I make Dominosteine every year but I'm waiting for yours to upload to try it this year. Your instruction videos and recipes are the best I've found for German recipes. Thank you from Ontario, Canada!
Greetings from Oklahoma!. I subscribed last year. I love this lady. She is very classy; I like her soft-spoken voice and decent, educated personality. I don't like those cooks on TH-cam, who are over the top, show off, talk too much, and have an ego. This German lady is what we need on TH-cam. I do not get tired of watching her. I love her and her recipes.
I’ve only ever had dominos during Christmas time. I had no idea they could be made from scratch at home. 😂 I’m so excited to try this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful treat.
Hey, I made these this last Christmas and they were amazing even though we couldn't find all the ingredients mainly star anise (I have since found a place that sells it so I'll keep it in mind for next Christmas 😄), they were still AMAZING and probably the most delicious Christmas candy I've ever made and eaten. We had left overs of them after my family Christmas gathering and they barely lasted a few days after that. So I just wanted to say thank you for making this video it was an absolute delight to watch and make them along side you, I will definitely be making them again!
I made your recipe! Absolutely gorgeous at every step. No one would leave them, they literally kept nabbing them non stop! Only struggle I had was finding a way to dip them in chocolate without altering the shape or leaving my messy finger prints in. The fork method just made them change shape as soon as I put the fork in. Refrigerating them didn’t harden it enough. Maybe I should freeze them first? I love that this receipt id authentic German traditional recipe!
I know, everyone here is also addicted to them. My trainer loves them so much that I gift them to him for his birthday every year. I think you should try the freezing idea, it might happen that the chocolate gets solid too fast but I think if you work fast it might work.
I plan to give it another go. Tbh, it doesn’t matter if they don’t look perfectly neat. They are just perfect! My husband is half German, (I’m Indian so I’m trying to find traditional German recipes for my children and family to remind them of their heritage. So I especially love the traditional backstories to the food and process! I plan on trying a lot more recipes. Stollen will be my next endeavour. Thank you!
I just gathered all the ingredients for the Elisen gingerbread cookies. Took me a while lol. Just a funny little story - my friend bought the ones from the European Deli (the ones on your site). I turned the cookie over while we were drinking our tea and noticed it was all mangled up. She had tried to remove the oblaten because she thought it was paper lol. The cookies were still good and we had a good laugh.
That's hilarious!!! Reminds me somewhat of my sister, who visited a friend in San Francisco. He went to Chinatown with her and some friends. At the end of the meal everyone had a little piece of paper in their hands (from the fortune cookie) ... my sister didn't. She ate the cookie with the note in it *lol*
Link to recipe (on mobile phone) takes me to your site but tells me the link is faulty. Tried a search on blog as well and came up with nothing. Is there another place to search? This looks so interesting I'd love to try it. I did save links to several other recipes from your blog so even if I never get this recipe, thank you! I'm glad your ur site randomly showed up on my home page.
I also tried the link from my laptop and got the same message. I would love to have the recipe too. So many of her recipes are my favorites now. I am sure if Barbara sees this, she will fix the link.

I remember my relatives in Germany sending us these many years ago. They were very good.

Danke!!!
I love these!!! I get them every year from Aldi but I am sure homemade is much better!
Very cool recipe! I had a question. When back in Germany, do they use something other than molasses, like sugar beet syrup?
Yes, that is right. But I can't get it here in the store and molasses works just as good.
@MyGermanRecipes Thanks for your response! I was just wondering as I have German sugar beet syrup in the cupboard and would love to use it. ❤️
Please keep sharing
