  • I literally chose a random street I could see from my hotel window. Walked down was such an eventful experience. I love Dhaka, Bangladesh and I highly recommend the more adventurous travelers visit Bangladesh too! These people are so friendly, welcoming, and happy to show me around. I had a ton of fun making this one. Enjoy!

    The way you handled all those people without understanding their language was super amazing..
    The people of Bangladesh are very much hospitable.. the poor people you met ,most of them are not that much educated at least they don't know English ... But still they are ready to show all the hospitality to their guest with whatever they have ... That's the real scenario of the innocent people of Bangladesh..❤..

    21 February is the International Mother Language Day and in Bangladesh, the day has been observed as National Martyr's day since 1952. The day is marked with the martyrdom of valiant sons of Bangladesh for establishing Bangla as the state language of the then East Pakistan (present Bangladesh). This is one and only sacrifice of lives for the sake of the Mother Language in the history of mankind. On this significance of the day, UNESCO declared 21st February as the International Mother Language Day to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
    To observe the day, the people of the world in a barefoot walk to the Martyrs' Memorials to pay homage to the martyrs with flowers wearing traditional dress and singing songs.

      Oh wow that's super interesting. Yes I know "mother tongue" meant something like "original" or "official" language, but I didn't know what the significance of that was and why it would have a day dedicated to it. Thanks a lot for that information, that really helps. Crazy!

    There's a one thing that i wanna share for some people and that is, mostly people think that Bangladesh is a Muslim country or a islamic country. But reality is, The majority religion of Bangladesh is islam but Bangladesh is use to be follow by a secular law or Bangladesh is a secular country. Beside in Bangladesh, there so many lot of different types of religions people follow or there so many other religions people live. One of them Hinduism and bhuddism are the common minority religion of Bangladesh and almost 12% people follow Hinduism in Bangladesh and 8% people follow bhuddism from south east Bangladesh or mountain area of Bangladesh 🇧🇩. There also atheist community exist in Bangladesh🇧🇩 almost 5% atheist population in Bangladesh🇧🇩. Meanwhile Christian's are the lowest religion population of Bangladesh. Almost 3 or 2% population🇧🇩.

    it's not really smog! It's called fog! Usually in the winter, the weather is hazy due to the fog! You don't see the sun even for up to an entire week and the visibility is low!

    • @WhereisBrad
      @WhereisBrad  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I see I see. Wow that's crazy. Why would it be so foggy even when it's hot out?

    • @imtiazanik
      @imtiazanik 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@WhereisBrad it was probably hot for you but not too hot for the locals as you can see most of them were wearing winter clothes! Why would it be so foggy? - Not a weather expert! It has something to do with the sun not out for days and the cold air that flows from the Himalayas!

    • @WhereisBrad
      @WhereisBrad  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I see I see. I guess I thought so because I’m used to fog in the morning and it burns away when the sun comes out. I understand now though thank you!! 🙏
