It was a 4 bet flop, either one could’ve been slow playing/pot controlling a strong hand. Once Gil checked back twice the villain correctly deduced he didn’t have anything strong on that board. I’m assuming he didn’t think Gil was a loose calling station so the villain probably didn’t expect him to call all his chips off with third pair. The other thing that makes this bluff not terrible is he could’ve easily done this with a monster to target a sticky player with a middling hand who is likely to call off because the line looks bluffy. So while a triple barrel would’ve worked better in this case , the bluff wasn’t horrible

The JJ hand, the guy had what I call a "bonus" hand. So, a 7-2 J-4 10-2 whatever the fuck. Sometimes people bomb it pre with bonus hands then freeze when they get called and see the A on the flop. Because it went check check to the river, he bombed it to try and take it down.
