When this show was still airing spektrums performance is still imo the most impressive! Everything was just so on point Facial expressions, synchronisations and the vocals especially were amazing. Even their chemistry was superb! I am SO glad these 3 all made it!
I honestly don't want anyone being eliminated, all of them are so good an talented, also I'm emotionally involved with every single one of the girls. All of them improved in such a short period of time and the fact that we were able to see that improvement makes me love them so much more. Thanks for the reaction btw!
Kg has been my bias from the beginning! Maybe bc i tend to like good vocalist or maybe bc she is rlly sweet but there is smth about her. Im so happy she is finally getting recognized! She rlly improved her dancing! And Savannah (my bias wrecker).. She is just amazing! Shes my fav dancer in the group and her vocals are RLLY imporoving! And kaylee is as always so stable and perfect
Unfortunately I think Jyp's comment to Yuna "I think I will see you soon somehow someplace" is the typical comment saying to contestants who failed the audition. Jyp used to say that comment at auditions in korea.
Kendall's attitude is so fundamentally positive -- "It's not over til it's over." She still has a chance -- and she's going to keep going for it til the very end, which I guess will be Thursday. She's a very level-headed, clear-thinking girl. Impressive really.
These three already can match most of the kpop groups right now. And I am loving KG so much for this performance, she's so cute and you won't even notice that jyp once called her the worst dancer. I hope they could all debut tho.
Though I'm a strong Cristina stan,,, I think we need to admit that she's not an excellent singer. (Not that I'm saying she doesn't deserve to be a finalist though, but in terms of ranking that may be counted.)
48:52 Remeber Kaylee’s trials audition where she had been singing the song a week and only delivered one verse because her research told her that was what judge’s typically listened to during an audition. But, she had taught herself how to breathe properly (and is still helping the rest of the crew with it ;-)
All i can say is very well driven storytelling. As soon as they shows how Kaylee helps KG with her dancing i realized the evaluation was about teamworking so they were going to win first place. A bit surprised about individual evaluations. Now i understand there are two more performances, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday.
Based on their vocal characteristics (not vocal expertise) Camila and Savanna - are the least expected to be eliminated. Savanna being the fullest voice type among the candidates and Camila being like 70%full, 30% midair in quality. They are rare voice type. It gives foundation to the harmonization. Midair voice type like KG's cannot be eliminated because her midair voice quality is resonating and can balance its harmonization. And Kaylee's midair voice a little bit fuller by nature also blends well for KG's voice type. Midair voice type like Gina's add support to their harmonization to these 2 midair vocalists. Kendall's airy voice type are some use for others to rest their voices while act as support for harmonization or taking the bridge part in the song So morelikely in vocal qualities these are the most cannot be removed to make them sound resonating Thats why Lexus and Cristina's vocal qualities are morelikely to be eliminated because it would be too redundant in midair voice quality.
The two I'm kind of "okay" if they're not part of the final lineup are Christina and Kendall. Christina because she never made me feel anything for her + she's not that popular among the girls + her attitude during Yuna's elimination (turning away from the camera and making faces? That won't fly as a star/idol. Why did you do that girl?!). Plus I can't even remember what her voice is like (so it is forgettable in my case). She has a good stage presence though (which is a waste if she leaves). And Kendall because she didn't show as much improvement as all the other girls, her voice doesn't shine during group performances (and herself too) + as well as Christina she isn't really popular among the girls. But she speaks well + has that 'wow' factor to her looks, which are both incredibly useful in the industry. The most important here is a team that gets along well, that's the kind of thing that will get them far. Kaylee also ranked low in the "favourite teammate" kind of thing, but she is too solid to let her go. Still wish they could all debut together, but we all know that won't happen, unfortunately. I watched Sp3ktrum and I knew before they finished that they were the #1 group. They were so fluid and graceful, compare them with Back dawgz and it was a narrow margin, but Sp3ktrum was just more fun to watch. I wouldn't have minded if either group came in 1st place and the other 2nd place. What shocked me was Ranking from #1-6, everything went as I guessed, when it came to #6 I was so ready for JYP to choose Kendall but he didnt?!?!?! Instead KG got it, and rightfully so. I can almost feel JYP wanting to give the stone to Kendall, but I feel he knew viewers would riot if that happened. I felt bad for Yuna but I understand, her being at the bottom in the rankings. I really hope she continues working hard on improving her skillset and maybe someday she will be on stage again. Look at Somi!!!! failure isnt the end, its only a minor speed bump.
36:00 Judging from the precedents, I think there's only a slim chance that anything like that would take place. SOMI, for example, had been a trainee at JYP for years, since she was even before a teen. After she failed to join the group TWICE, she stayed there as a trainee for a longer period of time, and even participated in the girl group contest called "PJT 101" and won 1st. place. But to my disappointment, nothing ever happened with JYP. That's why she decided to move on and ended up being a soloist up until now. We would be better off, I think, refraining from having high hopes based on what JYP has said.

I think this will be a 7 members group. Since Sixteen (Twice's survival show) he talked about this 7 girls group, but ended adding 2 more at the final episode. Considering Nmixx used to be 7, I think that somehow thats the path he is gonna follow for A2K... 😅 And I feel that Cristina is the one who won't debut. You can see KG at her "sad moment" is looking to another place like she is standing next to the final members when anyone else is announced, and Lexus look surprised but relief, as she was mentally prepared for the worst situation and didn't expect that... Cristina has this face of "I knew it" in sort of sad way... It is like if when JYP will announce who is the last member is gonna be very obvious thats not her.
hunch is on Christina to leave in the final round and they will end up with 7 final. Below is just my personal observation having followed this series closely. first of all, as with JYP competitions, it is the first and last place of each round that matters more (esp the last place). The rankings in the middle served mixed purposed. THats why for instance in Nizi for example, you have people getting 2nd or 3rd placings in late stages but eliminated right at the end. those high rankings in the middle sometimes are like consolation positions to bring some balance to the competition - or make it seem more balanced. JYP has tonnes of experience in making shows like that. Stones etc dont matter 100% as well. Basically it is up to JYP + staff and the final decision is still who he finally decides to be in a group. We have seen fringe members chosen for a wideeeee variety of reasons. second, peer review + character evaluation. Let's look at the main equivalent to her, who is Lexus. Dance - both can be main dancer material. Lexus actually is better technically. We just need one main dancer / so so singer. As with every group. Vocal - both wouldn't be missed if they don't sing. So it is not so much a factor between them. Peer Review + Character evaluation - Lexus consistently very high, Christina consistently low. And actually history has shown that JYP places huge weightage on it. The other very weak person when it comes to character evaluation is actually Kendall - but she offers a lot more uniqueness to the group. SHe is much less replaceable than Christina. ANd if you look at the ending preview frame with 8 of them together crying, there are 3 people who look like they are crying for themselves - Christina, Kendall, Gina. Christina - she hardy cries. The only other time she did was when Yuna got cut. And even then, she was going to camila, moving around, trying not to cry. But this time, she was totally silent and just looked down, which is very out of typical character. Kendall can go both ways, but she is much less likely to be cut - if you see if from JYP perspective about the group mix. Gina - actually consistent in the way she cries. But there is some risk there too i feel, though definitely not as strong as Christina.
This is an interesting take. People have been speculating Christina is out because she has been on social media. What do you think about Savanna? It seems she and Lexus would play the same role, a good dancer with low vocal skills.

I think savanna sits in a more all-rounder-general-purpose role, while Lexus is very obviously the dancer of the team in terms of image and ability. I think savanna is strong in dance moves due to her gymnastics but lexus is still at another level technically and artistically
Great reaction. Please do reactions to Niziu Japan project. If you love A2K you will absolutely love it. Don't watch any music videos and start with the project first that way you can be surprised. They are basically the Younger Japanese version of Twice. It even has Sana and Momo as judges in one episode since they are Japanese and they both are in the final episode. Like those companies are greedy so people already speculated that those like Yuna might get an offer to train at JYP or maybe just train their weaknesses with whatever kind of professionals they've there for a tad longer, to make them able and stronger. I've heard that rumor about Cristina too, but when I looked her up on ig. The ig account of the same name is a different person, and it was created long time ago. Maybe she made it private, but given that Cristina is a enterpreneur before the auditions (being CEO of her own kpop dance company), you'd think she make it public to capitlize on her fame while it's fresh.
Yea, I think it’s more coincidence. I don’t see a way she doesn’t make it. She’s been top 3-4 almost the whole show. And hasn’t drawn negativity from JYP since singing in boot camp. Unless she bombs horribly I don’t see a way he doesn’t take her

They did. You can see in the preview videos that they each have on and danced in two different outfits. If it's anything like the Nizi Project. The first performance each perform a brand new song that JYP wrote. Something that they haven't seen or heard before so they'll have to interpret it in their own way. The second performance, they both perform to the same song to see which does it better.

For me, 5 will be a much more suitable and safer bet for the market. I know I would be wrong somehow. 7 is the magic number as you Pierre said. If JYP is really keen, one or two of them could be solo artist in KPOP. Having said all that, personally, it is hard to see Kendall's vibe in a group.

Based on the number of stones he gave to the girls, I'm guessing the group will have 6 members, maybe (?) I'm really worried about KG because she ranked 6th. If the plan is really to eliminate 2 girls I think KG must be in danger. At this point I think JYP won't let Kendall or Lexus go. Its rumored that christina got eliminated and imo Kg is definitely someone who should be in group! She has that kpop idol vibe and she is one of the best vocalist! Without her group will be pretty weak vocally (camilla, kylee and gina would need to carry vocals).. From this pov i think kenall is one that adds the least to group.. And im probably crazy for saying this but i wouldn't be suprised if Lexi gets eliminated.. she is good dancer but group would survive without her (everyone is pretty good in dance). And her vocals are maybe even the worst in the group😭

Very perceptive commentary, Pierre. Well done. I'm concerned that Kendall may not have been popular enough with the other girls. A TEAM is being chosen -- and so even though Kendall has star qualities, I'm not sure she PROGRESSED ENOUGH. She was always good in certain ways from the beginning -- but was probably overtaken by the other girls during the three month training period. Personally, I would still choose Kendall over Lexus because of Kendall's potential -- but Lexus is one of the most popular girls. So that may clinch the deal for Lexus.

As for your point that an odd numbered group is best, I'VE -- I think the current best girl group -- has SIX members. During Rei's illness, I'VE dropped to FIVE girls (an odd number). The odd number didn't help them at all. BUT the loss of the sixth girl, Rei, HURT THEM BADLY during that time. The PERSON is far more important than the NUMBER.

Now that KG showed Dance she is finally putting all those haters who were brewing hate pot for no reasons and holding on to her dance. This girl has writings skill, composer, sings well, i believe she can catch a melody rap easily. Plus her dance she has to make points to remember as if shes taught like rest she wont remember details of dance. I bet she would. They need that air voice type for others to rest. Because they have really good and potential good vocalists. But the problem they are prone to strain their voices. And so Kendall will fill those gaps for song's bridge or supporting falsettos in airy type if song requires too.

What I WILL say is that it's highly unlikely they'll want to invest or promote a 7 piece group for the West. 6 is really going to be pushing it. I watched Sp3ktrum and I knew before they finished that they were the #1 group. They were so fluid and graceful, compare them with Back dawgz and it was a narrow margin, but Sp3ktrum was just more fun to watch. I wouldn't have minded if either group came in 1st place and the other 2nd place. What shocked me was Ranking from #1-6, everything went as I guessed, when it came to #6 I was so ready for JYP to choose Kendall but he didnt?!?!?! Instead KG got it, and rightfully so. I can almost feel JYP wanting to give the stone to Kendall, but I feel he knew viewers would riot if that happened.
I felt bad for Yuna but I understand, her being at the bottom in the rankings. I really hope she continues working hard on improving her skillset and maybe someday she will be on stage again. Look at Somi!!!! failure isnt the end, its only a minor speed bump.
All of A2K episodes were shoot in last year or many be 6 or 7 months ago.
So JYP didn't know about the viewer's emotions that time.

36:00 Judging from the precedents, I think there's only a slim chance that anything like that would take place.
SOMI, for example, had been a trainee at JYP for years, since she was even before a teen.
After she failed to join the group TWICE, she stayed there as a trainee for a longer period of time, and even participated in the girl group contest called "PJT 101" and won 1st. place. But to my disappointment, nothing ever happened with JYP.
That's why she decided to move on and ended up being a soloist up until now.
We would be better off, I think, refraining from having high hopes based on what JYP has said.
We will see....

I think this will be a 7 members group. Since Sixteen (Twice's survival show) he talked about this 7 girls group, but ended adding 2 more at the final episode. Considering Nmixx used to be 7, I think that somehow thats the path he is gonna follow for A2K...
😅 And I feel that Cristina is the one who won't debut. You can see KG at her "sad moment" is looking to another place like she is standing next to the final members when anyone else is announced, and Lexus look surprised but relief, as she was mentally prepared for the worst situation and didn't expect that... Cristina has this face of "I knew it" in sort of sad way... It is like if when JYP will announce who is the last member is gonna be very obvious thats not her.
That sounds very possible. I also saw that look in Christina's eye.

Below is just my personal observation having followed this series closely.
first of all, as with JYP competitions, it is the first and last place of each round that matters more (esp the last place). The rankings in the middle served mixed purposed. THats why for instance in Nizi for example, you have people getting 2nd or 3rd placings in late stages but eliminated right at the end. those high rankings in the middle sometimes are like consolation positions to bring some balance to the competition - or make it seem more balanced. JYP has tonnes of experience in making shows like that.
Stones etc dont matter 100% as well. Basically it is up to JYP + staff and the final decision is still who he finally decides to be in a group. We have seen fringe members chosen for a wideeeee variety of reasons.
second, peer review + character evaluation.
Let's look at the main equivalent to her, who is Lexus.
Dance - both can be main dancer material. Lexus actually is better technically. We just need one main dancer / so so singer. As with every group.
Vocal - both wouldn't be missed if they don't sing. So it is not so much a factor between them.
Peer Review + Character evaluation - Lexus consistently very high, Christina consistently low. And actually history has shown that JYP places huge weightage on it.
The other very weak person when it comes to character evaluation is actually Kendall - but she offers a lot more uniqueness to the group. SHe is much less replaceable than Christina.
ANd if you look at the ending preview frame with 8 of them together crying,
there are 3 people who look like they are crying for themselves - Christina, Kendall, Gina.
Christina - she hardy cries. The only other time she did was when Yuna got cut. And even then, she was going to camila, moving around, trying not to cry. But this time, she was totally silent and just looked down, which is very out of typical character.
Kendall can go both ways, but she is much less likely to be cut - if you see if from JYP perspective about the group mix.
Gina - actually consistent in the way she cries. But there is some risk there too i feel, though definitely not as strong as Christina.
This is an interesting take. People have been speculating Christina is out because she has been on social media. What do you think about Savanna? It seems she and Lexus would play the same role, a good dancer with low vocal skills.

I think savanna sits in a more all-rounder-general-purpose role, while Lexus is very obviously the dancer of the team in terms of image and ability.
I think savanna is strong in dance moves due to her gymnastics but lexus is still at another level technically and artistically

Great reaction. Please do reactions to Niziu Japan project. If you love A2K you will absolutely love it. Don't watch any music videos and start with the project first that way you can be surprised. They are basically the Younger Japanese version of Twice. It even has Sana and Momo as judges in one episode since they are Japanese and they both are in the final episode. I've heard that rumor about Cristina too, but when I looked her up on ig. The ig account of the same name is a different person, and it was created long time ago. Maybe she made it private, but given that Cristina is a enterpreneur before the auditions (being CEO of her own kpop dance company), you'd think she make it public to capitlize on her fame while it's fresh.
Yea, I think it’s more coincidence. I don’t see a way she doesn’t make it. She’s been top 3-4 almost the whole show. And hasn’t drawn negativity from JYP since singing in boot camp. Unless she bombs horribly I don’t see a way he doesn’t take her

I think there will be two performances per team or one per team plus one all together. I can see they have different outfits at the very end of the episode. Maybe they all just changed outfit before the ranking announcement?

They did. You can see in the preview videos that they each have on and danced in two different outfits. If it's anything like the Nizi Project. The first performance each perform a brand new song that JYP wrote. Something that they haven't seen or heard before so they'll have to interpret it in their own way. The second performance, they both perform to the same song to see which does it better.

For me, 5 will be a much more suitable and safer bet for the market. I know I would be wrong somehow. 7 is the magic number as you Pierre said. If JYP is really keen, one or two of them could be solo artist in KPOP. Having said all that, personally, it is hard to see Kendall's vibe in a group.

I'm really worried about KG because she ranked 6th. If the plan is really to eliminate 2 girls I think KG must be in danger. At this point I think JYP won't let Kendall or Lexus go. The Alcohol Free performance was a disaster but it seems like Kendall and Lexus are still one of his favorites.

I'm concerned that Kendall may not have been popular enough with the other girls. A TEAM is being chosen -- and so even though Kendall has star qualities, I'm not sure she PROGRESSED ENOUGH. She was always good in certain ways from the beginning -- but was probably overtaken by the other girls during the three month training period. Personally, I would still choose Kendall over Lexus because of Kendall's potential -- but Lexus is one of the most popular girls. So that may clinch the deal for Lexus.

As for your point that an odd numbered group is best, I'VE -- I think the current best girl group -- has SIX members. During Rei's illness, I'VE dropped to FIVE girls (an odd number). The odd number didn't help them at all. BUT the loss of the sixth girl, Rei, HURT THEM BADLY during that time. The PERSON is far more important than the NUMBER.

This girl has writings skill, composer, sings well, i believe she can catch a melody rap easily. Plus her dance she has to make points to remember as if shes taught like rest she wont remember details of dance.

The videos you say are the TimeToTwice Tdoong Tour. There are 5 episodes and the girls visit all the park. Just Twice visited it at nigth when park closed to general public.

I bet she would. They need that air voice type for others to rest. Because they have really good and potential good vocalists. But the problem they are prone to strain their voices. And so Kendall will fill those gaps for song's bridge or supporting falsettos in airy type if song requires too.

What I WILL say is that it's highly unlikely they'll want to invest or promote a 7 piece group for the West. 6 is really going to be pushing it. I personally would love to see them ALL debut, but it's not up to me. Also, I think JYP should just promote them for the Korean and Asian audience - I think the USA market and media will be very snidy and belittling to this group.
