Hmm, the sonic screw driver runs on algorithims, I fail to see how this couldn't be made, if it can gain feedback, not that I think the door gives it, but it should in theory be able to sequence through magnetic pulses to open a door.

If the someone has remote unlocking of the door, you will see and hear the same beep and change of color. So it might have been just a toy he was using and someone just hit the button to unlock the door. Also if the door is set for a schedule it will do the same thing. So I feel like there was no magic or work involved. Just a trick played on you all, but that's just my opinion.
If i get a buisness, i will use those doors for every dorr (Accept front door into building) i would like hire a technician to do and be like *Holds up Sonic Screwdriver* "This, needs to do this" *Scans with card to open door*

Its simple really. He put the chip the lock reads into the top of the sonic. And when the chip is close enough to the lock, the door opens.
