Looe one of my favourite places on earth to visit, i have spent many a summer there on holiday and still go back now and then to reminisce about crab fishing in the harbour
My Dad first told me about him as he loved it in Looe and lived in millendreath for a few years . Looe is on my list this year as thinking of doing a tour along the coast
@@john-de5vf There are great walks around here. You can walk all the way from Polperro to Looe using the coast path. It's about 5 miles. Nice cafe around half way!
Hey Jon, seeing that you guys are basically surrounded by the ocean, do cars in the UK rust out a lot because of the salt in the air? Just curious, because certain coastal states here in the US have rust issues. Good to hear another StreetZips weather report, Looe is definitely a beautiful seaside town.
Here in the UK because we get a lot of rain rust in cars can be a problem across the country but is worse near the coast because of the salty spray. Car manufacturers do treat the car bodies with an anti rust coating before the paint. That helps prevent rust issues for so long. Paint and the coating get breached with stone chips or scratches if not dealt with rust will set in..
The rusting used to be a lot worse back in the 90's. I remember as a kid seeing rust on nearly every car. Not sure if there's a human health benefit living in the salty sea air? I'm still going strong and will keep making videos for you guys.
@@StreetZipsSZ yeah, I think a lot has to do with the road salt as well but those people driving thru saltwater cannot be good. I would say as far as health benefits goes, it can't be a bad thing. Veggies grow pre salted lol
@@paulrob86 yeah, it's mainly on the northeast coast where we have issues, that and around the great lakes due to lake effect snowfall & the salted roads.
It really is crazy. I've never known such a wet, windy and grey year! If every day of rain is equal to a day of sun, then we are in for the best summer ever!
If it helps we just had most of our snow starting to melt ❄️❄️ and the sun has been shy also except yesterday and today full sun yes finely. All the best 👍👍
@@StreetZipsSZ Apparently its rained everyday since October and almost double the average rainfall. As you say I think the summer is going to be one of the best ever!
So much rain has fallen in such a short space of time that the old drains can't cope, remember that it's not a modern city. The Collingford Reservoir is still only 95%full following the drought of 2022.
This reminds me of the hit song: “I’ve been to the year 3000, not much has changed - except they live under water”…
Not entirely impossible from what is happening here…

Well it might well be that crab fishing could take place further inland from now on….
Thanks for sharing nice to see the old country from western Canada
Always love your videos

I miss Looe
Certainly would not want all that water in the parking to freeze. Cheers been awhile. Hello from Blissfield New Brunswick Canada:)
Sure has been a wild year so far!
Hoping to get out and start exploring once the rain stops.
Freeze at 0°F. Sea water....or 17.77°C which never happens in the UK
Minus -17.77°C.....correction

Yes most ferrous metal item dissolve fairly quickly in the U.K. The sea air here is extremely salty..
Get used to it, it's going to get a lot worse yet.
This bloody weather never seems to stop. Its been raining everyday for months now

There are two Seatons.
Have a look on the map, it's just a few miles up the coast from Looe.
