Andre, Ahmed, Anessa, et al, I suppose you don't even know that historically there was a third class PUBLIC road with milestone markers in miles ( before we went metric) between Matelot and Blanchicheusse? Yes mile markers through Madamas to Grande Tacarib to Petit Tacarib to Paria to Blanchicheusse!!! Yes it is true that it was more of a donkey trail for cocoa and citrus farmers, but lack of use and forest has taken it back and it is overgrown to the point where you may believe that it has always been only a walking trail. That is simply not true. The trail that you saw the 4x4 vehicles video of actually leads to a house at L'Anse Po / First Beach that used to be driven to and from by four wheel drive vehicles of the owners of that house as recently as the early 2000s. So it is not only for hikers, it is in fact for four wheeled vehicles. Where there is no budget for T&T Forest Rangers to keep trails open, the Enduro motorcycle riders and 4x4 drivers often clear the trail themselves and do trail maintenance, to keep the jungle from closing it off completely. I have never seen hikers do any heavy trail maintenance, simply because they don't have to think of other users but themselves. The trail use is for everyone, not for one interest group of hikers only. The 4x4 vehicle keep the trail open for vehicle use. The dirt cannot be ruined by a 4x4. It is really the torrential rain and rushing water is what cuts the trail badly with very deep huge impassable ravines and gorges, not the 4x4s. The 4x4 users smooth it back out and keep it / make it useable again . You need the 4x4s users to keep the trails open.
Thanks for the reassurance sir; I'm sure ALL users of the trail that I mentioned, not just hikers, will appreciate it. Wrt the education part, thank you but I know my history and I know my country. I have been hiking this trail for 20+ years, and within the last two years or so it seems as though the 4x4 users have neglected to smooth back out the tyre tracked ravines that the rains have left:( Hopefully soon 🙏🏽 In the meantime, continue to enjoy your sport since that's what the trail was made for... Leaving it impassable for others to use

@@KDBATVOffroad but correct me if I’m wrong from hiking here multiple times, these rots are caused by erosion (a child could see that if they just walk here while raining) and the size of those rots look larger than any diameter tire you commonly see amongst this off road community.
