    Great work again guys.
Great to hear some praise for the underrated script from Stefano, as well as the scene before the Shower Scene which to me is as important. Without the parlour scene the Shower Scene doesn’t have the same impact. Beautiful writing, even better acting and cinematography.

Thanks a lot Thomas. Totally agree, the parlour scene is hugely important to the narrative and Norman as a character.

While it's not my fave Hitch flick of all-time (that'd be VERTIGO; his real masterpiece) you cannot deny the filmmaking genius overall and how groundbreaking and iconic this horror film is (I do enjoy it overall; my fave part is Norman's dialogue re: the madhouse - that's when Marion - and the audience - realized 'oh hell no I'm out of my depth here now..' ; Perkins alone s/gotten an Oscar nod for his dual role) and yes indeed Leigh is vastly underrated as well. Great job as always gents. Personal note: my dad saw this as a teen - one late night he & his friends drove over from NJ (where I live and where he grew up too) to NYC where it was showing 24/7 (yep back in the day the moviehouses were like that) and when the shower scene sprung on them they got so scared they spilled their popcorn and a soda from their balcony seats on some hapless dude below!)

Hahaha great story George. Must've been amazing to see it back then I 1960.

Haha. My Dad saw it as a teen too. He was so scared by it that the following morning, he was doing his paper round, heard a creaking gate, dropped his papers and legged it. He still refuses to watch it to this day, he’s that scarred 😂

You guys are doing great at covering a wide range of titles here on YT. Psycho couldn't be anything other than a 10. I'm not a fan of that last scene with all the exposition. I think Hollywood underestimated the audience but 🤷‍♂️. And "masterBates Motel" was genius 🤣

Cheers George. Yep but exposition heavy that scene at the end I think.

Another top episode lads..... I always felt the twist In psycho doesn't get the recognition it deserves...maybe because it has been parodied so many times

Yeah probably because it's so well known. It would be been a real shock back then.

I think FFC may have the best "4 in a row" of them all, with The Godfather, The Conversation, Godfather Part 2 and Apocalypse Now.

All great for sure, Steve. To compare with Hitchcock though, one is a sequel and The Conversation is largely forgotten, as God as it is. Hitchcock's released 4 standalone iconic classics back to back.

Great work lads, a movie that you heard about before you ever got to see, just a touchstone of film culture. Just a pity Perkins could never shake off that role in the rest of his career, the world always saw him as Norman

Absolutely, he became typecast unfortunately. Shame as he's an excellent actor, but there are far worse acting careers to have!

Would have liked a more detailed reference to Herrmann’s incredible score without which Psycho would perhaps not be as revered.

We talk about the score for several minutes and say what you just said plus more.
