I am right at 65; grew up with R&R, bluegrass, southern rock, the Dead and after I came across these guys, I have audibly consumed everything I can find on YT. Such awesome talent, humble musicians and respectful. A bright future awaits
I agree that they have earned one of the top spots. Been seeing them for years at Del fest the last x number of years, and this year , they are finally at the top of the live performance must see shows
They’ve worked on their harmony... didn’t think could get any better .. when I’m feeling down I just put on some Billy Strings before I know it I’m up dancin, and smiling. Can’t be grumpy listing to these guys
Billy is arguably the new standard for flat picking guitar. He's creative and his playing is exceptionally clean. He's smooth and makes playing look effortless - and it's not. You will not be bored when Billy and his band play - and that's a Fact Jack.
A dear friend of mine was a huge Beetles fan and talked them and their music all the time. He passed away a couple of years ago and I was thinking just today how I wish he could hear these boys. He'd be astounded at what Billy can do with a guitar. 🙂
Simply amazing. It puts a smile on my face seeing Billy enjoying each member on stage, watching him smile and laugh with as they jam effortlessly together!

Most musicians consider Modern Jazz to be the pinnacle of achievement with their instrument. These guys have earned their Masters degree by taking "Bluegrass" to the next level. these artists are so good at their craft that they are painting pictures of sound in your head. Old guitar dogs like myself bow to this level of skill. So what can you call it? Modern Progressive Improvisational Bluegrass? How about "Bluejazz"?
I call it Jamgrass and its wonderful. Its funny the one guitarist or artist that I can remotely compare to Billy is Stevie Ray Vaughn. They both command their instrument like no other. They both play hard and just go for it without any worry and never seem to fall flat. They both changed and brought their genre of music to the forefront probably more so than their peers. They both play the guitar so well you forget how good of a singer they are. Yet I don't think they could be more different. The first time I saw that El Mocambo video I thought I don't think ill ever see another player that had that much impact on me ......Billy is proving me wrong.🤘🍻🔥
I really hope someone sees and can answer this inquiry. Although I've been a TH-cam watcher for years, I've never commented on a video until this morning--another upload of this set, but I need to find out an answer. I'm copying and pasting the earlier. Between the times of 28:14 to 28:45, Billy Failing is teasing something on his banjo and I can't place it . . . driving me nuts. I want to think Dead or Phish, but that's just a guess. Any help? I only discovered Billy Strings within the last year, and he is almost all I listen to anymore, save for my spurts of Dead or Phish. Billy Strings is a god! Thank you in advance!

Outstanding, how can you even describe this guy. Hot enough to melt rock...
A bass in bluegrass should not rattle my speakers like this, but it does and I love it.
