I hope you guys enjoyed this technical breakdown for the Overkill Lightshow, please let me know if you had any questions about the main vid you wanted me to go into in a future vid
revisiting this channel after many years. i miss the launchpad hype back in 2017/18, when i was 12 years old. i was so fascinated by the art of making lightshows and covers, it sparks so much nostalgia coming back now. man, i wish we could turn back time.
interesting to release a insight of your lightshows! not a lot of people know what goes into the creative process of creating lights, techniques and methods included just finished watching the video, you should absolutely keep doing this sort of in depth behind the scenes stuff, helps us other creators take some notes too
I've never understood how to make lights but my boy you have mastered it. Congrats again on 1mil. and thank you for getting me into this addictive thing called a launchpad.
I really enjoyed listening to all the details and i definitely noticed a few things i missed the first time after you pointed them out. It would be awesome to see more videos like this!
this is gonna sound absolutely mad but a long long long time ago when we were both kids we were instagram mutuals and shared a global skype group with other finger drummers/edm producers/djs etc etc i am very happy to see you succeeding hope all is well
I knew you from the Shape of You video. Those damn sexy fingers. I was so obsessed that I downloaded every launchpad app known ever to play on my phone. I even made a replica of yours out of cardboard but in white to practice lol. Ah those good ol days. Congrats man
hey kaskobi could you provide an in depth tutorial on setting up the launchpad X with project files? i upgraded from the mk2 and am on abelton 12 but nothing seems to work no matter how many tutorials i try
Hey Kaskobi, I've been thinking about getting a launchpad recently and I saw that your launchpad in the back had a light pattern. My question is if I can make a pattern that can spell out my name when I'm not using it (while plugged)
Interesting, but NOT a "light show", performed in front of audiences in public venues. More like Launchpad. I'm using a Teensy to synthesize up to 30 waveforms, controlled via MIDI mixer/Reaper DAW, with XYRGB outputs to laser projectors, synchronized to music. (Laserium living room) NOW THAT'S AN ABSTRACT LIGHT SHOW, created by harmonic, rhythmic music
I have a question that is similar to one that has already been asked. Throughout the years you have created different ways you create light shows for different genres of music, for example when you did Paris by Chainsmokers remix they were pretty much the same colours and unique patterns that inspired others, or MagnusTheMagnus keep on loving that I feel it's very clean and "elegant" in a way. Are there parts of the songs that you cover that make you imagine some sort of lightshow before you work on it? What exactly makes you think "this light will look good on this part/song"? Sorry if it's a pretty long question ahah
I just wanna say, I've downloaded your `Wallmonger` project and holy shit, it is so uniquely set up. The way you use Max MIDI chains to set up the project's inputs, outputs and MIDI page mappings is just insane. I *love* that. And the tutorials are super mega convenient to learn a song. Cheers, dude.
Haven't you leaked the 1mil sub special over 2 years ago for 1 second already? (And it was like over 10 launchpads, and it looked HUGE! My memory could be wrong tho)
Oh man I really want to know how to overlay two light on the launchpad,I always wanted to do that You are a legend man, always been the greatest one on doing launchpad light ❤️🔥
Please explain how you did "velocity randomising"😮 And is there an extra plug-in for the "layer masking" or does it work with eye-drop? Apart from overkill: I need your pro advice for where to get the stems from any song for the button-mapping from😅
The playing activates the effects, all 1000 of them, this video just shows the recorded output midi, youre welcome to download the project and see it for real :)

Yeah
for the q&a video: What is the secret to creating such a complex continuation of lights with such simple shapes?

Such an interesting video! This really helped me understand how launchpad lightshow are actually made.
this is gonna sound absolutely mad but a long long long time ago when we were both kids we were instagram mutuals and shared a global skype group with other finger drummers/edm producers/djs etc etc i am very happy to see you succeeding hope all is well

I’m laughing my head off of how it sounds on piano versus the actual thing 🤣

I remember when watching “KDrew - Circles” on 17 launchpads a long time ago it was crazy... this one is almost impossible 😮
But not for Kaskobi💪✨
Thanks for sticking around for so long :)
I love how the TH-cam subtitle transcripts this as "[Music]"
I knew you from the Shape of You video. Those damn sexy fingers. I was so obsessed that I downloaded every launchpad app known ever to play on my phone. I even made a replica of yours out of cardboard but in white to practice lol. Ah those good ol days. Congrats man
Just a question: how did you connect launchpads 17 and 21 so that they work? 2 - 5 It’s clear how to connect the launchpad, but more how?
hey kaskobi could you provide an in depth tutorial on setting up the launchpad X with project files? i upgraded from the mk2 and am on abelton 12 but nothing seems to work no matter how many tutorials i try

Piano goes even more impossible than Rush E 😭
you sounded like you're in an asmr video throughout the whole voiceover lol
It was way more ASMRy before i rerecorded it but it didnt help too much 😭
kaskobi valve developer commentary
Do you have a lightsaber collection?
I do! I actually build them myself
I download the projects but there are files always missing I cant play them. anyone have a solution to this?

Good question
Launchpad lightshows are becoming black MIDI, technology truly is amazing.

I dis not know that you still make music. I watched your videos since like 6+ years ago.

Hi broo Thanks for spoiler
Oh yeah, it looks so gorgeous, but it sounds so cursed 😂
Very true

The playing activates the effects, all 1000 of them, this video just shows the recorded output midi, youre welcome to download the project and see it for real :)
@@Kaskobi So basicaly its like making some kind of rythmic game where you are making the level
