Who else had a laugh at the animation talking about air circulation with the fans blowing on the outside of jars? I'm pretty sure that's NOT how it works. lol
That's a monster! Is it a sativa, indica, or a hybrid? I grow auto-flower hybrids and my own strain of sativa. The sativa always grows to about 7 or 8 feet. The autos are always 3 to 4 feet.
@@huletnadof313 I had 3 plants over 10ft last year, all the same sativa strain, 10'6", 10'4", and a 10'3". I am still smoking that, rolled one up of it just yesterday! I called it Wilt Chamberlain..
I just hang mine. when they feel right I jar. I try to keep jar humidity around 60% Below 50% and seem dry and bity, Above that it taste a bit green. From what i have seen of commercial grows is they handle the bud too much. Always smooth an round. My licensed home grow tend to be real fuzzy and sticky. I only handle them twice, once going in the jar, once cumming out 😄
Don't be so sure. I remember people in the 70s and 80s who would smoke about anything from a homegrown marijuana plant including nasty-tasting immature buds and leaves.
To monitor temperature and humidity levels in my drying room, I use a thermometer with a hygrometer. I also keep a small fan blowing at floor level to keep air circulation going and to avoid moving the drying plants too much which might rub off trichomes.
@@thefunniestfarm4731 Dude. The old bill aren't remotely interested in a middle aged cancer patient growing two plants for medicine. Imagine trying yo get a warrant on the strength of a TH-cam comment too. The judge would laugh at them.
I have an ac in a separate room and double doors to control the temps, and rh. Seemed to work great. They hang in it's own closet as well. Keeps controlling airflow easier.
I got a digital ph meter, a 30X/60X jewelers loop, and a temperature/hygrometer for drying and curing so hopefully everything turns out much better this time around!?! 🤞
Dont hang it all up anywhere or itll be mousy and garage floorlike in no time . Get a brown natural cardboard box , and a whole roll of good clean paper like art paper or blotting paper . Lay the buds in a single line down a roll that fits in the box you have , and then make more rolls and fill the box up. After 12 or so hours of having it all shut in but not sealed right off , make more rolls and change the paper our. Dry your damp paper rolls ready to swap out again. You can pour the buds down the rolls into the next roll . After a week or when its right jar it off .
Some incorrect info here. Cannabinoids aren't mostly just on the outside of the buds. The entire flower inside and out is filled with the trichomes. You could brush all the trichomes off the surface and it'll have minimal impact on the high or experience.
Becomes hay crap weed, unsmokeable, and undesirable when decarbed (even after a month of curing incorrectly), you must burp to release the bad, so the bud can turn from yucky chlorophyll to lovely matured terps. Also, ensure the room you’re burping in is close to the desired RH % when burping; or lower RH% at least if you’re aiming to lower the RH inside the jars.
You should only jar it after it is cured. Weed doesn't get "burped", it is not wine. You need airflow to strip some moisture, stagnant air lets moisture and mold spores sit. Want some beast buds? Use a humidor to cure your nugs.
So using a window air conditioning unit is bad because they are natural dehumidifiers right. How do you keep the room at 65 degrees if you cant use ac?
@@Chickenmaster0-x6l not really but spend a hundred bucks or two and buy two if u need . Close off half the room with that white plastic shit. Put a fan in there . Have a good reader . I use the CO2 monitor . That was around 140
@@Chickenmaster0-x6l hey np darkness and fresh air too at least a few times a day hanging for maybe 6-9 days then drying rack and final trim for a day or so humidity around 50% then jar and burb for about 30 days and throw in a few 62% Boveda packs .
Hey dose it matter if the only temps I can get to dry is 70% h and 21c ? That's the highest it gets humidity can drop during the day to 55 60% will this have a big impact if it's consistently the same everyday. So fluctuations are long not short!? I just don't know!!
The relative humidity around your drying plants will be very high (I often get readings of 80%) but this will be only for a few days. Also, the rest of the air in the drying room has a lower relative humidity. As long as you can keep the air circulating and vent it out the buds should have few problems.
Get a wood moisture meter look them up at LEAST. They even make some for cannabis!! The cheaper ones work fine to the one with general in the name. They give you a reference point at least better than guessing!!???..
Place a hygrometer directly on the drying plants and one in the drying room. The relative humidity around the plant will be high but in the room fairly low. The moisture in your drying plants will be taken up by the air in the room because of some law of physics about balancing things out or something like that.
More to the point is how do we not harvest buds with high moisture, which I think is what they mean. I hang mine for 7 days or so at 65% humidity and that seems to work for me.
And you do all that and it still has no flavour!! If the flavour is there it's there. That Method is right though.. I've got 6 strains finished only one has taste Gelato33 keeper.. but that's pheno hunting 😊
yeah i think i just stick to buying the finished product...there is sooo much to care for and soo many mistakes that one could make...nah im good, thats a whole Science man
Um what? These guys are legit, and if your state is legal, what are you worried about? Watching videos is not illegal anyway. Maybe you should cut down on your THC intake. Seems to be noiding you out.
If 99 percent of growers did this instead of tumbler trimmer their buds directly after harvest and hand trimming we wouldn't see so much absolute garbage garden mulch buds on the market!
Also you must avoid light. Keep them dark.
After trimming, coconut oil takes the sticky from your fingers.
Or you can just use rubbing alcohol
Olive oil or any other cooking oil works...alcohol definitely doesn't work nearly as well
You should be wearing rubber gloves when you harvest.

That means new method of drying.. dry the buds inside the airtight glass jar 😆

Perfect video thank you guys
I hope it's an indoor grow, outdoor has a week or 2 till finished.
Edit: depends on region... it can vary from late Oct to early Nov.
Don’t forget, sativa need less drying time as they’re not as dense as indica

45% humidity at 64F will get you by. Don't stress the 60/60 people trust me
Keeping the temps down helps a lot. Mine are around 70-73 degreesF.

I've had a Bruce Banner drying for 5 days now, it's killing me.

Sometimes I put a lil

You have the AC going keep at 60° 55 even if need be but you have a humidifier going so that keeps your humidity at 60% ... dehumidifier if over 64%

I really hate drying.
Once it’s dried cured & popped you can handle it as much as you’d like💯% fact
So, are we drying the whole plant or cutting it up?
Whole plant
You can do either. Doing the whole plant allows a slower dry which is best.
How would one test the humidity of a harvested plant?
