As a older k-pop fans since 2nd gen, I always like JYPE artist... most of them kind person and have a good relationship with JYP personally, from what I see... for example 2AM when they want to release their new album after left JYPE able to talk to JYP and asked him for a song and record it with him... but JYP can be brutal as we know like you said from Stray Kids survival show...
That is what I’ve seen as well. From what I can tell, he is generally well liked. But I also think some people forget he is also a businessman. You don’t build a successful business by being a pushover. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions and be harder on people.
@@StayMultiverse yup, he need to think for the benefit of business.... and of course his not the only one making decision in JYPE, there's a division and shareholder...
7:40 I agree with JYP. He seemed to be pointing out that if you exhaust your breath on just one clause, it will eventually make it difficult to sing the next clause. This can interrupt the emotional flow of the song and prevent it from reaching its climax. I believe this is a technical issue that applies to all singers, regardless of their style or genre.
I understand that. He’s going to have a different perspective than I will. I’ve had to sing while dancing before, it takes a crazy amount of breath support. But vocal style is still a factor.
8:43 "There may be styles he wants. what she was doing is a style that he didn't want as much" -> I watched another a2k review video from one of the Kpop vocal trainer and he has exact same point of view with JYP about her holding breath issue. I am not saying something is total good or bad or correct or incorrect, but I believe that they follow recent pop vocal trends and of course they work with lots of amazing global vocal trainers all over the world like kpop industry always does. In addition, Kpop expect artists sing a song while dancing. As you know, singing with move and without move is totally different. Plus JYP has his own unique style as we all know. He's just trying to find best trainee to fit his future girl group based on his own knowledge and experience. if someone fits his own standard, he will say great, if not, he will say not great.
Kaylee is a girl with potential, but I don't want her to debut in this A2K because I think she's still too young, but I'm rooting for JYP to continue with her in the company and debut in a future group because she is so cute and has a lovely personality
She definitely has a lot of potential! But I agree that she is too young.. even if they don’t debut for a couple of years she’ll still be quite young. I agree, it would be awesome if she debuted later with another group! She would do so well ☺️
I think JYP's point about Melissa's song is right. Of course, Melissa is good enough to sing and has potential, and her confident vocalization can be an advantage. Surely I feel Her singing is good, but not great. The reason, is that, as Jyp pointed out, she is not able to control her breathing delicately and thus cannot contain the delicacy of her emotions. So, she believes that if she can control her breathing more, she can become an artist who can move people more.
To be able to sing and dance on stage doing live is very difficult, letting air out unnecessarily could affect how well you sing, and how you dance. I think that’s why he pointed that out.
In auditions like this, JYP gives harsher criticism and advice to those he believes have potential. He doesn't waste a lot of words on those without it. I've watched him since Kpopstar from over 10 years ago. Also, in Sixteen and again in Nizi Project. He is consistent and objective. I think, for example, that Kaylee is way too young for A2K. But I believe he wants to take her to Korea and let her go as far as she can. He will then sign her as a trainee, whom he will debate her as the center of a super group in 3 years. What I see in her physically is long arms and legs. I think she will grow into a Lisa (of Blackpink) like body. A2K will do well, but Kaylee is just too young. Korean laws have changed, and the number of hours you can work someone her age is limited to just 4-6 hours daily.
I can understand that. Criticism is what helps people grow, far more than compliments. And he obviously knows what he’s talking about. He has a wealth of experience in this field. I do still think some things are a bit subjective at times. I agree that Kaylee is too young. She very much has potential. I also wonder about how US labor laws come into effect since they’re also filming in the US. I could see her being brought on for a later group as well. You never know!
His comments about "air" and "breathing" is from the point of view that these Contestants have to Sing and Dance at the same time, so it's not techniques for just Singing but for performing as a Kpop Idol.
I wonder how it What makes me most curious is the culture shock and how the girls who are finally selected to debut will develop. I mean seeing themselves alone and the same time together in a country so different from occident
Honestly, it’s the same for me! I’ve really been enjoying it! I think Lexus is definitely someone I’d like to see debut! I also really like Savanna and and Kaylee! Though she might be a bit young.. But honestly I’ve liked everyone so far!
Kaylee is SOOOO cute omg. I love her, has there ever been an idol that debut as young as her?? I imagine there HAS to be a limit as too how young an idol can be, makes me think back to Sixteen and when Natty/Somi were auditioning for TWICE and i feel like they were definitely talented enough, but were held back from debuting purely due to age
She is super cute!! I love her personality already! But she’s definitely very young. I know with trainees, they have children divisions where they take classes and do camps but it’s a bit different. I don’t know what age they move out of the kids classes into the full trainee program. I think the age they’re debuting has also gotten younger since back then. (Although, I wasn’t in the kpop scene quite yet when TWICE debuted)
Think I'm with you, Christina and Kaylee (my nieces name who is also 12! She isnt fluent in Korean, but ill make her a stay yet!). But I do worry about Kaylee being away from family for so long. Do we know yet how many for the group?
Haha I believe in you!! I agree though. It will be very hard for her going away to Korea at such a young age… just ask Chan. Not that I know of? My working theory is that in the intro 5 crystals pop out so maybe 5? But that could also represent the gems in their necklace things so I’m not sure.

Chan as a leader has to be responsible and be in charge of the rest ( some things you can't share with your dad/teacher that's why he shared things with stays but not recently cause there's some problems with other fandoms ) . JYP treats girls and boys differently cause of how they view girls ( younger girls below 25 ? ) in their country .
