      @jaynaneeya 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      @@DevelopingCharacter Part of it is just silliness, which is the main reason I love it, but I assume the reasoning behind the joke is the other authors at the party all became famous during their lifetime, whereas Emily Dickinson was essentially unknown until after her death, so it makes sense that nobody else there would know who she was

      jaynaneeya Ahhh, that does make sense. But, what I do like about this series is that I do not get MOST of the literary references and yet it is still enjoyable.

      @HLGamez 8 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      She is not able - Annabelle maybe being an imposter?
      The past comes into the present - Lenore?
      The one who kills for sport - Ernest? He mentioned hunting in the first episode
      The one who couldn't bring me back - Crishanti

    • @saffodils
      @saffodils 8 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      That makes sense-"the one who couldn't bring me back: beware" could be a warning to Krishanti that she's in danger, which we find out is true. He changes where he's looking as he says it, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything because the whole point of his speech is to give clues opaquely.

    My friends after great investigation and clue gathering I can determine that the murderer is no other that.... Eddie Dantes. Let's start with clue number one they all had a reason to murder Dantes but at the same time Dantes what'd a reason to kill them all from sport debts to strongly worded poems. We know that every one except Wilde so far had met Dantes before. Clue number two the note in episode three after the writers return to the dinning room there is a note badly written clearly it could not have been written by the authors because they all have big egos. Then there is the tissue with Ana bell initial written on it it can clearly have been a gift from Ana to Dantes. Then there is Wells contraption as we know that Dantes had a knowledge of electronics when he lend Wells money for the time machine claiming it would never work. When the authors where outside the dinning room that would have given Dantes enough time to rewire it. Then how he moves through out the house there is the elevator that connects the basement where the cellar is and the kitchen. That gives him free will to move through out the house. Then there is Agathat Christie and George..... I mean Mary Ann deaths, we know that Dantes killed Agatha because of her expertise at writing and solving mysteries and the parallels to And then there were none knowing this Dantes got out of the house with a knife from where the knifes live and stabbed her several times and as we can see from the bathroom the window was opened that gave Dantes the opportunity to smash the painting onto Mary..... I mean George Elliot head. Then there is the last question wouldn't the gentlemen notice Dantes missing body, and the answer is kind of it is dark in the cellar and they only leave the bodies and then they leave but Ernest stayed a little longer when he grabbed Fyodor vodkas as you can see he gave a suspicious look when he was down there probably noticing Dantes missing body but Ernest ignored that believing that it was the alcohol in motion. And then in this episode there is Dantes missing ghost along side Agatha but agatha missing is likely because she died outside the house, and Dantes missing ghost is due to him not being really dead.

      How would Lenore's dead fiance know about that, then?

    • @BestWishesBaz
      @BestWishesBaz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      It seems unlikely that Guy de Vere died in the house, particularly since Edgar asks "Wait, who is this?" and I believe that Edgar and Lenore met after Lenore died. Therefore, I wouldn't rule out some fishiness with the lack of appearance from Agatha Christie.

    • @alannar.8701
      @alannar.8701 8 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I would also like to point out that Dantes would have been the hardest to kill. He seems to have been pretty clearly poisoned if he did die, and you can't really time poison to kill someone as soon as the lights go out. That murder just doesn't make sense.

  • @ronjasignaler
    @ronjasignaler 8 ปีที่แล้ว +133

She was the only one whom we didn't know where she was when Fjodor was killed (Ernest was fighting Edgar, Lenore and HG were at the attic, George Eliott and Oscar where getting poop al over them and Emily was in the kitchen). Also nobody had black leather gloves when they came in Edgar's house. Exept Annabel and Eddie. We did not see them coming in so she is the only one with Eddie who could have hd gloves.

      Someone on another video commented that she seems to have died of arsenic poisoning, and Victorian wallpaper often had arsenic in it. Firstly the intro had me in absolute stitches, I keep thinking that there is no way that they can top it and they prove me wrong every week. Secondly, is it bad that my first thought when seeing the killer was Phantom of the Opera? Op-POE-ra? My prime suspect now is Oscar purely because height and who else would have a whole extra wardrobe including leather gloves at hand?

      Well, that opens up the list of suspects SUBSTANTIALLY!
      *Alexandre Dumas:* Eddie Dantes sounds like Edmond Dantes.
      *Jules Verne:* A fan of Poe, didn't like Wells much, wasn't invited.
      *Arthur Conan Doyle:* Wrote a lot of mysteries, probably knows how to get away w/murder.
      *Victor Hugo:* Politician.

  • @victoriavining7730
    @victoriavining7730 8 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    I think I've figured it out... As I suspected from the start, Eduardo Dantes is actually Edmond Dantes, also known as the eponymous literary character, the Count of Monte Cristo. The Count of Monte Cristo was a character who went from literally the perfect guy (ie. Barbershop Quartet Eddy), to a guy who spent the rest of his life enacting revenge on anyone who had wronged him. As we all know, literally everyone here has some kind of beef with Eddy. No problem while he was alive, but obviously something is up, and Eddy is back, but not as Eddy anymore. As a possible sub-theory, I've noticed the deaths to be similar to character deaths in the authors' novels. Louisa of course died coughing, for dear Beth's sake. Mary Shelley was electrified, perhaps symbolizing her use of electricity to create Frankenstein's monster, quite the killer. Dostoyevsky's most famous work, Crime and Punishment, is all about a guy who kills an old woman with an axe. Agatha Christie could have been killed any number of ways; she was a murder mystery author, but don't worry, she had characters die by multiple stabs in the back. As for Mary Ann... George Eliot is next on my reading list, so I really don't know, but as far as I've heard of her novels, they're not really the death type. I couldn't find any evidence of /any/ literary character dying because of a painting, with the obvious exception being Oscar Wilde's work himself. Perhaps Mary Ann's death was a coincidence, or a red herring? After all, she was actually alive to talk afterwards. Or maybe I was wrong, and Oscar Wilde has been the killer all along. I can't say much of Krishanti's death, I don't really know much about psychics, they freak me out.

    • @victoriavining7730
      @victoriavining7730 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I meant to add, it's curious that both Eddy *and* Louisa don't show up in the séance. I can understand Eddy, but why also Louisa? Is she in on this too?

    • @victoriavining7730
      @victoriavining7730 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a coincidence, but the only literary "de.Vere" I know of was the guy some people suspect wrote Shakespeare's works. I don't really see a tie in, but interesting to note

    • @victoriavining7730
      @victoriavining7730 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mean, "the one who kills for sport," totally adds onto the Count of Monte Cristo. Revenge is the game he plays.

      At first I thought "OH MY GOSH IT IS SO OBVIOUS IT IS AGATHA EVERYONE!" Then when Agatha was murdered I thought it was Emily as well (especially given the intro now). Then I thought Lenore's fiance's ghost was implying that the psychic was the killer and that the way she left the room proved her guilt but then that seemed unlikely because I thought "how could she have gone around the house unnoticed enough to kill that many people?" (another reason I thought it might be Emily). So now I realize I just have no idea lol.

    So now Emily knows who it is... and we know it isn't H.G.Wells, unless he could get to the kitchen really quickly via some shortcut, and that probably also rules out Charlotte Bronte. Anyone who left the room after Edgar Allan Poe, who would definitely know the fastest route inside his own home, is essentially not going to have been able to have done it. This also rules out Ernest Hemingway, who went in a different direction to Edgar, and so would have had to sprint to beat him and Annabel there. As Emily appeared in the same frame as the murderer, she is easily ruled out, so that only leaves Annabel Lee. She left before Edgar and Ernest, and soon enough after Emily that it is possible that she could have made it round to the kitchen before Emily. Also, Lenore could potentially have walked through walls to get there faster? I don't know the full extent of her ability to do something like that.

    • @tatianacueto6815
      @tatianacueto6815 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While this makes a lot of sense, I don't think it was any of the female characters. Unless the females are accomplices. Remember, the person that killed Chrishonte (Is that how you spell her name?) physically overpowered her, and I don't think any of the girls are strong enough to do that. So the murderer has to be male. Not only that, but she looked up at the person doing it, so the culprit is likely taller than her.

    • @alannar.8701
      @alannar.8701 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not necessarily someone who is still alive, or who is in the house. It could have been a woman, though. Even though none of the women here seem to be very physically strong, the psychic lady whose name I can't spell also didn't seem to be strong, so it would make sense.

    • @Izzy-Maurer
      @Izzy-Maurer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree that its entirely possible that there could be more than one murderer, whether they are working together or not. That seems to be the way the evidence is currently pointing, although it could be one person working very hard to frame other people, such as using Wells' machine to kill Mary Shelley or using a knife to kill Agatha Christie right before Hemingway came back with the knives from the kitchen.
      I am determined to work it out before the reveal, so i think I'm going to write down a list of everyone who was accounted for during each murder, and try and work out if there is anyone who could have done all of them.

    • @alannar.8701
      @alannar.8701 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OddUndeniably Honestly, though, I don't think it's possible to say who's accounted for during each murder. The only one I can think of is that Emily can't be the sole murderer. If she's in on it, there has to be someone else. But for every other person, we really can't know.

    • @Izzy-Maurer
      @Izzy-Maurer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are some people who were with other people when some of the murders happened though. Is it bad that I'm hoping for other murders to help with the deductions? Also, I have no idea what Guye de Verre's comment means or if its even going to be related to the murderer.

    I suspect Annabel. When George was murdered, Hemingway said that Annabel went to go look for Edgar, and now Annabel leaves to find Krishanti. Then again, this is only from the last two episodes, and I need to rewatch everything again. :P ETA: She also looked around the upstairs by herself for the majority of episode 4, and reappeared right before Dostoevsky's death, also 'finding' the poison on her own.

      I have to say though I'm really disappointed with the portrayal of Oscar Wilde - okay for starters, he was Irish. That's an interesting Irish accent there...sounds so ENGLISH! Secondly Oscar Wilde wrote about debauchery and all that bc he was trying to make a point about society but he was such an incredibly intelligent man and in this he's represented as a shallow gossiping fool. I love Oscar Wilde and I wish he had been portrayed a little more true to form in this

    • @TheOtherDibbler
      @TheOtherDibbler 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      +JustAnotherGirl Yes, but they're not going for realistic portrayals of any of the authors, they're presenting them as a silly caricatures for comedic effect. If they were being realistic with them all it would be a lot less funny. So of course Oscar Wilde wasn't really like that, and neither was George Eliot, nor any of the others. It can be hard to turn off the part of your brain that says 'no, that's not accurate', especially about something or someone you're a big fan of, but maybe it will help if you try and remember that these are fictional characters, made up out of whole cloth, and just sort of loosely based on real people, and not really meant to be accurate portrayals of the real people themselves.
