After the Agape Force. I fell into a false prophet charismatic church cult. Started by my best friend Mark Vander Stoep. Whom I met in my Senior Year of High School in 1974.
I stayed in for 10 years. I was isolated. Controlled by witchcraft. Brain washed.
Eventually I got out in 1986. But I was suffering from Schziophrenia and I didn't know it.
I got into accidents on the Railroad and in order to keep my job. I admitted myself to a mental hospital in 1988.
I was in and out for a year. I thought i was no longer saved. But God turned that all around in early 1989.
I still suffer from PTSD and memories of the cult. I didn't deconstruct. But I don't relate well to Charismatic Churches and I'm very cautious about going to a lot of churches. For fear of being controlled and manipulated in Jesus Name.

You know. I think a lot of the problem was. Keith and Melody got in positions of authority.
Before they ever had a chance to let God work with them first.
    That's a real danger.

I was in a car, slowing down to pay Golden Gate Bridge toll, when news of Keith Green's death was announced on the KCBS hourly news. It was earth-shattering; I fought back the tears. Now, listening to this and looking back, I'm amazed at the absurdity of it all: "Jesus is in control and the Prophet is on board. What can possibly go wrong?"

. I’m sorry they got hurt / legalism+the doctrine of losing your salvation will do it. I hope they find healing and see Jesus for who he really is.

I hope Sharon and Tracey can fully let go and forgive themselves for their past involvement. There's no crime in being young, naive and impressionable. We all grow up; we live and learn.

@@michaelcamp2134 No, I was talking about all of them. I ordered their tract collection which had one of every tract, I think. I was reading all of them and they almost drove me to madness. I particularly remember Winkie Pratney with extreme loathing.

@pleistoceneblue9706 I was replying to @57andstillkicking So sorry the tracts impacted you like that. They did me too. They had a strange attraction. A pull to know something radical and prophetic but also offensive and usually hyper legalistic. I saw Winkie speak twice. He was likable and funny in person, which only pulled you in more.

Why are they being so dogmatic about aviation safety, physics, and aeronautics when they are against universal truth and dogmatic fundamentalism? Everyone needs to decide their own aviation safety for themselves and not have to listen to the coercive dictates of faux authorities like "the designer" telling them "the right way" to do it.

Hello Michael, Sharon and Tracy, thanks for the conversation and I am listening again. I’m at 44 minutes and 28 seconds in and I’m just in shock of what Sharon said regarding God being the biggest pushover in the world because of how people believe in perceived, and so on so forth. It’s clear you were in an insane high pressure cult, and I feel for you and I prayed for you guys and will continue to do so. Speaking of Christian nationalism, and again clumping everyone who’s ever open the Bible up and believed it into one generalized clump of whatever your thoughts are. You are aware that there’s an extremely left politically left wing if you would of the church in America and right wing one as well, I mean in the church, not necessarily their political stand, although it goes into politics. Right Methodist just lost 1 million members in a day or whatever because of their new stand. So you’re over generalizations only harm yourselves well, and I guess your listeners as well. I’m not fighting with you, nor my angry with you. I just don’t understand why you have just mock the Lord, and laughed at Jesus and laughed at the almighty, heavenly father. Two things I think many do you speak in the name of God, do it way to whimsically into easily, and those who speak in their own name against God, do it way too easily and way too whimsical. I hope that you find Jesus in this life and that your salvation can be sure in him. continue to pray for people that are caught up in cults, and to physically help them get out as well. May the Lord bless each of you.

I was heavily into the LDM tracts in 1989-1990. They almost drove me insane. I woke up from that madness and threw all the tracts away.

Melody was a very social person in that she liked to visit with people but being a spiritual leader was not in her genes. Leading LDM after Keith's death was not a good idea.
I agree that Don was a sweet person and I am certain that Keith coerced Don to go ahead and fly the plane anyway. Don was an experienced pilot and I'm sure he knew it was a bad idea. I agree with Sharon, Keith was a bully and put a lot of pressure on people to get his way. Yes LDM was definitely a cult. I loved the interview!

@@AuroraDawnWitchcraftSo sorry you had to experience the LDM cult. I was a huge fan of Keith and Melody and the LDM Newsletter. Really screwed me up although I did see through a few of the legalistic and creative controlling messages from Keith.
