Stn. Electrification work is going on. Once completed in a few months, MEMU Trains (hopefully with one AC Coach at slightly higher fare) can be run to Devanahalli (MEMU trains have better acceleration and deceleration rates, providing higher average speed), trains should be run on Sundays too, Automatic Signalling needs to be implemented to Devanahalli (this will help improve frequency of trains), Train Timings should be displayed at BIAL Shuttle Bus Terminal, etc. However, it is crystal clear that this mode of transport, in addition to being highly economical, will also be faster, safer, more comfortable, more environment-friendly, etc. As citizens, we can do our bit by popularising these trains and using them as much as possible. Also, Public Personalities (VIPs) should use these trains - this will lead to more awareness & improvements.
Yes totally agree with all the points. And people living in the areas around the railway stations along the route should make good use of this.
Bangalore cant station to Airport halt just@ Rs 10. Passengers should seriously consider taking this trains. Avoid personal vehicles and motorcycles to airport. Next vedio should be full of passengers.
Baba its 4.45 means to early morning may be that time no ones traveling

I live near the Cantt station but had no idea about this. Always spent around 1000 bucks for a cab in traffic. Wow will try this definitely 👍🏻

People traveling from Majestic/Cantonment etc ha can easily reach airport by bus/taxi etc. Hence low passenger patronage. The train may be more successful if it is run from farther places like Hosur.
The stations are clean but the train could be a lot better. Citizens and tourists alike will feel good about Bengaluru with good transport

Its looks third class. Even South east Asian Countries has better & morden trains.
If there is a train every hour from SBC to Airport station and bus connection to Airport terminal, even if charges are more than mere Rs 10, there will be better patronage. Key is reliability (atleast every hour), ease of baggage handling and adherence to schedule.
Lots of enhancements needed. 1. First things first. The ground level of the platform need to be elevated both at departure and arrival so luggage can be easily dragged instead of lifting. Who on earth travels light in India??? 2. There should be a luggage holder within the coach so they don’t fall. 3. Most of the international flights are after midnight. I don’t think there are trains at that odd hour. So all in all I am not sure if this will stick or even if it will let’s see how many will travel.
This can work really well when the metro is in operation, with the 2 lines and numerous schedules, we have to reconsider the option of taking this affordable transport option rather than the cabs
Isn't the metro line going till Airport in the near future...when we have end to end connection with so many interchange lines wonder why we need this anymore🤔
@@vijayrangarajanramakrishna318 it's better to have more options for travel! People can either take the train or the metro as per their convenience, it can also help distribute passenger traffic as well

Let Govt. Of India to adopt the same way in other major cities.
Request atleast one police to be deployed in each coach for protection for foreigners and also for public safety.

Station is nice and appears moderns but the train should not look shabby if its meant for the airport. Also virtually no one knows the timings or where to book. I hope there is a frequent service like the Vayu Vajras.

This is helpful for central Bangalore people only. Suppose living in East and South of Bangalore, how much time they need to reach at terminal? This train will save money, not time. And time is more precious than money for Air travelers.
Yes correct.. if Central Bangalore people or those who reside near the railway stations use this service then the railways can think of further extension

How frequent this train will be ??? Means suppose I want to reach airport at 6 pm is there any train from Ksr to airport??
Frequency is an issue now.. there is a train at 5:55pm from Cantt railway station but that will not work out
Great initiative, however they need to fix few things at what looks like an half hearted attempt to close this gap.
1) Speed up, 90 mins is a lot from Cantonment to Airport entrance during non-peak hours.
2) Compartments should have lesser seats to carry your luggage.

There are 3 trains from Bangalore City - at 04:55, 08:35 and 18:10. From Yelahanka there are trains at 07:45 and 19:15.. You can get tickets at the railway station counters or buy it from UTS app using your mobile. Regarding safety, avoid early morning train like at 04:55 as it's empty and eerie.. other timings it's pretty much safe

It's reopened after Covid.. i think 2-3 trains are there now

Ideally yes. But the service is still under trial and is not very frequent... Just a few trains in the morning and a few in the evening

I took the 12.20 shuttle from Bengaluru cantt station.
I reached the airport departure gate in 45 minutes flat.
This is by far the quickest mode to reach airport.

For 4:55Am train reaches at 5:55Am from there do they have shuttle at that time sir,whenever this train service is there the bus service will also operate with it?

One is at 8:35 and other is at 18:10 from the city as on today.. it keeps changing.. you can get tickets at the railway station itself

Currently just 3 trains each during morning and evening hours.. They will increase the frequency based on the response..

Why there are no railway patrons and loyalists like Mumbai Suburban railway...Ridership is too poor or average Bangaloreans are very affluent and rich to commute in personal vehicles or AC cabs or Airport volvo buses!!...I am afraid "Bangalore Suburban railway network" should not become white elephant for the government in the upcoming decades as India becomes richer country by 2040-2050!!

If we book from UTS app it priced rs 15 as 2nd class ticket but if we book from counter its priced rs 30 as an express train charge

From Mahadevapura you can directly board from Baiyappanahalli or Channasandra. You need not go to KSR

There is no advance booking needed..one can directly go to the counters and buy the tickets. There is a UTS app also where you can book general tickets through your phone

Not everyone vl have Their flights early morning.. with limited train timings to and fro.. its just waste.. not so resourceful to passengers ,and also train total duration and exact time of arrival at Airport halt station is uncertain and there's a delay of 10,15 or 20 mnts. Wch aint gonna be helpful if smbdy hs to be present at airport at correct time.. else vl miss their flights.. frequenncy of trains gottu increase like metro , atleast 1 train every 15 ,or 30 or 60 mnts atleast.
There are some trains in the evening too.. but yes the timings need to be worked out

Both train and bus designs are not suitable for international size baggages.
Atleast domestic and short time travellers can make use of it in the beginning.. Then slowly it can be equipped to suit all baggages
