    Great video, as always! The one thing I'd say is that the light that shines in through the side of your drapes, onto your seeds on that shelf, might be a concern. Storing seeds in a darker location might be better 😊

      @EmmaAppleBerry 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah im thinking that broken/useless deep tall dhelf in her kitchen she can easily fit them in there and stack them and she does most her seed stuff in the kitchen area anyway and inside the cuoboard will be dark and cooler than outside.

    It is my goal for my inner critic voice to be as kind when I have a bump in my day as Becky’s. Every time you mess up and I hear a calm, “that’s okay”. My first thought is she missed her calling to be a teacher, and my next thought is her parents had to be amazingly supportive for her to hear and repeat that each time a challenge presents itself to her. Everyone needs the kinda monologue that is reassuring and optimistic.

      Make sure you look for tried and true heirloom seeds if you want to save from year to year. IF you save hybrids...you might get different types from SAME plant...and not always edible. Could that be the issue with the pumpkin looking like a cross with spaghetti squash? I don't know, but I do know I got a HUGE blue Hubbard type squash from replanting some saved squash seeds one year. I didn't even know I had one, cause it grew over the 6ft fence and ran around my neighbors yard. They came and asked if they could pick it in the fall. WELL...I never planted any such squash...but it either came from a saved seed hybrid of some sort OR the squirrels planted it. Can't believe my neighbors didn't complain about a rogue vine coming from my squash patch. I actually found a couple of smaller ones well hidden ones in the corner where the garner snake nests were...which is why I didn't mess too much in that area. LOL. Good squash at smaller than a basketball. NO idea how they managed to eat the monster that escaped or if it was good.

    Electric pressure canner! I had no idea, but just ordered one from eBay. I have a glass top stove so I can't use my big pressure canner on it. I end up using it outside on one of those turkey fryer gas burners. It's dicey when there is any wind and I have to watch it like a hawk. That also means I can't can in the winter when the ambient temperature rarely gets above 30º. I like to put up homemade soups in pint jars since there are just two of us, so this is going to be perfect--hope I can sleep tonight! Last year I got an electric waterbath canner which saves me from carrying a huge pot of water from the sink to the stove (I'm old). These two appliances are going to make my life so much easier.

    😳When the video first started playing I thought you were posting an old story. Snow?!?! No thank you. Yeah it was beautiful but I’m in NJ and we get enough snow. I think by the Christmas holidays I’m over it. At least until the middle of a blazing August when I pray for a blizzard. Anyway LOVED hanging out today. You did accomplish loads!! And yes indeed the added shade will make those girls more comfy in the heat. Also it deters birds of prey and provides additional protection. The birds of prey prefer a clear open path. Not saying all the time but they prefer a clear flight path. And I knew you’d love those storage containers like I do. And girrrrrrrl when you put that pumpkin bread in the oven I shook my head and said out loud “You didn’t set a timer did ya?” LOL. your expressions are always priceless!! 🤔😳😊 Thanks for taking us all along. ❤️

    Love your channel Becky. I remember when I used to get that much done in a day! lol. I love my cast iron pans but there are certain things I won't use them for. I never really thought about it before, but I guess that is just wisdom passed down to me from my mother and her mother before her. I just always use my stainless steel stock pot to make my chicken stocks.

    That happened to me with an Italian beef stew I made once in my cast iron Dutch oven. The broth was BLACK and the meat seemed fine but the liquid we use to soak the bread and other things was ruined. I had to get rid of the Dutch oven.

    Why did you want to can the black beans? Surely they take up way more space like that and black beans don’t need soaking, and don’t take very long to cook.
