I saw someone going down the road on one of these the other day, I thought it was great! I got a 22cc laying around somewhere, I might see what I can do...Thanks for sharing!
great idea for connection to the the tire. also an idea I had for the peg was to get a hold of a handlebar grip and slide that on so u will have rubber to rubber.
I totally agree, i wouldnt of wasted few minutes of my life watching this crap if i thought i wasnt going to see it in action.. and weed eater bike ? Kinda weed lol kush ? Skunk ? Blue cheese ? Haze ? If it ate my weed id defo go mental haha
Need more details on how you mounted the engine to the "gate" rod. Also, how did you attach the foot peg to the engine shaft? Other than that, great video!
I would find a way to put the shroud back on the weed eater engine. Either that or make one. It's there to direct the air being generated by the flywheel to cool the cylinder. It might get enough air when it's in motion but while idling it wont have any air cooling it.
being tied to the back tire ... i think it stops if he slows down enough... i dont think it does idle... from stop pedal against engine compression untill tire rpm gets high enough to turn it over and run... slow down and she either stops or cuts a hole in the tire...
Check my rig th-cam.com/video/SoRIaoGqdrk/w-d-xo.html Three parts right now only experiancing a little manufacturing issues due to wheel untruenesa but it's a work in action it's clutched though.
Chamblizi The All Mighty! Yea the one i built was clutched aswell and instead if using on of them pegs i got a small 6in wheel and tire from harbor freight and broached a keyway in its hub, it worked great, gets a lil shaky at around 25 mph due to warped front rim.
just a fyi i am a small engine mechanic weed eater engines are air cooled u can get more speed and longer life out of your engine if you put the plastic covers back on your engine so it is cooled off properly
reroute throttle cable to the swing arm, bend tubing to allow the cable to pull in the right area, as for fuel tank get rid of it or keep as reserve tank, and buy a seat post mounted rack which you attach a 1 gal gas can, buy fuel lines from a lawnmower repair shop drill, 2 slightly smaller holes on top and bottom corner where fuel will gather, buy vacuum hose t-fitting that fit fuel lines, buy breather valve/check valve and short hose to fit (installs in gas cap) ,fuel feed line goes in drilled hole in bottom of gas can push through and pull out mouth of can insert t-fitting and pull back in till seated in hole, fuel return line goes to top of tank and gets treated the same as feed line, run hoses to carb, fill with fuel and enjoy your 60-150mile range. it works because i built for my 49cc bladeZ power board witch i would get 60 miles out of a gallon with raised compression, advanced timing, and a hp carb, averaged 25mph moving, peaked 33mph, rode from Whittier, CA to Santa Monica pier and back through downtown LA
I like your idea bc of no welding I have made a chainsaw bike my self I did front wheeldrive with chain drivin it works pretty well but I'm gonna try your idea next but with a higher cc engine of course but great build anyhow
Well I had a brain storm wile watch this, completely different design but I credit you none the less, thank you kind sir! But I must ask what's the tensioner called????
hey if you cut a part of the exact same tread of your tie you have on the rim you could glue it on to that metal part where it's touching the tire so you have more grip
a lawn mower replacement throttle could help with your throttle issues . I took one from one model of mower to another did not fit exact but same concept without all the extra parts. Like your bike build keep building
Great concept Richie, I'm working on a weedwacker trolling motor. I'd like to know if you worked out a way to engage and disengage the motor while riding ? Could you show or explain that system ? thanks...
Ive done three of these and soon found out there is no need to have throttle control. Just open it up all the way and only run a kill switch wire. When you run up on a stop sign hit the kill switch and if theres no traffic and your still rolling a little it will take off again.
i have a trike i plan on doin this to my trike is thare any way of mounting the engine with the main gears or is that not possible thanks......and nice job on your bike looks awsome🙂👍
you should link the products you used to built this in your description. That away I could write down the product #'s and just walk directly into home depot and not have to walk around looking through every isle to find this stuff haha.
Nice job but, why can't you start it for us ?? How fast.? How easy to use. ? ETC.? Maybe You could have just put the drive roller on the flex shaft of your weed eater. ?
How did you mount the bike peg, I want to build something like this to get to and from work and the store without having a motorcycle license (under 50cc you don't need a license, I'll try to get a 80cc but they'll never know), the only way I could see attaching the peg is taking a long bolt and using washers to hold the peg onto the shaft, how exactly did you do it?
You need rope a proper sized socket and ratchet to pull the 25CC motor new shoftersark plug, insert rope enough so you can still pull it put when your done. Pull your crank rope slowley and when the piston reaches the top you take a torx screw driver listen the bolt in the center shaft and off comes the adapter. After that you will need a pulling tool to remove the clutch plating.
There's not much chance that this even works. The drive roller needs to be knurled and even if it did grip the tyre it would soon rip all the spuds off the tyre. If you dont have the facilities to fabricate parts, try a BMX stunt peg as a drive roller, a nice grippy one. Nice effort though.
can you give me more specific picture or a drawing, I find that you have the best design compared o others. I really want to make one like yours. thank, bill
I am interested in making a bike like this, unfortunately I have very limited mechanical experience. WHat is a good way to begin? Should I just buy a motor and go from there? Thanks :) -Alex
Why buy a engine for a ton of money when you can visit a few garage sales and pick up an old weed eater. Thats how I got my 2 engines. One was a spare the other was already on a weed eater. I paid 10 bucks for both. With limited mechanical knowledge anyone can pretty much do this. The only real requirement for it is patience. Also sometimes people design how to put it together themselves (thats the option I used) others just copy someone elses design and improve on it. I put rubber bushing on for my mounts where metal meets metal. That keeps vibration down where as if I didn't do it my hands would go numb from the vibrations and the engine will eventually die with excessive vibration. If and when you become good enough when it comes to mechanics then you can decide if you want to do a chain drive system with a clutch. The easiest way to gain knowledge as far as Mechanics go is to work on some cars. I have 1 engine rebuild under my belt and also 1 tranny rebuild. I have worked on many cars and trucks so my mechanical knowledge came from that and there is still stuff I learn every once in a while. Best of luck with your project.
everybody could built something like this and install anything in it and says it can cut a weeds or a whole tree with out showing how it really works and most of viewers likes it.as simple
the rear mount will only allow it to "float" back and forth in the pipe 1/4-1/2 inch....the force of the motor is directed towards the bar/pipe assembly so the bar/pipe assembly is pushing into itself....if i was to use this mounting technique i would double nut the rear mounts plus use locktite to prevent it from getting loose
Turn buckle . I got a build on my channel so simple a cave man could do it. If working on your bike is fixing the tire then that's what my build is like.
You must pull the spark plug and obtain a torch screw driver set. Take a rope push it in the cylinder just enough for you to pul it out. Pull your rope slowley when the piston stops take your example: torx no 25 and it shall listen up. Inside you will need a clutch or armpit puller to remove the plates.
I saw someone going down the road on one of these the other day, I thought it was great! I got a 22cc laying around somewhere, I might see what I can do...Thanks for sharing!
best/easiest mounting i've seen yet for the weedeater motorized bike. great on you sir! following in your footsteps!
great idea for connection to the the tire. also an idea I had for the peg was to get a hold of a handlebar grip and slide that on so u will have rubber to rubber.
Why did you upload a video and you didn't even have it running, I get that you put it together and all but come on man that's the whole point
I totally agree, i wouldnt of wasted few minutes of my life watching this crap if i thought i wasnt going to see it in action.. and weed eater bike ? Kinda weed lol kush ? Skunk ? Blue cheese ? Haze ? If it ate my weed id defo go mental haha
nice build im going to be using a leaf blower motor myself but your steps are so simple
What you need to do is buy a motor (About 70cc) ,and then follow this guys istuctions because this dude's idea is very simple and easy to do.
Need more details on how you mounted the engine to the "gate" rod.
Also, how did you attach the foot peg to the engine shaft?
Other than that, great video!
Interesting idea for the mounting system. In the process of building one of these bikes myself
How's that project coming along and welcome to the clan, here's my first build th-cam.com/video/SoRIaoGqdrk/w-d-xo.html
skateboard grip tape for tire connection
i am gonna use that
isn't that gonna wear out your tire
nice work, gets my mind going full of ideas!

How do you attach the roller to the crankshaft?
Nice job I have been having so much trouble trying to build a gas bike with just the spare parts I have around m house
just a fyi i am a small engine mechanic weed eater engines are air cooled u can get more speed and longer life out of your engine if you put the plastic covers back on your engine so it is cooled off properly
I love going to a store with idea's the product maker never thought of
reroute throttle cable to the swing arm, bend tubing to allow the cable to pull in the right area, as for fuel tank get rid of it or keep as reserve tank, and buy a seat post mounted rack which you attach a 1 gal gas can, buy fuel lines from a lawnmower repair shop drill, 2 slightly smaller holes on top and bottom corner where fuel will gather, buy vacuum hose t-fitting that fit fuel lines, buy breather valve/check valve and short hose to fit (installs in gas cap) ,fuel feed line goes in drilled hole in bottom of gas can push through and pull out mouth of can insert t-fitting and pull back in till seated in hole, fuel return line goes to top of tank and gets treated the same as feed line, run hoses to carb, fill with fuel and enjoy your 60-150mile range. it works because i built for my 49cc bladeZ power board witch i would get 60 miles out of a gallon with raised compression, advanced timing, and a hp carb, averaged 25mph moving, peaked 33mph, rode from Whittier, CA to Santa Monica pier and back through downtown LA

you should use a grinder to make the peg a little rougher so it gets better traction
it would seem that a brake lever and brake cable could have been run down to the cranks, then up the front motor-mount bar to the throttle...?
Well I had a brain storm wile watch this, completely different design but I credit you none the less, thank you kind sir! But I must ask what's the tensioner called????
hey if you cut a part of the exact same tread of your tie you have on the rim you could glue it on to that metal part where it's touching the tire so you have more grip
how about adding a a dozen or so rubber bands to the peg to gain traction?
awesome dude do a test drive
a lawn mower replacement throttle could help with your throttle issues . I took one from one model of mower to another did not fit exact but same concept without all the extra parts. Like your bike build keep building
Great concept Richie, I'm working on a weedwacker trolling motor. I'd like to know if you worked out a way to engage and disengage the motor while riding ? Could you show or explain that system ? thanks...
its cool you should ride it man
For 180 bucks you can buy a nice engine, gas tank and controls kit to convert a bike. They look good too.
Ive done three of these and soon found out there is no need to have throttle control. Just open it up all the way and only run a kill switch wire. When you run up on a stop sign hit the kill switch and if theres no traffic and your still rolling a little it will take off again.
the motor is too small and it needs a jack shaft, this bike in the thumbnail is the rite way to do it. good job son!
thats true i had a motor last 500miles with the plastics on it and i built another 1 with out the plastics and it locked up within 10minits
Can u give me a parts list for this if at all possible, please?
i have a trike i plan on doin this to my trike is thare any way of mounting the engine with the main gears or is that not possible thanks......and nice job on your bike looks awsome🙂👍
you can just pull on the fuel line and the fuel line should pull out of the tank so the filter will move down the tank
you should link the products you used to built this in your description. That away I could write down the product #'s and just walk directly into home depot and not have to walk around looking through every isle to find this stuff haha.
How cool. All that gobbledygook and he never even starts it up to show us.
Thanks for posting this vid I'm working on one too
best cheap build I've seen!
Do you use the rear brake line for your throttle?
That bike pegs looks like it won't have any grip at all on the tire there
If the lid is wiped from the roller ? A friction roller diameter?
I think the fence part you are talking about is called a "cane bolt". Right?
How sterdy and how fast is it? And I think if you wrapped some electrical tape around the peg it would get more traction!
please make a more in depth video on the mounting, also what if that pipe called that the L shaped fence rod goes into?
thank you easy set up ever i am going to use it
Thank you very much for sharing!
Nice job but, why can't you start it for us ?? How fast.? How easy to use. ? ETC.? Maybe You could have just put the drive roller on the flex shaft of your weed eater. ?
Does your wheel/tire gets hot after few minutes of riding? Please reply
so i wanted to know how you fixed the motor to your brackets and that twisty bolt you use for tension, because i want to do that
for the piece at 2:57 take a pole and fix it to the frame near the weel and weld it to the piece 2:57
How fast do you have to go before the engine can take over, and you can stop, with that setup?
How did you mount the bike peg, I want to build something like this to get to and from work and the store without having a motorcycle license (under 50cc you don't need a license, I'll try to get a 80cc but they'll never know), the only way I could see attaching the peg is taking a long bolt and using washers to hold the peg onto the shaft, how exactly did you do it?

After that you will need a pulling tool to remove the clutch plating.
You can find a radiator hose that presses over the drive peg tight, and get better friction. Just cut a section the length of the drive peg
Please please make a vid on how to get the bike peg on there. I can't figure it out. Please reply
thats what i did but make sure you have front brakes!
The rough pegs are called knurled.
yes the are
What's that thing called that u put onto the bolt?
U should make some running vids :)
THIS IS AMAZING! How many miles per gallon?!?!
In the late 194os or early 1950s mechanics illustrates had an issue that showed using a Briggs &Stratton washing machine motor to mortorize a bicycle.
@@dwainvaughn1449 this year i rode one across America 🇺🇸 😳 posted it so it really happened.
does the roller attached to the clutch or it has direct drive...
thank you now to go motorize a 1965 Schwinn breeze
thak you your video halpd me a lot
great video thanks!
what do you mean disengage? do you mean ideling or full take take off so you can pedal normally
Can u go up hills with it or is it to weak for that
dont forget To get your rear suspension back the piece will stay at its place
ya just gota love home depot.
How much tension should I have on the tire?
Where did u mount the black bar for the fence at on the motor?
Is the transmission gear box of 49cc engine fit to that weed eater motor? I saw it on ebuy. Thanks.
your bike tires look offroadish, think you might lose less engine power to the friction setup with street bike tires?
How did you connect the motor to the fence post
How did you mount the throttle on the handle bars?
how does the mud and snow tire work?
can you give me more specific picture or a drawing, I find that you have the best design compared o others. I really want to make one like yours. thank, bill
Basically a genius.
funny
I would like a little more elaboration on how you drilled thru the casing, and how you were able to mount it to the bike. Great video!
Test drive!
Hey I need some advice or some pointers but I am making a weed eater bicicyle and I need some advice on how to mount it on my mountain bike
I am interested in making a bike like this, unfortunately I have very limited mechanical experience. WHat is a good way to begin? Should I just buy a motor and go from there? Thanks :) -Alex

could I get a list of the parts and how you did it?
the u shaped thing is called a u clamp
how do you mount the peg without threads?
where's your engine kill? on the motor?
Game: Take a shot everytime he says home depot. Set GO!
Ben M
Better game take a shot everytime he says umm
any ideas how the fence bar stays inside the pipe?

I think it's called a "cane bolt".
you mean you can go that good with the knoby tire
I want to see the damn thing run for god sakes
Umm how the hell did you drill thru that steel bar I tryed to day it was inpossable to get thru!!!!????!!!!??!!!??
what is that adjustment support bar called??
What's that L-Shaped Fence thing called?
what is the name for what you used to adjust the Hight of the motor?
Turn buckle .
I got a build on my channel so simple a cave man could do it. If working on your bike is fixing the tire then that's what my build is like.

this is what you need

I think its called a turnbuckle.
How does it idal
how did you attach the peg to the shaft
